Henry's POV
I relax fully and lean back against one of the bookshelves in the office.
I couldn't deny the obvious: This man had never intended to put tabs on Kenny, nor was he a threat.
Without noticing, I let go of a breath... This was good.
If I had to kill Omar's father, maybe even Omar if he tried to stop me or later avenge him—Kenny wouldn't like it.
Teenage Omar furrowed his brows before agreeing—but one could see on his face that he hadn't taken it seriously and wouldn't go out of his way to seek Kenny out because of his father's request.
"I'm sorry for being suspicious," I say to the teen, thinking of our last talk in the kitchen, where he tried to tell me that he and his father had never been a threat.
Then I laugh.
"But you have indeed been fucking suspicious."
Martin chuckles and sends his son out before sighing.
The scene changes.
