"Ding! Greninja and Blastoise have learned Hydro Pump!"
In Blaine's laboratory lounge, Eddie taught the two Water-type Pokémon the Technical Machine he had just obtained—the ultimate Water-type move, Hydro Pump.
"We've been battling from morning until almost afternoon, and with all the continuous battles over the past few days, I'm really exhausted. Let's take a rest today."
After Eddie defeated Blaine, the latter complained that his old bones were about to give out and went back to the laboratory to rest.
Eddie thought about it and realized that he had experienced many battles in recent days. As a trainer, he was feeling tired, let alone the Pokémon who were responsible for actually fighting.
So he returned to the laboratory with Blaine to rest. He had Greninja and Blastoise learn the ultimate Water-type move first, then recalled both Pokémon into their Poké Balls.
For today, he would rest by himself, and tomorrow he would take his Pokémon for a stroll around Olivine Island to relax.
Although the environment on Olivine Island wasn't ideal—due to the active volcano, the temperature was quite high—while Fire-type Pokémon enjoyed this environment, Water-type Pokémon didn't particularly like it.
But that was fine. Tomorrow Eddie would take them for a walk along the beach. The Pokémon that could adapt to the environment would play freely, and those that didn't like high temperatures could go into the ocean to cool off.
With this plan in mind, Eddie went straight to rest in Blaine's laboratory lounge.
While he was resting, over in Pallet Town, Team Rocket had spent most of the day subduing everyone, and then used various methods to transport away the residents of Pallet Town along with the unfortunate players.
"Pika~~"
Watching the Team Rocket members leave, the Pikachu were filled with anger and helplessness.
But they had no choice at this moment. They couldn't defeat Team Rocket, and they couldn't just abandon their entire colony either.
And right now they still had an important task to complete, which was to wait for Eddie to return and deliver the device that Daisy had given them to Eddie.
Incidentally, due to Team Rocket's cautious approach, when they were capturing the residents of Pallet Town, they had also set up a perimeter. If they spotted anyone trying to enter Pallet Town, they would arrest them without hesitation.
Therefore, even though Team Rocket had spent most of the day capturing all the residents of Pallet Town, the information hadn't leaked at all.
At this point, basically no one knew what was happening in Pallet Town.
And in the next few days, even if someone returned and noticed something was wrong, they wouldn't be able to figure out right away that it was Team Rocket who had directly captured the residents of Pallet Town.
As for the players, although the captured players didn't dare to log off temporarily, they could safely log off when they rested at night. At that time, news of the Pallet Town incident would spread.
However, by that point, the fact that the townspeople of Pallet Town had been captured would already be established, and the only people who knew about it would be the players.
Even if the players reported the matter to the Pokémon League, without evidence, the Pokémon League couldn't directly release a public announcement about the situation.
After all, the fact that the entire population of Pallet Town had been captured—regardless of whether it was Team Rocket's doing or not—was enough to cause panic among the people of the Kanto Region.
The Pokémon League would definitely suppress information about matters like this. Want to report it publicly? That would have to wait until after the conflict with Team Rocket was resolved.
The next day, Eddie woke up early. Because of his victory over the legendary Pokémon two days ago, when he had checked the internet yesterday, he found that all the news was about him, so he hadn't obtained any useful information.
Today, Eddie figured that his popularity wouldn't die down so easily, and the internet was probably still filled with reports about him.
With this thought in mind, Eddie didn't browse the online forums again. Instead, he directly entered the game, ready to take his Pokémon out to relax.
This was to allow the Pokémon who had been battling continuously to have a proper rest, and also to let them recuperate so they would be well-prepared for the upcoming battle with Team Rocket.
However, in his haste, he missed the important information that had just been posted online last night by the captured players—the news that Team Rocket had captured all the residents of Pallet Town.
...
"Eddie, you're awake. Do you want to come to the laboratory with me? The Old Amber can be revived now."
Eddie had just stepped out of his room when he found that Blaine had also just woken up.
This guy was just like Eddie. After returning yesterday and eating something, he had slept from the afternoon until now. He had gotten quite a bit of rest, and now he seemed quite energetic.
"The Old Amber can be revived? That's right, today is the second day. Sure, I'd also like to see the entire process of these Fossil Pokémon being brought back to life."
Eddie had originally wanted to take his Pokémon out for a stroll, but after thinking about it, it seemed there was no need to rush, so he followed Blaine to the laboratory to observe the process of restoring the Old Amber.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the laboratory.
Blaine and Eddie stood beside the machine and watched the revival process of the Old Amber. Blaine was observing purely as an academic researcher, while Eddie was simply there to watch out of curiosity.
"CRACK—"
As Blaine pushed the joystick of the machine, the upper and lower probes in the chamber shot out lightning-like beams, which converged on the Old Amber.
After a few seconds, the amber could be seen trembling before breaking into powder, and a black speck invisible to the naked eye emerged from within.
"Excellent, the amber has been removed perfectly. The next step is to use the nutrient solution to accelerate the embryo's growth."
Blaine looked at the scene before him and nodded with satisfaction. He pushed the joystick of another instrument, and a large amount of liquid appeared in the chamber.
With the appearance of these fluids, the invisible black speck began to grow rapidly. Soon it developed from a single cell into an actual embryo. As the nutrient solution was consumed in large quantities, the embryo continued to grow at an accelerated rate.
Nerves, bones, brain, skin, limbs—these components of a living creature began to appear. After about half an hour, the embryo had fully developed and transformed into a massive dragon-like Pokémon.
This Pokémon was undoubtedly an Aerodactyl. In Eddie's opinion, the Aerodactyl's design was very similar to the pterosaurs of the Cretaceous period. Its body was gray, part of its wings were purple, and it had four sharp claws.
Although this creature had only just been revived, its body was already quite large. Its massive frame of 1.8 meters was completely beyond the capacity of the chamber.
As cracks appeared on the vessel, it shattered completely with a loud crash, and the Aerodactyl, with nutrient solution streaming down its body, was fully revived from the Old Amber.
