When Zorua appeared on the battlefield, Wattson realized he didn't recognize what kind of Pokémon it was. Curious, he asked Liam.
Liam replied with a smile.
"No, actually. Zorua is a Pokémon from a much more distant region."
"A more distant region? Even farther than Sinnoh? Hmm… the world of Pokémon really is vast. There's still so much I don't know. Being able to battle a Pokémon I've never seen before—looks like today's my lucky day. Walter, let's continue!"
Wattson sighed in amazement while looking at Zorua, then turned to his assistant and called out loudly.
"Uh—yes! Magnemite versus an unknown Pokémon! The battle begins!"
Since he didn't know Zorua's species name, the assistant had no choice but to announce the start like that.
"Hehe, Zorua's name is Zorua! Remember it! Zorua, let's start! Go! Use Sucker Punch!"
"Chi-chi-chi!"
This time Liam ordered Zorua to attack first.
Upon hearing the command, Zorua let out a mischievous laugh. Its small body was instantly wrapped in dark purple energy, and the next moment the energy shot forward at incredible speed!

Magnemite had just started turning and couldn't react in time. From within the dark energy, a small claw suddenly extended outward, coated with powerful Dark-type energy, and slammed heavily onto Magnemite's head!

Magnemite crashed back down onto the ground.
"Zorua! Use Dark Pulse!"
"Chi!"
Liam followed up immediately. The dark energy in the air dispersed as Zorua's small body remained airborne. Its sharp mouth opened wide, unleashing a surge of dark energy!

The fast-moving Dark Pulse hit its target directly.
"M-Magnemite is unable to battle! Z-Zorua wins!"
Magnemite was a Pokémon with decent defenses but very low stamina. After taking several attacks in succession, it quickly lost the ability to fight.
"Return, Magnemite. You did well—take a rest. Now it's your turn! Go, Voltorb!"
"Vol-torb!"
Wattson swiftly recalled Magnemite and threw another PokeBall, releasing a round Voltorb.
"The battle continues! Voltorb versus Zorua!"
"Haha! I didn't expect this little guy to be so strong! Looks like I need to get serious! Voltorb, use Thunder Shock!"

Wattson seemed excited now. Golden electricity burst from Voltorb's body and formed a bolt of lightning that shot toward Zorua.
"Dodge it, Zorua! Then transform into Voltorb!"

Zorua sprang into the air with a strange laugh. While dodging the attack, its body shimmered with light—and when it landed, it had completely transformed into the shape of Voltorb!

"What?! Is that transformation? Like Ditto?!"
Wattson stared at the transformed Voltorb in shock, mouth hanging open.
"Hehe… Zorua! Use Copycat!"
"Chi!"
Seeing Wattson and Voltorb momentarily stunned, Liam smiled and quickly gave his command.
After hearing the order, Zorua's round body flashed with white light, and golden electricity burst out just like Voltorb's!
"Vol-torb!!"
With a sharp cry, Voltorb—still distracted—was struck directly by the attack.
"Ah! Voltorb!"
Wattson only snapped out of his daze after Voltorb had already been hit. Although Electric-type moves didn't deal much damage to Voltorb, he still felt a bit regretful.
"Voltorb! Charge in with Spark!"
"Vol-torb!!"
Wattson quickly issued the command. Voltorb's body crackled with golden lightning, which scattered Zorua's Thunder Shock. Then Voltorb turned into a streak of electricity and rushed straight at Zorua!
"Zorua! Use Copycat!"
"Chi-Chi-Chi!"
Electric light flashed on both sides. Zorua, using Copycat, was also surrounded by lightning as it charged forward and collided head-on with Voltorb!

Electricity exploded through the air.
"Vol!"

Neither side gained the advantage. Both were pushed backward by the recoil.

A dark sphere formed quickly in front of Zorua's mouth before being launched forward!

The golden Electro Ball and the black Shadow Ball collided in midair and exploded violently, filling the battlefield with thick smoke.

"Fine! If that's the case—Voltorb! Use Self-Destruct!"

Sweat appeared on Wattson's forehead. Seeing that Voltorb couldn't find Zorua in the smoke, he gritted his teeth and ordered the desperate move.
A massive explosion erupted, sending a powerful shockwave across the field and instantly blowing away the smoke.
When the smoke cleared, the three spectators outside the field saw—
At the center of the battlefield, Voltorb lay inside a large crater, its eyes crossed out.
Not far away, Zorua also lay on the ground with spinning eyes.
Both had lost the ability to battle.
