Chapter 552 - Chapter 552: Number One Disciple?

Ethan looked at the time again and saw that it was just noon. He wondered what Tony was busy with at this hour.

"Jarvis!"

Tony had already expanded Jarvis's area of responsibility to include his residence, so Ethan tried calling out.

"Yes, sir."

"What's Tony busy with?"

"Mr. Stark is currently engaged in meditation practice. He previously instructed me to inform you upon your return that the Prometheus has been largely refitted and requires your attention to see if any further improvements are needed."

Ethan nodded. Jarvis could observe Ethan's body language through scanning, and his level of intelligence was enough to understand the meaning of these gestures.

"Tell Tony I'll be over shortly."

After greeting Jarvis, Ethan lowered his head and saw Leah staring wide-eyed, looking around curiously, wondering where the sound had come from.

Ethan realized Leah would need a considerable amount of time to adapt to this completely different world.

His current strength allowed him to use magic to transmit knowledge directly into Leah's mind, but if the information was too large, her young body might not be able to handle it.

Even though she possessed Diablo's bloodline, this lineage was mostly hidden deep within her body and did not directly enhance her physique.

Given this situation, Ethan suspected these bloodlines contained fragments of Diablo's spirit or soul, and that in times of need, the Great Demon King could directly use Leah's body and sufficient power from the seven demon lords to resurrect. It would still be Diablo, not some other demon.

So before he was confident, he wasn't going to trigger this imprint. He would wait until he was ready to completely resolve this hidden danger.

For now, he transmitted the knowledge of the English language to Leah.

Although Leah was young, the knowledge of a single language was not beyond a child's tolerance. Moreover, her physical constitution was still better than Ethan's when he was an ordinary person. After receiving this new language, Leah didn't feel discomfort. After a brief period of adaptation, she could even converse in it, though haltingly.

"This is the language used here. From now on, you'll be with me, and you'll need to learn more languages and a lot of knowledge."

"This... should... be... very... interesting... right..."

Leah spoke haltingly, and her pronunciation was a little strange, but this was normal. With frequent use, it would gradually improve, the speed depending on her talent.

For young Leah, suddenly arriving in a completely unfamiliar world, facing strangers, and having new knowledge to learn helped her focus her attention instead of worrying too much about her unsettling circumstances.

Having been with Deckard Cain for the past few years, Leah had also been influenced by him and felt that learning more knowledge was a good thing. She wasn't resistant to it and even liked it.

"Good, as long as you like it!"

What a good child who likes to learn...

Laura, on the other hand, was a complete slacker in academics. Her current knowledge level was only that of a middle school graduate. All her talent was concentrated in combat.

Sherry was a second-generation scientist. Both her parents were top scientists. Although she inherited her parents' talent, she had little interest in research. Her grades weren't bad, but she preferred hands-on activities and spent her days playing with Laura and Modred, which often made Annette depressed.

As for Modred, she was only slightly better than being illiterate. She crammed desperately and barely completed the basics. The knowledge that followed would require her to take time to learn slowly.

It was clear that although Modred was determined to inherit her father's empire, she had not yet reached the age where she could sit still and study dry knowledge. It would probably take many years before her knowledge level improved significantly.

For now, she could just play to her heart's content.

The most diligent was Galahad, the outlier among the younger generation. Most of the time, he was either working hard on combat techniques or practicing magic. In his remaining time, he diligently learned everything he could access.

Not just combat-related things, but also medicine, civil affairs, documentaries, history books, and even biographical novels. He was like a dry sponge, frantically absorbing water.

The current Galahad was already qualified to be Modred's teacher. In the future, even if Modred's basics were weak, she wouldn't need to worry about knowledge gaps as long as Galahad stood firmly behind her.

Considering Galahad's character and loyalty, this shouldn't be difficult.

Arthur's choice of Galahad had been very correct.

Now, there was another good student on the ship. Annette must be very happy, right?

"Maybe she'll become even more depressed because of this?"

The favored daughter she placed high hopes on was unwilling to follow the path she planned, while another child she barely knew was charging forward on the path she wanted most. Wasn't this the legendary "child from another family"?

His thoughts drifted further and further. Ethan estimated Tony was about to come out for lunch. Although Tony and Ethan no longer needed to eat frequently, they still retained the habits of ordinary people.

For them, eating had changed from a necessity to pure enjoyment, and Tony in particular knew how to enjoy himself.

"Let's go, I'll take you to eat first."

Leah picked up her things again when she heard this. Ethan looked at her bundle and, after thinking about it, decided not to make her put it down yet.

If her belongings were left here, they might be thrown away by cleaning staff.

As for carrying them for her? He wasn't sure if Leah would be willing to hand them over. She might still need time to adapt.

Before leaving, Ethan specifically told Jarvis, "Tell Tony I'll be waiting for him in the living room."

"Okay, sir."

Tony's house was so large that as long as they didn't enter the bedrooms, they wouldn't easily stumble onto anything they shouldn't see.

Plus, Tony knew Ethan liked to teleport directly, so he wouldn't do anything inappropriate in the main living room.

To Ethan's surprise, as soon as he and Leah stepped through the portal, they found Tony waiting with a smug look, holding a wine glass.

There were many dishes from all over the world laid out on the coffee table in front of him, clearly prepared on purpose.

"When Jarvis told me you were back, I guessed you'd come around lunchtime."

For this, he ended his meditation early today, had several chefs prepare this international spread, then poured himself a glass of wine and posed, waiting for Ethan.

"How long have you been holding that pose?"

"I don't understand what you mean!"

The slight panic in Tony's eyes didn't escape Ethan's notice. What made Tony more exasperated was that Jarvis, his most trusted assistant, betrayed him.

"Sir, I must remind you that maintaining the same posture for a long time is not beneficial to your health."

Not only was Ethan laughing happily, but Leah also understood that the bearded uncle in front of her had deliberately posed and waited. This person was really interesting.

An embarrassed Tony quickly changed the subject. He had been observing the little girl next to Ethan from the beginning.

"What's with this kid? Don't tell me she's your daughter!"

Considering Ethan could control the flow of time in two worlds, he could have a child in another world, wait for her to grow up, and then bring her back.

"I didn't stay in that world that long."

"Then is she a bloodline you left behind before? Did you specifically go to pick her up this time?"

Ethan's face darkened. He realized Tony was deliberately steering the conversation this way, clearly retaliating for Ethan exposing his pretentious act earlier. Wasn't it Jarvis who exposed him?

"What? You have a child?"

At that moment, Pepper appeared. Judging from her work suit, she had just come from the company.

Seeing Pepper, Tony gave Ethan a helpless look and got up to take the things from her hand.

"I told you, I won't suddenly go to another world with Ethan this time."

"... "

So, Pepper had rushed back from the company because she heard Ethan was back and wanted to keep a close eye on Tony?

"I didn't come to stop you from going out to play." Pepper didn't want to seem like the kind of girlfriend who tightly controlled her boyfriend. "Actually, I wanted to say, you must take me this time. I haven't been to another world yet! You don't know, every time Tony comes back, he talks about how amazing those worlds are, it's really irritating."

"I'll definitely take you next time."

After a brief chat, Pepper turned her attention to Leah.

"This child is..."

Then she looked at Ethan suspiciously. Could she really be Ethan's daughter from another world? Thinking about it, he wasn't young anymore, and as a man with normal orientation, it wasn't strange for him to have a daughter somewhere.

"This is Leah!" Ethan thought for a moment, deciding not to mention the Diablo bloodline. Instead, he gave Leah another identity. "I think she possesses extraordinary talent, so I plan to take her as my disciple."
