The teleportation device was built by Ethan piece by piece, and the most sensible decision was that the device used a modular design, making it easy to disassemble and reassemble.
He could easily pack it up and transfer it to the new ship. The teleportation room reserved on the new ship was much larger than the one here, allowing for additional single teleportation spots and expansion of the multi-person teleportation area.
After completing everything, he looked around again, then took a tour of the Moonlight Goddess before heading to the control room to shut down all the ship's systems.
Looking at the surroundings as they dimmed into darkness, Ethan sighed.
"Another ship, another home."
He had Tony go directly to the Endless, partly because he didn't want to deal with it anymore. Even though he had lived on each ship for many years, such frequent moves still made him a bit uneasy.
If possible, he hoped his Divine Kingdom would grow faster. However, that small world was currently undergoing rapid transformation, and because of that, he couldn't even go to the island to sunbathe or soak in hot springs for now.
Still, he devoted some energy to observing the evolution of the Divine Kingdom. This kind of world-level evolution was greatly beneficial to him, and perhaps just by 'watching,' he might suddenly gain some insight and significantly improve his strength.
Unfortunately, although he had gained some understanding and his strength had indeed improved, the increase wasn't dramatic. It wasn't like he suddenly fell into a trance, sat still for years, and then woke up to become instantly invincible.
It was a pity. Ethan felt his comprehension was still lacking, and he could only continue leveling up honestly.
Teleporting outside the Moonlight Goddess, Ethan took out a prepared item and stored the Moonlight Goddess inside.
It now appeared as a miniature version of the Moonlight Goddess suspended within a watermelon-sized glass sphere with a base.
After holding the item and examining it for a while to ensure it was stored safely and wouldn't encounter any problems, he turned and stepped toward the Venus.
With just one step, he stopped and had already arrived inside the Venus.
By this time, everyone had finished organizing their belongings.
The large Venus had plenty of space. Each crew member had a luxurious personal room, and even the 'dormitory area' for the temporarily stationed soldiers had an excellent internal environment. Each person had their own single room. Even though Anna and Duke were in a relationship, they still had separate rooms.
After sorting out their personal affairs, everyone gathered in a relatively open area to sit and chat.
The conference room felt too formal, so almost everyone chose the cafeteria as a shared space.
Seeing a large group seated at the dining tables, Shirou instinctively walked into the kitchen, began organizing and counting the ingredients, then started preparing some food for everyone.
When Ethan arrived, everyone was chatting in small groups, while the original crew members were gathered at one table.
"All done?"
"Yeah!"
Logan tilted his head toward the nearby group of newcomers.
"Why are there so many more people all of a sudden?"
"Mordred is leaving soon."
"Oh."
Some of the people here already knew the situation, while others didn't and were just as curious. But everyone quietly waited for Ethan to return, for the captain to explain.
The schedule afterward was simple. Shirou made a few simple dishes, everyone ate something to fill their stomachs, and then Ethan led them on a tour.
The tour focused on a few key areas, including the living quarters with multiple training rooms, cafeteria, and dormitories, the storage area for supplies and weapons, the hangar housing the fighters, the bridge area with piloting and command zones, and the crucial power area.
Other sections could wait, but these areas had to be familiarized first. As for the ship's various weapons, Logan and the others could slowly adapt to them. With Luna onboard, there was no need to worry about them not understanding how to operate things.
Mordred and her group didn't need to engage with these functions for now. They were just temporarily staying on the Venus, and whether they would become her true subordinates was still uncertain.
After the tour and getting familiar with the general environment, Ethan went to the teleportation bay to install and configure the teleportation device, reestablishing contact with various worlds. Only then did he take everyone to the conference room for a brief meeting to catch up on everyone's recent situation.
This wasn't for Ethan's benefit, but so everyone could know what their companions had been working on recently.
Annette's pharmaceutical company was progressing well and had shown promising results. She had also helped Mordred recruit so many people in a short time.
Most of those veterans had been recruited from the Resident Evil world. Annette was also monitoring the BSAA, the anti-bioterrorism organization. If possible, she was considering bringing the BSAA into the fold, as the organization showed great potential.
Her reason for focusing on the BSAA was, of course, because of Ethan. Chris, whom Ethan had mentioned, was one of the organization's founders.
There was no need to mention Mordred. She had been running around non-stop just to recruit subordinates. Unfortunately, she had only managed to gather some ordinary people and had yet to find anyone with special abilities.
"Are you going to continue?"
Mordred hesitated for a moment, then shook her head.
"No, I'm planning to take these people with me for a test, which also serves as a screening. Is that alright?"
"No problem."
The final test Ethan had originally planned for Mordred was to have her adapt to a world with a more advanced technological civilization. As long as she could adapt, that would be enough. He didn't even require her to achieve anything specific.
As for bringing a group of subordinates? That wasn't an issue either. If Mordred could acquire large amounts of interstellar-era technological data, learn how to fight interstellar wars, or guide her nation toward becoming a spacefaring civilization while training a capable team, then she would have far exceeded expectations.
With such an outstanding successor, Arthur should be satisfied. He himself would have lived up to his comrade's trust.
After thinking for a moment, Mordred stated her intention.
She planned to test and screen her subordinates, but she couldn't just throw them into danger without offering something in return. So, she needed to get something from Ethan to reward the veterans.
Ethan also felt that some compensation was appropriate. He had plenty of good things anyway, so this wasn't a problem.
In the end, Mordred selected a batch of the lowest-grade enhancement potions. This potion could restore an ordinary person's physical condition to its peak, eliminate any latent illnesses, and maintain peak condition for many years.
For example, if an average person peaked at twenty-five and stayed that way for several years before declining after thirty, the potion would allow them to maintain that peak state for at least thirty years. With proper self-care, they could even extend it to forty years. For ordinary people who rarely live past one hundred, this meant their physical decline would only begin very late in life and would happen slowly.
For an average person, this was already a miracle drug. For veterans, it not only extended their careers but also gave them greater physical advantage, making it a dream reward.
"After this mission, I plan to give them one last chance to choose."
Those willing to stay could remain. Those who felt the work was too risky or had only come for quick profit could leave at that point.
Ethan had no opinion on this and let Mordred make her own decisions.
After Mordred finished, the others shared their recent updates in turn.
O'Connell, Jonathan, Evelyn, Lara, and Selene had been shuttling between the Starship Troopers and Resident Evil worlds. They didn't have fixed tasks and simply went where help was needed, following their own preferences.
Imhotep and Anck-su-namun were still managing the temple. Imhotep said the temple in the Starship Troopers world had reached its limit, and he was considering expanding into the Resident Evil world.
"Discuss it with Annette and figure it out yourselves."
Logan, on the other hand, had been spending time with Atlanna. He also revealed some things to her. Atlanna had been thinking about giving up her throne to be with Logan, but the issue of a successor was troubling her, since she and Logan still didn't have any children.
Even if they did, Logan wouldn't want to leave their child behind to become king.
Illya and the others didn't need to be mentioned. They were still studying at Hogwarts.
Besides Nebula and Betty, who lived on the ship permanently, and Auriel, who always hid on the island (and didn't show up even during storms or abnormal weather), there were also Ada and Scáthach.
Scáthach didn't need mentioning either. She was never seen all day, having fun roaming different worlds, and would likely continue that way.
"My work there is done. I can move on to the next task."
Ada's next mission was to steal the technical data related to the Endless. Previously, she had wanted to gather all the Macross tech data, and with the wait for the new ship's completion, this mission had been delayed.
"You're not managing that little singer you signed anymore?"
"Why? Are you interested in that kid?"
"..."
Ethan didn't respond, turning to look at Sherry, who promptly showed everyone her results.
"The data on the Valkyries... and Tekkaman is all here."
(To be continued.)
