Chapter 1013 - Chapter 1014: Gains

After calling Evelyn and settling the matters at hand, the three of them came together to the Marvel Universe.

This was the world most familiar to everyone in the team. Most of the time, when they wanted to find a place for vacation, they would choose to come to this world instead of heading to the Starship Troopers world, which was a key development area.

They had luxurious residences and ample money in this world, and the various living facilities were advanced enough. Unlike some worlds with "ancient" backgrounds, where the living facilities and sanitary conditions were too backward, making life uncomfortable.

Evelyn, O'Connell, and the others, who were used to "modern" life, had long since left "their" world behind.

And this time, Ethan suddenly asked if they had any thoughts of going home.

"Home?"

The few of them exchanged glances. They had almost forgotten that world and had gradually come to regard Ethan's place as their home.

The most crucial point was that neither O'Connell, Evelyn, nor Jonathan had many relatives, so they had no lingering attachments in that world.

"Actually, I've already gotten used to this current life."

How great was this life now? They could go to any world they wanted, get anything they desired, and continuously evolve and improve. According to Ethan's description, their boss had already entered a considerably high realm and was now a deity.

Following such a boss, even if they could not become true deities, they could rely on divine grace to become divine servants or subordinate gods. Even just relying on the various potions Ethan created, with a little effort of their own, the realm of a demigod would not be unattainable.

"Why did you suddenly bring this up?"

Could it be that the boss was displeased with them and wanted to send them home? That should not be the reason, right? O'Connell felt that he had always performed well.

He had indeed always performed very well. Many tasks on the ship that seemed not very difficult but were a bit troublesome were handled by O'Connell and the others. Without them, the two worlds serving as bases, Starship Troopers and Resident Evil, would not have developed so smoothly.

"It's just that recently, I wanted to go back and settle the grudges that need to be settled."

Although it had not been mentioned, Anubis's name had always been written in the little notebook. Not mentioning it before was because there was no point. Now that his strength was finally sufficient, how could he not go back and get even?

So he wanted to ask these few if they had any thoughts of going back home to take a look. If they did, they could just go together along the way.

"I see!"

Evelyn and O'Connell looked at each other, then exchanged glances with Evelyn's brother, Jonathan. Jonathan immediately spread his hands, indicating that he had no interest in going back.

"I don't want to go back at all. How great is it here? I can do whatever I want to my heart's content."

Here, he had money, looks, and leisure. He could do whatever he wanted. If he was truly depressed or unhappy, he could even go to Starship Troopers and be a war hero for a while, enjoying the admiration of countless soldiers without having to worry about dying in battle.

What could he do back in his own world? The backward living environment, and he would be confined to that small planet for his entire life. Even if he could use his power to become the planet's leader after going back, he had no interest.

"We're pretty much the same!"

Seeing that Evelyn and O'Connell had the same attitude, Ethan stopped disturbing their vacation. After asking them if they had any thoughts about the divine realm as their new home, he received a similar response to Logan's. It depended on how Ethan arranged things when the time came.

In any case, they knew Ethan. Ethan had always had high standards for living environments and would not settle if he could live comfortably. In this situation, they were not worried at all that their future living environment would be bad.

As for the new home being boring? They, who could freely travel to countless worlds, had no such worries at all.

Ethan understood the situation now, but he would still continue to ask. Knowing the other person's thoughts was one thing, but not asking at all was another.

Having come to the Marvel Universe, besides meeting with these few who had come to relax, he also had to see Tony.

Unexpectedly, before Ethan could go find Tony, Maria Hill and Nick Fury came knocking first.

"You guys are watching this place twenty-four hours a day."

"That's inevitable."

Fury spread his hands. Even if he was not watching, others would be. Ethan's identity was too special. No one with a normal mind would ignore an existence like him.

"What brings you here?"

"Just consider that I'm simply here to chat with you."

Fury was truly just here to chat idly with Ethan. Maria Hill had trained under Ethan for several years and, after returning, helped the government establish a comprehensive special abilities team, which played a huge role in curbing superpowered criminals in this world. In this situation, they also hoped to maintain a good relationship with Ethan and, if possible, secure more "study abroad spots."

"Is your superior only keeping an eye on me? Haven't you thought about sending some talented people to study in Asgard?"

Asgard and Earth had a decent relationship in this world, especially after Thor became the King of Asgard, establishing formal official contact with Earth, although Earth firmly refused to acknowledge that it was territory under Asgardian rule.

However, Thor did not mind such things, because most of the areas under Asgardian rule were very loosely governed. Apart from Asgard itself, the other major realms were in a laissez-faire state, and there were also many races there that did not recognize Asgard's ruling status.

Generally speaking, as long as they were not raising armies and openly declaring war on Asgard, Asgard would not bother with these "natives." The Earth government was seen in this light by the Asgardians.

"Actually, we've already discussed this issue with Thor, but Asgard seems to be having some trouble recently."

"Oh?"

"For specifics, you can ask Tony. The Avengers know much more than I do."

The current Avengers were a semi-official group and did not have much involvement with Nick Fury. A lot of internal information was not disclosed externally. Although Fury knew some things, he did not want to say them, as that would expose the fact that he had channels to obtain internal Avengers information.

"I'll ask him later."

Neither Thor nor Tony had sent him a message. What was happening in Asgard might not be a big deal, but going to join the fun might also pass the time.

After casually chatting with Nick Fury for a few more sentences, Fury and Maria Hill announced their departure. As for the matter of sending more "exchange students," Ethan had not discussed it with him in depth. He was indifferent to such things. Once the divine realm was established, he could send as many people as he wanted. After all, once trained, they would all be prospective citizens of Ethan's divine realm.

"Are you going to find Tony next?"

Selene had been sitting quietly beside him and only asked Ethan, who seemed lost in thought, after Fury left.

"Mm."

He estimated in his mind that he had already checked in with the crew members on the ship. The remaining ones like Illya, Leah, and Tohsaka Rin were still studying at Hogwarts. He could just tell them when they returned for the holidays.

Laura, Sherry, and Emiya Shirou had gone off to the Tekkaman Blade world again to "save the world." Scáthach and Ada had actually gone over to Modred's place. It seemed Modred had asked Ada for help, and Ada, having nothing much to do, went over to have some fun.

"After seeing Tony, I'll go check on Modred, and finally go find Arthur."

He thought about it. Unless there were any unexpected circumstances, this would be his itinerary.

Since he had already greeted Jarvis upon arrival, Ethan did not need to specifically go find Tony Stark. As long as Tony was not busy, he would quickly come over to find him.

In fact, he did not have to wait long. Tony soon landed in Ethan's backyard on his private jet. He had been traveling around with Pepper, and upon learning that Ethan had arrived, he immediately rushed over.

"I feel like you've changed a lot again. Is that my imagination?"

"It's not your imagination. Your senses have become sharper, Tony."

"Oh, that's terrible news. Has the gap widened again?"

"It's alright!"

After exchanging greetings, Ethan, as was customary, explained his situation during this period, letting Tony understand why there had been such a significant change again.

"So, you're now a deity who can control various cosmic rules at will?"

"It's not that exaggerated, but it's close enough."

He then remembered what Fury had said and asked what was happening with Asgard.

"Thor's place? They're fighting a war recently."

"Fighting a war? With whom?"

"Thanos!"

Ethan was taken aback, then thought about it and realized it was not surprising.

Thanos was a purple titan with ambitions. To achieve his lifelong wish, he would not give up just because his opponent was strong. After realizing there was no better way, it was not strange for him to choose the most direct method.

"Has Thanos made a move against Asgard?"

"A full-scale war hasn't truly broken out yet. Currently, it's just small-scale conflicts, but Steve has already gone to Asgard, and the Avengers are also ready to provide support at any time."

This was also why Tony was not holed up somewhere doing research. He was preparing for war, ready to go support Thor in Asgard at any time.

"Looks like I arrived just in time."

Thinking about it, the timeline was also roughly when Thanos would make his move. He had originally thought that with Asgard's strength increasing, Thanos would choose to lie low and wait for a better opportunity.

"Yeah, it saved me the trouble of sending a message."

Tony said this, but in reality, he had no intention of sending a message asking for help. Initially, he planned to rely on Asgard and the Avengers to fight Thanos, and only ask Ethan for help if they truly could not hold on.

He did not expect Ethan to arrive at this exact moment. Having encountered him, he would not deliberately conceal this matter.

As if seeing through Tony's thoughts, Ethan waved his hand directly, indicating that he would not steal the kill from their group.

"Thanos is yours. I'll just watch!"

Just at this moment, Ethan suddenly felt someone "peeping" at the timeline.
