The trip to the coffee shop was smooth, It was a 10 minute walk and filled with silence, just people chatting on the sidewalks and cars passing by. I didn't wanna face what I had ahead of me and Brook hasn't spoken a word ever since we left my apartment, but eventually I have to explain everything to her. She also has some explaining to do on her side too because why bring up Zayne like they are close and stuff.
"We are here", Brooklyn buzzed me out of thoughts quickly, I didn't pay attention to where we were going at all.
We were approached by a waiter, tall and slime with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He seemed to be nice and he smelled like tropical fruits....he might be gay but it's none of my business. Since it was a bit sunny we chose to sit outside and he kindly handed us the menus and gave us some time to decide what we wanted. I just stared at it, indecisive as always so I turned to Brook for help and she immediately understood.
"We will just order hot chocolate and decide what to eat later", she suggested.
"Okay..", I placed the menu down and started looking around, then I remembered the conversation we were having earlier.
"So...back to earlier, how in the hell did you get in contact with my man?", I spoke in a low voice, turning the conversation serious now.
"MAN??", she busted out laughing as if I made a joke
We got interrupted by the waiter asking if we were ready to order and as told before, she ordered two hot chocolates for us and thanked him before he finally left our table to finish our little chit-chat.
"As I was saying, yes 'My Man' . What's funny about what I just said?"
She raised an eyebrow, "Does your so called 'man' know about Caleb?, huh? or should I te--", she said while reaching for her phone.
I immediately grabbed it from across the table and to her surprise she was too stunned to speak.
"What has gotten into you?, are you trying to ruin my relationship or something? and how do you know about my personal stuff because I never told anyone.", I placed the phone in my bag, far away from her while still trying to figure out why she's acting all weird today.
"You know you're my friend...but..". she pauses for a second before taking a deep breathe, as if what she's about to say will either ruin our friendship or not.
"But...?". I tilted my head to the side.
"Here are your two hot chocolates", the waiter came in between us and placed them on each opposite sides of the table.
"You have no business being involved into a situationship and stuff like that. You're hurting other people too, like someone who loves you so much but you can't see it."
It hit me hard like a nail in the head would. I know this comes from a place of love and she's worried about me as a friend. I had to do better as a friend. I had other motives in mind, and it's not my fault i fell for two people.
"I understand and I get the fact that it's unfair for Zayne, but I can't let go of...you know..him", I took a sip of my coffee and looked down.
"I hear you and I'm trying to look out for you. I understand and...", She paused and grabbed my hands to hold me tightly.
"Look at me.."
I kept staring at the ground trying to keep my tears from rolling out. I could tell she knew by how she immediately held onto me.
'I will be fine' I thought to myself
