The narrative revolves around Ryuta's adventures and Merlin's efforts to unravel mysteries, all while their leader, Jay, faces a looming threat to his nation.
Eager to find others like himself who were brought to this world, Ryuta embarks on a quest. He frequently asks those he encounters if they, too, were summoned, and among all those he meets, he discovers two individuals who share his experience: Alexia and Roy.
Alexia, an 18-year-old student, reveals that she was out buying food for school when she suddenly fell asleep, only to awaken in an unfamiliar room. That fragments the extent of her memory. Shortly after their introduction, the door swings open, revealing the mysterious man who assisted Ryuta.
"Hi, um—who are you?" Alexia asks hesitantly.
"Are you a good guy?" she follows up.
"I'm just here to help; that's all that matters to me," the stranger replies.
Alexia recounts how this enigmatic figure came to her aid, after which he resumes his own exploration.
Roy, the youngest at 17, is also a student. Unlike Alexia, he has no recollection of how he arrived in this new world or the events leading up to it.
As their conversation unfolds, Ryuta confesses that he shares the same uncertainty. Together, they decide to venture through the country in search of others who might have experienced a similar summons or fate.
