Chapter 200: The Final Script
The sudden explosion of Mechanical Colossus left humanity in utter confusion.
Everything had seemed so promising. Humanity was on the verge of successfully counterattacking the Titan Beasts, about to kill Godzilla—the King of the Monsters. Once Godzilla was eliminated, the other Titans would no longer be a threat. So why had they failed?
"King Ghidorah lost control."
"When Godzilla tore through Mechanical Colossus's armor, the Ghidorah tissue inside suddenly reacted..."
"So, there's something about the Titans we still don't understand? Residual consciousness?"
"They were never something we could fully comprehend in the first place."
"Is this it for humanity? Is there no more hope?"
…
Chang Wei watched as Godzilla reeled in a daze from the explosion of the Mechanical Colossus, struggling to make sense of what had just happened.
"The Handsome Kong is finally about to make his entrance. What a shame—I was thinking of dyeing his scales gold."
After considering it for a moment, Chang Wei dismissed the idea. If he dyed them gold and the "Handsome Kong" lost, it would feel even worse. Better to leave things as they were.
Godzilla roared toward the sky, declaring himself the strongest King of the Monsters, then dove back into the ocean to sleep.
During this time, both humanity and the Titans fell into an eerie state of calm.
The difference was that humanity quickly snapped out of their confusion—because of Devil Fruits.
These miraculous fruits from the Creator's island drove humanity into a frenzy.
They worshiped those who consumed Devil Fruits as "demigods," and a grand movement to create gods was set into motion.
This wasn't surprising. People always sought a spiritual anchor. Since Chang Wei couldn't be bothered with them and hadn't appeared in person, they had no choice but to turn to those lucky enough to eat the Devil Fruits.
The status, honor, and authority of these "demigods" made them the de facto leaders of humanity. However, behind the scenes, real control remained in the hands of the true power-holders.
These power-holders took pride in their clever manipulation, failing to realize that reverence for strength was an innate biological instinct. Without it, leadership and hierarchy wouldn't exist in the first place.
Throughout history, humanity has classified people as excellent, ordinary, or inferior based on physical prowess and intelligence.
When faced with physically strong individuals, most people thought, "The gap isn't that big—I could do that too."
But when faced with those with vastly superior intellect, they resigned themselves: "No point competing—top students and bottom feeders live in different worlds."
Now, however, the gap was even greater.
These so-called "demigods" weren't just products of a god-making movement or mere admiration—they had truly transcended humanity.
Compared to them, the so-called power-holders—who lacked exceptional intelligence and were physically on par with ordinary humans—how much longer could they maintain their grip on power?
At first, they could still hold on. But as the god-making movement progressed and the demigods grew stronger, their followers would begin to question:
"Why should I serve some old, frail, useless guy who can't even beat me in a fight and isn't particularly smart?"
"And once these demigods get a taste of being worshiped, they won't be satisfied with just that—they'll want more."
Chang Wei had left behind plenty of Devil Fruits capable of upending human civilization.
Even Homelander cared about public opinion. These demigods might as well, but they had something even greater—raw power.
Never forget: History is written by the victors. And in a world still recovering from devastation, nothing mattered more than strength.
The real danger lay in the possibility that one of these demigods would emerge as a dictator or a warlord, leading to an all-out battle of the gods.
This, in turn, drove even more people to seek demigod status, leading them to Skull Island.
It became a battle royale, with so many participants that the map could barely contain them all.
"This is ridiculous. There's a whole mob of people rushing to their deaths."
Chang Wei shook his head. Of course, he understood it was human greed at play. But it was this very greed that had driven humanity to explore new lands and grow stronger. Otherwise, they'd still be worrying about lions and tigers instead of ruling the planet.
Still, things couldn't continue this way. If they did, humanity's future would be utterly ruined—by his own hand.
Chang Wei enjoyed his little games, but he wasn't planning on destroying the world. Even in Resident Evil, he had left behind a spark of hope.
He had already gained plenty from the hundreds of Ultra Ghidorah-Godzillas he had harvested. Since he wasn't planning to anchor himself to this world, he was still coming out ahead.
With that in mind, he had no reason to bring about total destruction.
He also had no interest in turning this world into another One Piece, so he wasn't going to leave behind too many Devil Fruits.
"If that's the case, then let Skull Island be the final battlefield. Godzilla and the Handsome Kong will battle to the death, destroying the island in the process..."
Chang Wei found his script to be quite satisfactory—certainly better than the original garbage plot.
With the decision made, it was time to set the stage and bring in the actors.
"Humanity has to rely on itself in the end. Time to wake them up."
Chang Wei declared righteously.
After all, the Devil Fruits he had spread couldn't regenerate. Once the so-called demigods were wiped out, everything would return to normal.
Less than a month into his slumber, Godzilla suddenly sensed the emergence of another King of the Monsters.
Instantly, he snapped awake, fully alert.
"ROOOOAAAARRR!!"
Godzilla would never tolerate another King. There were only two choices: submission or death.
"Bad news! We're detecting a high-energy signature consistent with Godzilla!"
"It disappeared for less than a month and now it's resurfaced? What is it planning?"
Although most of humanity's attention was focused on Skull Island, they still kept a close watch on Godzilla.
No matter how strong the demigods were, they were still just dominant among their own kind. Humanity's leaders understood all too well that they remained powerless against the Titan Beasts.
So they had to stay vigilant at all times.
The moment Godzilla moved, they reacted immediately.
"Godzilla's trajectory... It might pass through Skull Island!"
When they analyzed its path, the locations at the start didn't elicit much response. But when Skull Island was mentioned, their expressions changed drastically.
"Why is Godzilla heading to the origin island?"
"Could it be that Godzilla is challenging the gods again?"
"But it just lost not too long ago! Even if it's stronger now, the gap between it and the Creator is still far too great!"
That was the entity capable of controlling tsunamis—the Creator.
No matter how powerful Godzilla became, it was still hopelessly weak against the vast oceans of the planet.
No matter how they looked at it, it was impossible for Godzilla to be a match for a god.
"This is bad. Whether Godzilla wins or loses, it will affect us!"
At last, humanity realized how critical Skull Island had become to their future.
