Chapter 32 - Registering in the Mercenary Guild

For the next hour, Orion worked in silence.

One by one, he connected to every CredChip and CredCard he had taken, breaking through their security and pulling the credits inside.

The numbers kept rising.

When he was done, he didn't leave the money scattered.

He gathered everything into just a few CredChips and CredCards, keeping it neat and easier to carry.

In this galaxy, credits came in different values.

The smallest unit was a single Credit, barely worth anything on its own.

A hundred Credits made a Standard Credit.

A thousand Standard Credits became a Mega Credit.

And a thousand Mega Credits formed a Giga Credit, an amount most people would never see in their lifetime.

Orion mostly used CredChips and CredCards to store his money.

CredChips were thin, round disks, small enough to sit in his palm.

Each one could hold up to a million Credits.

CredCards were larger, shaped like smooth black cards with glowing holo-strips across the surface.

They could hold ten times more than a CredChip.

Once everything was finished, Orion leaned back and let out a slow breath.

The total he had was a little under a million Standard Credit

Once he was done, he grabbed his bag and walked out.

As he walked through the mercenary stronghold towards the he grabbed his actual Star Watch and but in on.

{Direct Connection (Hard-link Jack): Online}

{Connecting Star Watch to HUD system}

{HUD connected successfully}

With this not only did he not need to use a smart glass or Optic-lens, but he could also control his star watch with his mind.

Again, he did a quick search of the star watch, but nothing popped up so he let it be.

He walked until he arrived in front of a huge building with the main hall that was bigger than any he had ever seen.

Human subspecies could be seen throughout the building doing their business. Some sat, some were walking around while other simply conversed with each other.

One constant was that everyone was fully clad in battle gear.

Ther mercenary guild or alliance is a powerful organization made up of people of all races that offered their weapons for hire.

It could be found in every part of the known galaxy although there were often restrictions placed on them based on their location, however because of the service they provided everyone wanted them.

The mercenary ranks their mercenaries with different levels and the difficulty of a mission, the value of reward, operation funds, and other benefits all depend on your level.

Mercenaries are allowed to take whatever side they wanted and that was most often the one that paid the highest.

The Mercenary Alliance is an ancient organization, and like the Union Interstellar Bank, they never interfere in matters in space, however they do pay great attention to protecting the rights of both the clients and the mercenaries.

Multiple fist-sized metal balls could be seen floating around the great hall of the Mercenary Guild.

These balls would fly toward people with just a wave from their hands, forming a virtual screen upon contact.

This was a kind of an automatic management system that allowed the mercenaries to take on jobs on their own.

It could also be connected to their star watch and access it from there once one had registered.

Orion retrieved one of the balls and opened up the virtual interface.

"Please enter your mercenary account username to proceed." A robotic voice sounded out of the small ball.

Using the touch space on the ball, Orion selected the 'register' option and the screen changed.

After entering his identity number linked to his new identity. He stayed on the spot and also created a bank account by controlling his star watch which he then connected to his account.

Now client could automatically pay if for his services without needing to meet face to face to get Credit storage device.

Next, he was required to enter a mercenary name and his choice was simple. Mad Rift Dancer.

While the name was edgy, from what he could tell from the Star Net employers tend to like them.

Net a list of accomplishment and proof was require but for that he would have to go back to Alara to request them… Thankfully he didn't need to that now.

"Please prepare to be scanned." A simple light projected from the sphere which scanned him.

After a few seconds the voice came again, "Data collection complete. Creating file…"
