Chapter 300: The Confidence to Challenge the Entire Clear Sky Sect
At Tang Xiao's command, the atmosphere within the Clear Sky Sect surged with intensity. The prize for Dai Yao's head was no ordinary spirit bone but a Clear Sky Sect legacy spirit bone—one of the three precious bones perfectly suited to the Clear Sky Hammer spirit, capable of greatly enhancing its power.
Two of these bones had once been absorbed by Tang Hao, the sect's most infamous member. But with Tang San's return, those two bones were back within the sect, bringing the hope of reclaiming its lost prestige.
To receive such a legacy spirit bone meant a considerable increase in strength and also implied the recognition of the Sect Master, even eligibility to be his successor. Realizing the opportunity before them, the Clear Sky disciples' determination to kill Dai Yao intensified.
"Charge!"
Tang Long and Tang Hu led one hundred disciples each, attacking across two of the iron chain bridges with deafening shouts, brandishing their Clear Sky Hammers as they stormed toward Dai Yao. The roar of battle echoed through the mountains.
At the mountain gate, three figures in gray robes stood, watching the approaching battle with hardened expressions. Unlike Tang Long and Tang Hu, they bore a sense of age and weariness. These were Tang Xiao's brothers-in-arms, second-generation disciples.
Years ago, the sect's most promising second-generation talents had been hunted by Spirit Hall, leaving only a few survivors—those of lesser talent. Now, the highest among them had only reached level seventy-nine, as Spirit Sages.
The leader of the trio spoke gravely, "We cannot let this boy leave here alive, or he will surely become a threat to the Clear Sky Sect in the future."
"Should we join the fight? There are already two hundred disciples attacking," asked the middle-aged man on the left.
They were Spirit Sages, after all, and much older than Dai Yao. Taking part might appear as bullying the younger generation.
"We must join—and together!" declared the Third Elder, his voice firm.
The other two looked at him in surprise, confused by his resoluteness.
"The Sect Master and other elders are currently held up by those from Spirit Hall. We three elders must keep our hands clean to reserve our strength, leaving only you as the highest-ranked disciples able to fight."
"This is a critical moment! The sect's very survival is at stake—what need have we for concerns about appearances?"
Awakened by the Third Elder's words, the three Spirit Sages immediately summoned their Clear Sky Hammers, each hammer gleaming with seven spirit rings, the final one shining black.
In unison, their seventh rings flared as they activated their martial spirit true forms—their most powerful abilities—before even beginning the fight. Gripping their Clear Sky Hammers, they surged across the iron chain bridge, outpacing Tang Long and Tang Hu as they charged toward Dai Yao.
Seeing the three Spirit Sages advancing, Dai Yao, who had landed from the air, raised his guard to the utmost. This was the first wave of Clear Sky Sect's offensive; he would need to withstand it with all his might if he hoped to defeat them.
As the saying goes, "Momentum builds with the first attack, weakens with the second, and dissipates with the third." This first strike was bound to be their strongest. If he could hold his ground, their morale would suffer.
Five spirit rings rose around Dai Yao, his third and fifth rings flashing in tandem. With no hesitation, he activated both augmentation abilities: White Tiger Vajra Transformation and White Tiger Titan Transformation. The aura of an ancient beast emanated from him, striking fear into the hearts of the Clear Sky Sect disciples. Then, he extended the razor-sharp claws from his left hand.
"External spirit bone of the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear—Heavenly Rending Claw!"
With a battle cry, he slashed forward with a brilliant, deadly arc of energy toward the three Spirit Sages.
"Danger!" The lead Spirit Sage's eyes widened in shock as the claw's blinding aura sent chills down his spine.
"Can such a terrifying technique really come from a Spirit King? Tang San must have been a monster to have survived it!" he thought, stunned.
Moving in perfect harmony, the three Spirit Sages combined their strength, wielding their Clear Sky Hammers in unison to counter the radiant claw.
An ear-splitting screech echoed through the air as the three Spirit Sages were sent flying. Dai Yao, too, staggered back under the backlash of their combined power, gasping as he scanned the horde of over two hundred Clear Sky disciples charging toward him.
"Three Spirit Sages down for now… but there are still over two hundred spirit masters!" He forced down the surging blood in his chest, reactivating his third and fifth skills. Blocking three Spirit Sages in their true forms had taken a toll.
"Attack!"
The cries grew louder as the two hundred Clear Sky disciples surged forward, a relentless wave of hammer-wielding spirit masters charging Dai Yao. Despite his recent victory, they were undeterred, feeling invincible in their numbers.
"Roar!" Dai Yao's eyes, gleaming like those of a fierce tiger, grew cold, a trace of bloodlust flashing across them as he unleashed a roar that seemed to echo from his days in the Slaughter City.
Some of the disciples faltered, a glimmer of fear in their eyes. Seizing the moment, Dai Yao moved, a blur of lightning as he tore into their ranks.
Amid the furious clash, hammers shattered and blood splattered. In mere moments, ten Clear Sky disciples lay injured. If Dai Yao's rampage continued, how many would be left standing?
Horrified, Tang Long and Tang Hu cried out, "Everyone, fall back and prepare to execute the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique! Three senior uncles, keep him occupied so we have time to execute it!"
"Understood!" the Spirit Sages replied in unison.
The two hundred Clear Sky disciples swiftly retreated, and Dai Yao, noting the three Spirit Sages closing in, did not pursue.
The leader of the Spirit Sages shouted to the disciples, "Remember, once we reach the final strike of the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique, nothing can withstand its power—not even him!"
"Everyone, go!" shouted Tang Long.
The disciples, initially shaken by Dai Yao's ruthless attacks, regained their courage at Tang Long's command, and soon began unleashing the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique.
On the snowy mountain summit, two hundred swirling whirlwinds gradually formed, emitting a terrifying aura that even Title Douluo would find daunting. Floating in the sky above, Tang Xiao and the two elders observed the majestic scene, their faces breaking into pleased smiles.
"Master, Tang Long truly has potential; organizing a formation of this magnitude isn't easy. Now, it's only a matter of time before Dai Yao is defeated," said the Second Elder with a pleased smile as he stroked his beard.
Tang Xiao sighed. "Tang Long has strong leadership qualities, but his strength still falls short of inspiring full confidence in the sect."
The three fell silent. In past times, Tang Long would have been considered an outstanding talent among his generation. But with the arrival of Dai Yao, Tang Long's brilliance had been overshadowed.
The Second Elder suddenly spoke, a glimmer of realization in his eyes: "Sect Master, are you suggesting…?"
Tang Xiao looked toward the injured figure beside Tang Yuehua, his gaze steady. "Only Tang San, with his twin spirits, Killing God Domain, and the unique weapons he wielded today, has the potential to stop Dai Yao and lead the Clear Sky Sect to new heights."
"Seventh Elder, any objections?" Tang Xiao asked, his gaze falling on the Seventh Elder.
The Seventh Elder looked between Tang Xiao and the Second Elder, then sighed in resignation. "No, Master. Tang San has earned my respect."
Tang Xiao nodded with satisfaction. The path was now clear for Tang San's official return to the sect, and soon, Tang Xiao thought, he might finally be able to see Tang Hao again.
Abruptly, Tang Xiao felt a peculiar tingling sensation on his face. Instinctively, he rubbed his skin, but the numbness persisted.
"Master, is everything alright?" asked the Second Elder, noticing Tang Xiao's odd reaction.
"Nothing," Tang Xiao replied with a slight frown. "Perhaps I'm simply tense about finally eliminating Dai Yao. We must keep a close eye on Spirit Hall's three Title Douluo. We cannot let them rescue him."
The Second and Seventh Elders nodded, their expressions tense.
"We're in trouble! With over two hundred disciples using the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique, Dai Yao won't be able to hold out! We need to save him!" Lingyuan Douluo's face was filled with concern as she looked at Dai Yao, surrounded by the three Spirit Sages.
"Hold on," Chrysanthemum Douluo interjected, his eyes gleaming as he scrutinized Dai Yao. "Look closely. His spirit skills are becoming stronger. There's lightning accumulating in the sky."
"You remember Dai Yao's fourth spirit skill, right?"
Lingyuan Douluo and Ghost Douluo exchanged glances, their pupils contracting as they recalled, and Lingyuan Douluo exclaimed, "You mean his spirit skill that gains power the longer he charges it?"
Chrysanthemum Douluo chuckled softly. "Exactly. Back then, after fully charging his fourth spirit skill, he could unleash an attack comparable to the power of a Spirit Douluo. Now, after five years, who knows how much stronger it has become?"
"Perhaps this," Chrysanthemum Douluo said, his gaze unwavering, "is the confidence he has to challenge the entire Clear Sky Sect."
