Chapter 356 - Chapter 356: Reincarnation

After realizing that something was wrong, Xiao Yan immediately shot forward like a bolt of lightning, heading straight for Medusa's residence.

Within only a few minutes, he appeared inside her bedchamber.

The exquisite curtains swayed lightly in the air, veiling Medusa's alluring, voluptuous figure as she lay lazily on the bed.

Her curves were elegant and enchanting—like a masterpiece painted by divine hands, beautiful enough to make the heart tremble.

Xiao Yan walked slowly toward the bed, gazing down at the sleeping Medusa. Reaching out, he brushed aside a lock of hair from her forehead and chuckled softly. "Looks like you were a bit too tired last night."

As if sensing someone's presence, Medusa's long lashes fluttered, and her eyes slowly opened.

When she saw Xiao Yan's face so close, she jolted up in shock like a startled rabbit—kicking him off the bed with one swift motion. Crossing her arms defensively, her delicate cheeks flushed a deep red. "You?! Why is it you?!"

"Why is it me?" Xiao Yan blinked, confused. The way she was looking at him—it was as though she didn't even recognize him.

And that strength just now… was incredible. Rising from the floor, Xiao Yan's eyes suddenly widened as realization struck.

"No… you're not Medusa. You're the soul of the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python!"

This "Medusa" before him had no trace of Dou Qi at all—something he'd overlooked when he first entered because of distraction.

It seemed Medusa had entered the Reincarnation phase of cultivation. During this stage, her strength would vanish temporarily, but once she passed through it, both her power and potential would rise to new heights.

The Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python's soul, however, was far more adept at controlling this body. Taking advantage of Medusa's exhaustion, it had slipped into dominance.

Of course, anyone who thought Medusa was weak now would be gravely mistaken.

The Heaven Swallowing Python was a magical beast known for its characteristics—violet eyes, a faint fragrance, and strength that could shake the heavens.

That raw power—Xiao Yan had experienced it firsthand just moments ago.

Seeing that Xiao Yan had recognized her true identity, the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python snorted softly and turned her head away.

"Since you can tell us apart, then behave yourself—and keep your hands where I can see them."

Xiao Yan frowned slightly. "By all logic, this should be the first time we've met. How do you know who I am? Don't tell me… you have access to Medusa's memories?"

From his experience, dual-soul coexistence rarely shared such an ability.

The Seven-Colored Python glared at him like an angry tigress, pressing her hands against the bedframe. Her amethyst eyes flashed coldly. "You really don't remember what you did?"

Seeing the murderous look in her eyes, Xiao Yan frowned and tried hard to recall.

As he did, the python woman suddenly grabbed his black robe and hissed, "Forget it. It's better if you never remember it again."

But seeing her flustered expression, Xiao Yan suddenly recalled something.

His time spent with Medusa hadn't been long—and if he counted only the moments when the python's soul had surfaced, it was even shorter.

"So… that time on top—it was you?" Xiao Yan's expression froze as realization dawned.

No wonder something had felt off that night. Medusa's movements had been far too powerful, far too precise—not hesitant at all.

He had thought she was simply tired… but it turned out the soul in control that night had been the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python.

"You—!" The python's face turned scarlet as she plopped down on the bed, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.

She hadn't expected that the one time she'd taken over this body, she'd encounter that kind of situation.

And those positions—just thinking about them made her blush furiously.

"There will only be that one time! I am not that woman!" the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python declared firmly.

"Only once? Then why do I remember…" Xiao Yan looked at her suspiciously.

That time, he'd thought Medusa was tired, so he'd had her lie forward on the bed—to make it easier on her.

"Your memory is wrong!" the python snapped shyly, her voice trembling.

Xiao Yan sat back down on the bed, smiling faintly. "Fine, fine. Whatever you say. But you can't stay here forever, can you?"

"???" The python's violet eyes widened. "Do you think she'd even have this body without me? You should be thanking me!"

"You think I want to share a body with that woman?!" she shouted angrily, kicking at Xiao Yan again. "This is all your fault!"

Xiao Yan caught her ankle firmly before it could connect.

The instant his hand gripped her smooth skin, flashes of memory flooded into the python's mind—her violet eyes trembled, rippling like a lake stirred by wind.

That man could even control that part of her so easily…

But as the memory deepened, her gaze widened in disbelief.

That thing… it was far too large! No matter how she tried, she could barely contain it—!

"Let go of me!" she cried at last, voice filled with panic and embarrassment, as if he had touched a secret she never wanted revealed.

Xiao Yan released her with a calm expression. "Don't worry. I'll find a way to resolve this."

"Really?" The python blinked in surprise.

"I can't have you trapped in there forever, can I?" Xiao Yan said, his gaze sweeping across Medusa's familiar body with a complicated expression.

What confused him even more was—when the child was born, who would truly be the mother?

"You think I want to stay here?" The Seven-Colored Python's eyes reddened slightly. "It's already… dirty. Just thinking about it hurts."

"Don't worry," Xiao Yan said gently. "Let me think about it."

He had long anticipated the drawbacks of Medusa's dual-soul condition, though he hadn't given it much thought before. At the time, he was too focused on perfecting his own cultivation method to deal with it properly.

Now that everything else had stabilized—and the issue stood clearly before him—he was finally determined to solve it.

Especially since, as of late, he had two Heavenly Flames that had already awakened full intelligence and taken human form.

Each possessed great advantages—and equal drawbacks.

The advantage: with intelligence, their cultivation could progress at terrifying speed.

The drawback: with free will, they became harder to control, requiring vigilance and patience.

The newly acquired Windfury Dragon Flame had not yet been fully integrated into the Green Lotus Creation Codex's domain.

But once cultivated under that system, Xiao Yan was confident it would yield results similar to the Green Lotus Core Flame.

If he could imbue it with a compatible soul—something familiar—he could not only save the vast energy required to awaken its own consciousness, but also ensure much easier control.
