Seeing how things were shaping up, he didn't want Lord Larry to be stuck behind him, so he quickly stepped aside and let Larry and the cat take his place.
"There's no need for that. It's fine if we stay here," Larry said, feeling like the hunter was making a big deal over nothing.
Could he really lose his temper just by waiting in line? That seemed unreasonable to him.
Seeing that Larry wasn't going to move, the young hunter nearly broke down in tears.
Since the martial arts tournament and the defeat of the Ant King, along with other major events, Larry's reputation had only grown, and with it, the stories about him became more and more unbelievable.
Now, the rumor was that Larry alone could sink an entire continent.
It sounded crazy, but with allies like Marshadow and Genesect by his side, maybe it wasn't entirely off the mark.
In places where Larry had never even been, his name was spreading, and everything he did became a big deal that people remembered.
That's why everyone looked at him with a mix of respect, fear, or sheer curiosity.
"No, no, no! Please stay in front of me!" the young hunter pleaded, on the verge of tears.
How could he let Lord Larry fall behind him in line?
"Alright, if you insist," Larry said, surprised by the hunter's reaction, then stepped forward with Menchi and Meowth.
'Was this hunter really that fragile? Why was he so scared that he made himself look like a scared animal?'
Larry hadn't yet fully grasped the situation.
His reputation had already reached, or even surpassed, that of President Netero among the crowd.
If Netero himself was behind this hunter, he would probably give up his spot out of respect.
Larry thought the matter was settled, but just as he took a step forward, the person in front spoke to him again.
"Mr. Larry, I'm a gourmet hunter too, just like you. I never thought I'd get the chance to meet you today," he said. "I still remember when you and Miss Menchi won the championship. I'm definitely voting for you. In my eyes, you're the most qualified candidate for President. Please, go ahead, you shouldn't be standing behind me."
So, Larry and his companions moved forward again, still a bit stunned.
It seemed the two in front had set a good example, and others quickly followed, eager to show their respect.
What amazed Larry the most was that almost everyone knew about his deeds.
Some were bounty hunters who admired him for taking down members of the Phantom Troupe and the Seven Deadly Sins.
Some hunters specialize in food, and among them, Larry and Menchi stood out by winning the food competition with perfect scores, the first duo ever to achieve that.
Because of this, many food hunters admire them greatly and see them as role models.
Others focus on relic hunting, and they hold Larry in high regard because he successfully removed the death curses from both the Harimu and Moros Ruins.
Compared to hunters in other fields, relic hunters truly understand the significance of Larry's unique ability to erase those deadly thoughts, an unprecedented skill that's unlikely to be seen again.
Thanks to Larry's efforts, they were able to fully explore and clarify the historical information of these ruins, which is a huge contribution to their field.
What's more important is that most of these hunters openly said one thing: they would vote for Larry.
His premonition was starting to come true.
Keep in mind, the bounty, food, and relic sectors have huge numbers of hunters, so just these groups alone represent a massive voting bloc.
On top of that, there are many hunters who admire Larry for his strength and have also said they'll vote for him.
As Larry walked toward the front of the team, he turned to Menchi beside him and said, "Why does it feel like everyone's voting for me?"
While it wasn't literally everyone, seven or eight out of ten had already said they'd support him.
Even those who hadn't openly declared it were stepping aside to let them move forward.
At this pace, they'd reach the front soon.
"That's because everyone respects you," Menchi replied, rubbing her forehead with a helpless smile. "You might be the only one who doesn't realize just how strong, famous, and well-known you are."
"Hehe, I voted for you too," Menchi added cheerfully.
Just then, a series of sinister laughs echoed from the front.
Hisoka appeared.
Holding a trump card in front of his face, revealing only his sly eyes.
"Whether I vote or not doesn't really matter, but I figured it'd be better to vote for you," he said with a grin. "Consider it my reward for you wiping out the Phantom Troupe."
With that, Hisoka stepped aside to make room.
Larry's mouth twitched slightly, feeling a bit numb, but he kept walking forward.
By now, Larry had lost count of how many people said they would vote for him, but he knew it was at least three or four hundred.
That alone met the official requirements.
Before today, he was aware of his fame, but he never imagined his reputation had soared this high!
Since arriving in the Hunter x Hunter world, he had accomplished so many notable feats: [The World's Strongest Nen Exorcist], [The Strongest in Sky Arena], [Three Star Hunter], [Top Five Nen Users in the World], [The World's Strongest]...
These were all titles he had earned, and it seemed likely he'd soon add another: [The 13th President of the Hunter Association]!
As he walked a bit further, Larry ran into an old acquaintance.
"Hey, future president, I'm voting for you too," Biscuit said confidently, still wearing her signature burgundy princess dress and standing with her hands on her hips.
It was clear she believed in him, not just faith, but certainty.
The crowd around them was large, but you could easily hear the buzz: everyone knew plenty of people wanted to vote for Larry.
It was no longer a question of detail; if everyone followed through, Larry was guaranteed to become the new president.
So Biscuit's words weren't casual at all.
Then Biscuit, like the others, stepped aside to let Larry, along with the smiling Menchi and curious Meowth, pass through.
This wasn't just two people making way anymore; it had become an unspoken agreement.
Everyone was prepared to put the next president front and center, letting him cast the first vote.
Right in front of Biscuit stood another group of familiar faces: members from the expedition team he had met not long ago, Morel, Knov, Knuckle, and Shoot.
"Hahaha, Mr. Larry, I truly believe that under your leadership, the Hunter Association will only get stronger!" Morel said with a big grin, giving Larry a thumbs up while holding his large pipe.
The others nodded in agreement before stepping aside as well.
