The cafeteria had settled into something calmer by the time Jin and the others started actually making sense of who wanted what. Survivors sat scattered across the floor and the overturned tables, some still catching their breath, others already talking in low, excited clusters about the fight, replaying moments like they couldn't quite believe they'd lived them.
Seul found a clipboard someone had abandoned near the reception desk and started jotting names on the back of an old supply sheet, the paper worn thin at the edges.
"Alright," she said, tapping the pen against her palm. "Whoever actually wants to come with us, step up. We'll get your name, your skill if you know it, whatever you've got."
The response wasn't immediate. A few people hovered near the edges, clearly still weighing it, and Jin didn't push. He'd learned enough today to know that pushing people into decisions wasn't the same as helping them make good ones.
