"Hello~ …. Dad," Myra's hoarse, scratchy voice echoed in the now silent room.
"M~ …. MY~ … MYRA~ my child. Is it you? Wher~ …. where have you been? No~ … first tell me, how are you? Are you safe? Are you well? You are not in any danger, right?" William's restless voice erupted from the other end.
"Dad~ …. I~ …" she choked. She didn't want to tell her family because they would worry about her, but this thing, it can't be hidden for long. Clearing her throat, she spoke again, "I~ … am at a hosp~… hospital. I~ …."
"HOSPITAL? Which hospital? What happened? Myra~ …." William's tone raised a notch or two as he got up from the couch. Several voices in the background flared up as well. That's when she heard a female voice filled with concern and anxiety, "Hospital? What hospital? Why is Myra there? Mr. Miracle, why is she in a hospital?"
