Chapter 151 - Recoil

BRAVE

Like a meteor falling from space, Skylar enveloped by a glowing force-field barrier like he is on fire emerged from the dark empty sky at a speed several times the speed of sound, and he is headed towards the ground several ten thousand kilometers below him that revealed itself and is at an angle to is upside down falling figure.

Meanwhile, having caught sight of the ground, he starts to slow down rapidly while simultaneously changing his orientation midair—going from his head pointing downwards at an angle to it pointing vertically upwards. And continuing his descent with this orientation for a few moments, he neared the ground and crashed foot first into a very soft and springy pastel purple mass that cleanly absorbed the energy of his descent, thereby breaking his fall and bouncing him back into the air, catching him offguard.

Seriously...

Surprised, Skylar steadies himself midair as he returned to the surface of the pastel purple mass at a very small steady speed so as to avoid being sent back into the air by it.

"What's this place?" Landing and then standing on the pastel purple mass that seems to stretch infinitely in all directions, Skylar's with his superior sight futher enhanced by Supersense/Hypersense, and his Sixth sense at maximum capability quickly starts scanning his surrounding illuminated only by the glow of the pastel purple ground and the glow of other taller masses in the far distance around it like planets connected to the ground that he later concluded to be giant archaic flower plants after scanning them, meaning the glowing pastel purple mass he is standing on is one too.

"Its like I am back in the wild."

Skylar chuckled, then simultaneously returning his vision and Sixth sense to normal, he added to the layers of natural energy coating him in preparation for stealthed dangers that are definitely all around him as his Premonition has warned him, even before he landed.

This panty guy is really a menace. How can an illusion dungeon be this sophisticated and this crazy dangerous? Let's see?

Skylar paused briefly, focusing his sixth sense on the energy within his reach. And after sensing the earth below and a large body of water he couldn't command, he frowned, looking troubled as he withdrew his stretched scanning sixth sense.

I really shot myself in the foot. Panty thief must have studied me enough to know and be sure about my affinity for water and earth element. Thank the heavens I kept the others a secret. I am definitely not using them except... Fuck! Here they come..

Already sensing and anticipating danger coming at him from a very far distance behind, Skylar in a split second took to sprinting away from the danger, accelerating with reckless abandon.

Although his speed was nearing speeds that will normally cause the elements to scream and cry, meaning things like his bare foot on ground should be leaving burning prints due to friction and the air around him, especially those in front of him should be booming if not greatly compressed and heating up; Skylar sprinting figure that looks only blurry with an imperceptible headwind to an average eye continues to accelerate every second on a straight line on the vast purple mass that seems like an endless bare purple plain, looking like all the unresponsive elements around him are unaware of his actions, or looking like he is running in a vacuum where the elements do not really exists but are illusion.

I should be able to do it again here if I just regain that feeling... I have been practicing it for a long time now, and if I can't do it here today, I should just forget about it till I become divine. Its not like I will be running all my life. I may not even have to wait till I become divine... If I can get my stealth mastery to a high level, I should be able to even run invisible without making any sound at all...

Thinking to himself while still accelerating greatly—nearing impossible speed like when he met Mr Rabbit a second time which is also when he was captured by the colossal wolf that was chasing them and the time when he ran from the horde of blood thirsty creatures during his first death arena experience—Skylar slowly starts to let go of his inhibitions and apprehension that came from his stubbornness to understand the fundamental prunciples of his unscientific running ability; this time, partially leaving everything to his instincts even though great dangers are coming after him from behind.

And doing all this, trying to regain his ability to run freely as he called it—which is to run incredibly fast without making the elements cry, meaning leaving no trace on the surroundings, or running as quietly as possible, if not seeming almost invisible—his figure dressed in a dark gold pant and a black cloak, looking blurry with faintly visible headwind outlining it, starts to become fainter and fainter like it will truly turn invisible as his speed increased drastically because he has never stopped accelerating.

And at one point that he did almost turn invisible, his figure covering close to 20 kilometers in a single second, took off from the ground—shooting into the dark empty sky in a parabola—and as a result, he escaped a green melting substance that came from the sky like a bullet—a lethal attack from the danger from behind him that has been pursuing him while maintaining a speed that matched his.

Here they come... One from my left, one from behind...

Still following a parabola midair but returning to the ground after reaching a great height, Skylar having sensed the direction of the two closest danger to him got completely enveloped in a flaming white cloud. And as he reached like halfway towards the ground that is now like a red flatland with a very gentle downward slope, the flaming cloud expanded greatly like it exploded, and as it vanished, Skylar figure that is now a hundred meter tall and is still dressed in a dark gold pant and a black cloak but not his white mask that has fallen off, was revealed.

However in the next moment, instead of continuing his descent towards the ground below, he stamped his right barefoot on the air, and instantly with the action as a lift, he leapt like on ground, rising a lot higher midair and leaving a ripple that realesed electrical sparks behind where he stamped the air.

And reaching the apex of his jump a moment later, while also rotating a hundred and eighty degree—orienting upside down—he clenched his right hand into an unusually calm fist augmented and cladded by natural energy. And in the next millisecond, he punched the thorax of an archaic specie of a butterfly six times his current size that was many kilometers below him, looking like he teleported close to it.

However, all the force in his fist that he expected to be able to vaporize the butterfly with gray wings that has white veins was efficiently absorbed by its soft red shell that no sound was made, and before he knows it, the force was suddenly released and returned, and it launched him at a speed far greater than the one he descended with that he can't tame and far higher into the dark empty sky he descended from, unable to come to a halt.

Fuck! Is everything here super elastic? What's going on here? How can someone win?... Fuck!

Thinking to himself while still rising higher into the dark empty sky at the initial acceleration that he was launched with burning plasma outlining his spinning figure—making him look like a meteorite but one ascending—Skylar suddenly realized a great danger above him.

However, in the next moment, still unable to control the speed of his ascent, he sensed he entered into the colossal jaws of something that closed immediately, sending his surroundings into a darkness that even extinguish the plasma flame around him. And not long after, he felt a tearing pain that traveled all over his nerves as he crashed into something with thousands hard spikes that pierced anywhere on his body. And as he cried out in pain and anguish, he was cut short as everything including him returned to darkness.

Hmm, let's do this again...

***

Sitting on a chair with his back leaning on its backrest relaxedly and his eyes on the chameleon glass ceiling display above, Skylar entranced by it, jolted back to reality like he just woke up from a nightmare, feeling a lingering stabbing pain all over his body that accompanied the vivid recollection of the horrible experience of death he just had.

"What the hell?!"

He screamed out not from the pain but from the fact that everything he experienced starting from when Starboy came inside the room he is now back in—which is also the guest room he was brought into by the extremely voluptuous madam of the establishment—and ending at when he was pierced all over after being swallowed by a creature he has no idea of because he couldn't control the speed of his recoil from having punched the super elastic archaic specie of butterfly, all felt like both a real experience and a dream to him.

"Big bro, are you okay?"

Starboy who just entered the room as he expected, sounded worried as he came near him after he probably saw his strange and unusual reaction that he knows is uncharacteristic of him.

"You are not bad, but no matter what you do, you are not seeing it." Skylar spoke to the air like he is talking to someone. Then standing up from the chair he is sitting on and totally ignoring Starboy who has a confused look on his face, he walked towards the entrance of the room. Then exiting the room, he returned to the strange eerily quiet balcony of the illusion dungeon like a while ago with Starboy who is astonished by its view, close behind him.

"Big bro, you have any idea what's happening?" Starboy questioned Skylar who paused some distance in front of him that is close to the snow white marble balustrade. And getting no response from him, he nonetheless keep his focus on Skylar who is undergoing a serious rumination.

...maybe I should use wind this time. locking it is a stupid idea in the first place since my proficiency with it is the lowest, and who knows... I might get inspiration on how to effectively use it this time. Nahhh... If I do that, some freaks might caught up to the fact that I resonate with all the elements, but for how long can I hide it. Looking at it now, I have been using wind a little during sprinting and I even incorporated it with my flitting blur technique, so there is a possibility this guy already knows and he his not disallowing it like the others because he want to confirm it or he is sure my proficiency of it is very bad, either way, there is no need hiding it. I will just make it seem like I can only resonate with those three and life energy alone, if it surprise anyone, they should go and do their findings, its not like I actually care..

"Hehehe..." Skylar grinned, finding his own thought amusing as he walked closer to the balustrade. And in the next moment, he casually leapt over it and plunged to the depth below it, leaving Starboy who became stunned and shocked by his action behind.

"Unbelievable." Starboy murmured.
