The ship docked quietly at the edge of the merchant town by noon. The harbor, though not large, was bustling with life.
Wooden planks groaned under the weight of traders unloading crates and barrels. The smell of dried fish, ink, and roasted chestnuts mixed in the air, giving the place a sense of livelihood.
Fu Ling stood beside Li Xin at the bow as the sailors fastened ropes to the mooring posts. He squinted slightly as the sunlight reflected off the water, gilding his pale skin with a faint glow.
Li Xin, standing just a little too close, caught the sight of him like that. His hand unconsciously flexed at his side, the earlier hug replaying in his mind. He wanted more. He was greedy and a single hug wasn't enough to satisfy him anymore.
Fu Ling turned around and he put on a smile, trying to mask his thoughts.
