After leaving the mansion, Tang Ai and Xu Ruan went to a teahouse and ordered a private room.
They closed the door and sat down before Xu Ruan took of her veil, revealing a delicate face. But that face was now scrunched up in dissatisfaction.
"Tang Ai, what is your cousin doing back? I thought you took care of him"
Tang Ai was slightly annoyed at her tone but she answered politely.
"I don't know. I handled it very well. He should have been sold off long ago by now. Who knew his luck would be so good as to get saved"
Xu Ruan acted unreasonably.
"You still have the guts to say you handled it properly? He's hale and hearty! And he looks even better than before."
Tang Ai felt like she needed to clear some things up.
"The only reason why I wanted to help you in the first place is because we're friends. You're not entitled to the Fu family assets. I was only going to give it to you because you were my friend."
