As some time passed, Axion grew more and more bored. Mostly remembering what happened that night. He thought that maybe if he had done something slightly differently that it'd go better. His thoughts were disrupted as a raven landed on the frame of the opened window.
It stood as if it observed him, gazing at his movements, his features, his injuries… "What're you looking at?" he asked, approaching towards it and expecting the raven to fly away. To his surprise it didn't. Instead it remained there, gazing up at him. Its eyes seemed full of life yet at the same time utterly lifeless.
In the large distance, Axion saw a beam of light fire up into the sky. Seeming faint at first and expanded and let out a sound loud enough it could be here.
KSSOOM!
This wasn't anything irregular or anything that he didn't hear before. It signalized a rift being closed. There were quite a large number of them in Vgorikia and very few Shikari go here to close them. The rewards are alright, true. Only reason there are Shikari here is because of the noble houses and the rich. If there weren't any of them…
Looking down, the raven wasn't there anymore. 'Huh? No way it left, I would've seen or heard it,' he thought to himself as he checked in the hospital room, unable to see it anywhere. Truly mysterious.
He sat onto the floor and got into the position of a one handed pushup. It wasn't difficult at all to do it despite one hand. And one thing that's a little bit unique about him is that there is no difficulty difference between doing one handed pushups on his right or left arm. So he started doing them. He started to train despite it.
'It's best for me to not dwell on it but rather focus on what I have, improve my strengths and progress further than before no matter the obstacles.' he told himself. After half an hour, he was done, breathless entirely out of the whole training. He stood back up and sat at the edge of the bed for 3 minutes before his door was opened.
2 doctors, this time, as well as 3 nurses walked in with a clipboard-like object. The look on their faces had Axion a little worried. He's never been to any hospital so this didn't seem like good news.
"What is it?" he asked abruptly, fixing his posture a little. The doctors looked at him. "Well, your blood work seems to be well above the average human. Red Blood Cells are 5.9 million cells per microliter of blood. White Blood Cells 10.200. Platelets 430,240. And plasma is 55%"
An obvious mark of confusion struck across Axion's face, forming as his current expression. He scratched the back of his head and asked "What does all of that mean?"
"The blood work is not the issue, it's your blood type." he took a little pause, observing Axion's confused state "Usually humans have a few different ones and Shikari AKA awoken people have another but you… We can't seem to identify it."
"So what could that mean? Could there be an error or…?" he asked, hoping for an answer. His thoughts didn't focus much on it as something such as blood type didn't seem relevant at all." The doctor had a light nod and looked at the clipboard and back. "Well it is possible. But we'd like to test your blood once more. This time more thoroughly. Surely you can understand why, since this is the first time ever that it couldn't be locked onto a type."
"I can understand that. If that's what you need then alright." he approved it. The doctor gave him a light smile "Thank you. We'll have someone sent in briefly for it." to which Axion slightly nodded and in the next few moments the doctors and nurses left that room.
A few minutes went by and an unfamiliar doctor entered the room holding a syringe. "Hello sir." The doctor greeted warmly.
"Hello." Axion replied back.
"I'll take a sample of your blood and that'll be that." he said, guidingly, approaching Axion and checking where he'll take the blood from. Axion's eyes scoured across the room multiple times as he felt a cold sweat running down his neck.
"Understood. After this can I leave?"
The doctor was a bit focused on not to hit anything major but regardless replied with an unfocused like tone. "Unfortunately sir, you cannot. Guards are placed in front of your doors due to the never seen before type of your blood and it's possible uniqueness."
Axion knew that he must get out of here then. "Okay." he said but planned to try and escape. To remain in a hospital while who-knows-what is happening outside in his world and reality is quite nerve wracking. "If you don't mind me asking, who will have access to view my file?"
The doctor stuck the syringe just in that moment and heard Axion slightly wince as he started to pull out the blood. "That is confidential between us and you, but… The Royal Family will, some Noble houses with either connections or money and depending on the final results - all of the medical facilities across the nations and such."
'Great. I don't know what's in my own blood… Maybe it's nothing and in fact is just an error or maybe I'm special in a way. Oh how that would be nice in this world…' such thoughts brought a slight smile to his face.
"All done sir." The doctor pulled out the syringe full of his blood and carefully placed it on a previously sat carriable tray as he opened the door to leave. He wasn't lying. 2 guards were stationed outside his room. Not ordinary guards either… These ones had to have been powered. Regardless there was no leaving now. Not by door anyway.
Axion started to advise a plan.
