"Damn it! How could he know our location!?"
An enemy hidden in the shadows is the most terrifying, but once exposed, they lose all threat.
Under the barrage of bits and beams, ten identical enemy mobile suits emerged from the distorted space, retreating and dodging while pouring firepower into the wave of bits.
The next moment, two more enemy units charged at Dawn Gundam from both sides, their Beam Sabers drawn, aiming straight for its cockpit.
"Got him... What!?"
Yet, the ambush failed. Dawn Gundam calmly transformed its rifle into a saber, blocking the slashes and thrusts from both sides with ease.
"It's a trap!"
Seeing their Beam Saber ambush fail, the pilots of the Nebula Lightning Gundams remained undeterred. The Calamity Life Katanas on their backs unfolded like vicious fangs, lunging at Dawn Gundam.
But it was all in vain. From the gaps in Dawn Gundam's wings, orange Life Stream energy flashed. The two Nebula Lightning Gundam pilots barely caught a glimpse of something streaking past before their Calamity Life Katanas shattered into fragments without even touching Dawn Gundam.
"This... Ah—!!"
Seconds after their weapons were destroyed, the two Nebula Lightning Gundams were similarly torn apart by an unseen force, leaving only their cockpits somewhat intact.
While the two Nebula Lightning Gundams engaging Dawn Gundam couldn't discern what had happened, the remaining ten, pursued by the wave of bits, witnessed the entire sequence clearly.
From the gaps in Dawn Gundam's wings, dozens of thin orange threads radiated out, effortlessly slicing through the Nebula Lightning Gundams—and that was the end of it.
"What was... static... that!?"
"No... static... data... static... nothing..."
"But... how... static... did they detect... static... the Mirage Colloid... static..."
"Electromagnetic interference... damn it..."
"Mid-combat... static... God, that girl... static..."
At that moment, the comms of the remaining ten Nebula Lightning Gundams crackled with distorted voices. After destroying two units, Dawn Gundam spread its wings and surged forward with the thrust of GN Particles and its own propulsion, closing the hundreds of meters in an instant.
"No—!"
"Slash—!"
With two swift strikes to the shoulders, another Nebula Lightning Gundam was reduced to a human stick. The other enemy units tried to capitalize on this momentary pause, launching [Lance Dart] hypervelocity armor-piercing rounds from all angles.
But emerald beam threads danced once more, weaving an impenetrable net around Dawn Gundam and the wreckage. In the blink of an eye, the incoming rounds detonated harmlessly in space.
"Mission failed! Retreat! Now—!"
"Don't... maintain formation... static... orderly withdrawal!"
A calm assessment, but not particularly meaningful. The twelve Nebula Lightning Gundams belonged to Lily Savary and her eleven sisters—pure Carbon Humans from Librarian Works. Their most outstanding combat method, and their greatest strength, was their [Instant Teleportation] tactic.
Built around three core elements—twelve identical Nebula Lightning Gundams, the sisters' perfect coordination, and the [Mirage Colloid System]—this special combat strategy involved surrounding the enemy in the center while only one Gundam remained visible. The other eleven stayed hidden using the [Mirage Colloid System]. The moment the visible one disappeared, another would deactivate its cloaking, creating the illusion of an "instant teleportation" ability that seemed impossible to counter.
However, deception was still just deception. Once the truth was uncovered… well, it was still pretty hard to deal with, since no radar system capable of detecting the [Mirage Colloid System] existed yet.
But Yang Hui was different. In Innovator Mode, nothing could hide from him, allowing him to immediately dismantle their strategy.
Now that the mystery was gone, eliminating them was only a matter of time for Yang Hui.
And so it went—another Nebula Lightning Gundam at the edge of their formation was caught by the Dawn Gundam and reduced to a human stick. Meanwhile, on the other side, Yang Hui's bits broke through their suppressive fire and caught up to another Nebula Lightning. Under his precise control, the bits coiled around its limbs like living tendrils before crushing them.
Five Nebura Lightning Gundams down, seven left. Since they had come all this way, Yang Hui had no intention of letting them leave. He wasn't worried about any diversion tactics either—in Innovator Mode, he didn't need radar to detect enemy mobile suits or ships. The moment anyone entered this region, he would know.
In the blink of an eye, the Dawn Gundam streaked like a meteor into the formation of the remaining seven Nebula Lightning Gundams. Golden bits scattered from its center, immediately disrupting their formation.
Perhaps because the twelve sisters lacked real combat experience, their coordination fell apart once their formation was broken—giving Yang Hui the perfect opening.
Dodging the combined assault of the seven enemy units, the Dawn Gundam slipped between two Nebula Lightning Gundams. The moment they turned, emerald beam threads sliced through, severing arms and legs.
The golden comet zigzagged through space at impossible angles, evading every wild shot. Another flash of gold, and three more were destroyed.
"Four left… Hm?"
Just as he prepared to finish off the remaining four, the Dawn Gundam suddenly halted its advance, pulling back a considerable distance.
A split second later, a torrent of blue, white, and red energy surged past where the Dawn Gundam had just been, swallowing the torsos of two Nebula Lightning Gundams still drifting in space.
Silence fell over the battlefield. The four surviving Nebula Lightning pilots stared blankly at where their sisters had vanished, while Yang Hui turned his gaze toward the source of the attack. In his Brain Quantum Wave perception, dozens of new presences had abruptly appeared.
"A warship… has arrived!"
The Dawn Gundam dodged again as another torrent of energy characteristic of the Positron Cannon surged forth, accompanied by thick Beam Cannon fire and a barrage of missiles and Electromagnetic Cannon shells.
Faced with this overwhelming curtain of fire, the Dawn Gundam had no choice but to abandon its pursuit of the four Nebula Lightning Gundams, recalling its bits to form a defensive perimeter as it retreated. Even in its retreat, it refused to discard the dismembered torso it had reduced to a human stick.
Among the twelve Lily Savarys, one was the original—possibly not subjected to the same restrictions. With luck, she might provide more intel on Librarian Works.
"Again?"
The bits assembled into a dense wall of light before the Dawn Gundam. The Positron Cannon's energy torrent crashed against it, erupting in a brilliant flash before scattering into countless streams that dispersed in all directions.
