[Correct. Restricted Quests allow you to choose whether to apply additional constraints after selecting the mission world. Completing the quest with these constraints will yield extra rewards. Side Quests, on the other hand, are randomly triggered after entering the mission world, and completing them also grants rewards, with the reward level corresponding to the difficulty of the triggered quest.]
"Just as I thought."
The corners of everyone's lips curled upward. This was excellent news for them. While safety was guaranteed now, lower difficulty also meant fewer rewards. Being able to earn more rewards while remaining safe was naturally something they welcomed.
"Mephis, what are the restriction conditions?"
[Random. Attribute restrictions. Prohibited from bringing Mobile Suits or Warships from Prometheus Fortress...]
"Does harsher restriction conditions mean higher rewards?"
[Correct.]
"Restricted Quests aren't something to be chosen lightly," Sumeragi said seriously. The constraints could severely weaken their combat capabilities. Mobile Suits and Warships weren't much of an issue—after all, each world had its own technological path, and there would always be suitable Mobile Suits and Warships available for their use.
But if their attributes were lowered, even Yang Hui couldn't guarantee they'd handle every battle with ease, let alone the others.
"...Let's decide based on the selected mission world," Yang Hui concluded. From the looks of it, the mission worlds they'd encounter would likely be Real Type worlds. While Real Type worlds didn't reach the terrifying scale of Super Type worlds, they were still no small matter.
Take the UC world, for example. Starting from the One Year War, the story extended over 200 years into the UC timeline. If they were to face a world like Gundam V, having their attributes restricted would be extremely dangerous.
Not even looking that far ahead, the Unicorn era in UC 0096 was already perilous—after all, the Unicorn Gundam, in some aspects, already bordered on Super Type territory.
But if it was the One Year War? That would be simple. Even if their attributes were suppressed to C-rank, they wouldn't be afraid.
What? You say the One Year War was the most chaotic and dangerous period?
True, but the chaos of the One Year War was more about conflict, politics, and assassinations. Moreover, the One Year War was the era when Mobile Suits were just emerging. Yang Hui could easily deal with Zakus and GMs even if he mass-produced M1 Astrays, ensuring survival in large-scale battles.
What? Beam Sabers and Gatling Guns?
Come on, if those weapons were detected in advance, they wouldn't pose much of a threat.
"Then it's settled."
Everyone nodded in agreement with Yang Hui's proposal. Increased mission rewards were something they would never refuse. As long as safety was guaranteed, Restricted Quests were not to be passed up.
Next came the enjoyable tour. Creuset and the other newcomers from the Gundam SEED world, along with Zechs, Zhang Wufei, and Noin—the three newcomers from Gundam Wing—needed to familiarize themselves with their new home first.
"How's it going?"
Arriving at the simulation training room, Yang Hui saw everyone enthusiastically engaged in mock battles. On one hand, they were getting to know their future comrades-in-arms, and on the other, they were competing. After all, they were all aces from their respective worlds—naturally, they had to assert their pride upon first meeting.
"Damn bastard!"
Before Graham could answer, Yang Hui heard a familiar voice. Turning toward the sound, he saw Yzak leaping out of the simulation pod in a fit of rage, though his face was pale—likely still shaken by the realistic simulation's death outcome.
On the other side, Asemu stepped out of his pod with a smug expression, looking completely at ease. His match against Yzak hadn't left him the slightest bit fatigued.
"Exactly as you see," Graham shrugged. The newcomers all wore grim expressions, while the veterans remained relaxed.
Yang Hui wasn't surprised by the result. After all, veterans like Asemu had already been aces in their original worlds, and after years—even decades—of experience across missions, their growth was inevitable.
Moreover, the veterans' Mobile Suits were custom-designed by Yang Hui's research team to maximize their combat potential, combining the technological advancements of both Gundam 00 and Gundam AGE worlds. These machines were far beyond what any single world's technology could achieve.
Even pilots who hadn't yet embarked on missions had their own specialized units, and thanks to the realistic simulations, their skills had rapidly improved. They were all aces—none lacked potential.
"Dammit! If it weren't for this piece of junk Mobile Suit holding me back—" Yzak continued to grumble angrily.
"Oh, come on, Yzak. Even with the same machine, you wouldn't stand a chance," Dearka patted his shoulder consolingly. It was a bitter truth, but the other side's skill simply outclassed theirs.
He also didn't want Yzak's temper to sour relations between the groups—after all, they were supposed to be future comrades-in-arms.
"What did you say?!"
"How about another round? I'll use my old Mobile Suit data from before Prometheus Fortress," Asemu suggested with a smirk.
Normally, the mature Asemu wouldn't resort to such blunt taunts, but as someone who had led teams before, he recognized that Yzak and the others' pride needed tempering. A reality check was necessary—to show them that there were always greater heights.
So when the tension thickened and conflict seemed imminent, Yang Hui and the others didn't intervene. They believed Asemu was handling it correctly.
"Are you looking down on me?"
"A little, yeah. Honestly, I don't get why you think you can beat us," Asemu shrugged, feigning helplessness. "I know you're all elite aces—handpicked by Uncle Yang Hui to be the first arrivals at the fortress."
"You—!" The words "elite aces" stung Yzak's ears. If not for Dearka and Athrun restraining him, he would have lunged at Asemu. Even Athrun, usually so composed, now wore a dark expression.
"But tell me—does that mean we aren't?"
At that, Yzak and the other newcomers froze.
"We are also the top aces of our world," Asemu said seriously, pointing to Woolf, Gerard, Rena, Dole Frost, and others behind him. "Except for a very few like Uncle Yang Hui, Uncle Graham, and my father, everyone here has decades of combat experience in their original worlds. Do you?"
"..."
"Moreover, some of us have even gone on missions that lasted over a decade, while those who didn't go never stopped improving themselves in the fortress. How can you newcomers assume we're just second-rate pilots relying on Mobile Suit advantages?"
"..."
Yzak and the others fell completely silent, their expressions turning somber.
Asemu and his group shook their heads and turned to continue their training in the simulation pods. Those who had experienced mission worlds knew the dangers firsthand, while those who hadn't were pushing themselves to catch up with their teammates. For them, it was a case of sailing against the current—if they didn't advance, they would fall behind. Whether it was for a chance to go on missions or to survive and return from them, there was no room for complacency.
"Hey," Yzak suddenly called out to Asemu.
"What?" Asemu stopped and turned around.
"What's your name?"
"Asemu. Asemu Asuno."
"I'm Yzak Joule. I'll definitely defeat you one day."
Asemu paused, then grinned with interest. "I'll be waiting."
The earlier disappointment, disdain, and dismissiveness vanished, replaced only by the blazing fire of battle. Both sides locked eyes, the drums of war already beating fiercely.
"The effect was pretty good," Yang Hui chuckled, satisfied with the outcome.
"Seems like we won't be bored from now on. They're all decent people," Flit remarked, and Jehart nodded in agreement. Not only were the newcomers from the Gundam SEED world unfamiliar with Prometheus Fortress, but the veterans were also unfamiliar with them. Mutual familiarity and understanding were necessary.
And the earlier defeat and suppression had undoubtedly shortened that process.
"Are you doubting my judgment?" Yang Hui side-eyed Flit.
"No, not at all..." There was no denying it—older brothers would always be older brothers. Even if they weren't blood-related, the hierarchy remained.
"But Asemu has really grown."
Asemu's approach just now was both necessary and perfectly measured. Any less wouldn't have achieved the effect, and any more might have fostered real hostility between the two sides.
"Of course. I've been disciplining him for over a decade..."
"You, disciplining your older brother?"
"Let's stay good brothers if we don't bring that up!"
"Hahaha..."
"What I'm more curious about is why he calls you 'uncle.' Are you really that old?" Creuset voiced his confusion, successfully redirecting the focus onto Yang Hui.
"Hm?"
Not just Creuset, but Durandal, Kira, Athrun, Yzak, and others were also curious. Yzak and his group subtly leaned in, ears perked for the answer.
"Heh, do you know how long Graham and I stayed in the Gundam AGE world?" Yang Hui sighed, his expression a mix of resignation and frustration at the memory. It had nearly broken his spirit.
"How long?"
"Nearly 100 years," Graham said with a bitter smile.
"What?" came multiple surprised responses.
"The Gundam AGE world is truly unique among anomalies. Its entire historical progression revolves around three generations of the Asuno Family, so..."
Though he didn't finish his sentence, everyone's gaze instinctively turned to Flit, then shifted toward where Asemu stood. After searching around, they noticed no one resembling the father-son pair remained present.
"Stop looking. Kio didn't come to Prometheus Fortress," Flit stated, recognizing they were searching for the third generation.
"Huh?" multiple voices responded.
"Oh? Now that's interesting," Creuset remarked with a smirk, finding the situation amusing but choosing not to pry further. Since the youngest Asuno wasn't at the fortress, this clearly concerned private family matters - and pressing further would be impolite.
