Chapter 17 - The Older Brother

Life As the Vampire God Chapter 17 - The Older Brother

The year is October 31st 666 AD 11:00AM. Leyna, who is now my wife, and I are in our spacious bedroom in our palace in the Capital City of Easlum. It has been approximately 83 years since Attila basically tricked me into going down to the cloning factories where Leyna and I met. Well, I fell head over heels in love with Leyna at first sight and we got married. I know; I know! (aww) No! Stop! Don't do that!

During the ensuing years, I have, also, gained an estimate of 8.5 trillion fully trained soldiers. Thus bring the ranks up to around 18.8 trillion soldiers. I added the few billion from 83 years ago to the few billion now, which gave me the extra 0.1 to my army. I know it's a lot but considering the fact that Lucifer has been collecting people in Hell for a lot longer than me, I knew I had to at least give myself a reasonable chance. But after pondering this, I felt that something was wrong. Leyna looked over at me. I could read the worry in her eyes. She broke her silence.

"What is it? What's wrong?" Leyna asked me, her voice was soft, but I could hear the worry in her voice. She had this amazing ability to sense whenever I felt that something was off.

I replied, "Someone is here. Follow me."

I got off the bed, headed toward the door. Leyna followed silently. I walked out the door, down the hallway, and onto the balcony that stretched over the wall and into the training fields. The balcony was really long but with my speed it's nothing. Beneath my balcony was the elevator that goes down to the cloning factories. The training fields are filled with soldiers. The first tier who would be the initial group to defend Easlum. I looked out beyond the city and that's when I saw him! Sermoff! Leyna grabbed my right arm.

"Please tell me, what it is," she asked politely but I also sensed her urgency.

"It's Sermoff out in the distance," I replied. "Just standing there. I hope he just arrived and hasn't been standing there for a while. That would be weird."

She looked out. "Where?"

Leyna was a goddess, but she wasn't as strong as her husband Draven. Her senses were not at the level of his. The only thing that she had a grasp of better was measuring people's emotions through the use of her powers.

I put my pointer and middle finger on her temple. I am able to give people some of my powers through touch like being able to see great distances, hearing, and others.

"Oh, thank you. Now I can see him. Looks like he is alone." She hesitated, then added, "that's good, right?"

"I highly doubt the old boy arrived solo." I went on to explain the situation. "When I accidentally gave him his powers and from that point onward, he has always had an accomplice." I turned around.

"Cain," I thought, sending the telepathic message to him, "bring the body," I ordered. A moment later Cain and Attila appeared carrying a body. (I guess Attila was next to him when I sent the message.) The body looked exactly the same as John's body which was Lucifer's last vessel when we confronted Attila. I looked at my beautiful wife and said, "Lenya, it's time for you to meet my father."

She turned her face towards me, "Lucifer?" she asked softly.

"Yes," I said.

She smiled. I just loved when she smiled. I looked beyond her and homed in on the solitary figure. Something was off. Unfortunately, Sermoff was still standing off in the distance … waiting. Still creepy.

Leyna broke the quick silence, "I'm ready."

I spoke while sending a telepathic message to dad, "Lucifer, we're ready!"

A moment passed, then, the Hell portal opened. Red smoke came out, but it was a brighter red than usual.

"That red smoke is Lucifer!" I told Leyna.

"Your dad is red smoke?" She asked stifling a smile.

"At the moment yes, but My grandfather, God, put restrictions on Lucifer to keep him in Hell. Unfortunately for God, he forgot about the usage of vessels. Now unfortunately for Lucifer, he is weaker when he is out of Hell."

"I'm not sure I know what to say." Leyna commented with a straight face which I don't see often. "Oh, my," her eyes widened. "Is he for real."

The red smoke did a loop then went into the mouth of John's cloned body. Lucifer got up and his eyes were glowing brighter red than usual, don't think I will let this go unnoticed. Then his eyes changed back to the vessel's eye color, a vivid blue.

"Hi Lucifer!" Leyna said with excitement.

Lucifer looked at my wife, his daughter-in-law. Now that really sounds weird. "So, you must be Leyna! I'm sorry that I haven't met you earlier. I've been, busy."

Thankfully she didn't look over at me when she replied, "Well, that's okay. You rule Hell, right?"

I had to give my dad credit. He was charming and polite to my wife. "Yes, I do," he replied.

"Speaking of that," I jumped in, I've been waiting to ask this for more than 80 years. "Why has there been 350 million people entering Easlum each year? This is more than the amount of people alive on Earth per year?"

"I'm getting ready for a war against Heaven." He was so calm when he said that.

I paused. "That's all well and good, but that still doesn't explain how there are so many people entering Easlum."

"I was able to capture 5 Archangels." He replied as if this act was a completely normal thing to do. He continued. "I then extracted most of their essence to power myself up."

Well, that explains why his eyes are a much brighter red, but I had to ask. "Essence?"

Lucifer nodded then replied. "It's what gives angels their powers. If you take an angel's essence by slicing open their neck, it will recharge in a short period of time unless you take all of their essence. If you basically absorb the essence like eating it, then you get a power boost, but the effects wear off. If you were previously an angel, then you will temporarily get powers unless it's your own essence in which case you will just get your powers back."

That was a lot of information given at once, but I understood it, so I asked another question. "What exactly did you do after you captured the Archangels?"

"Well," Lucifer smiled, "my army wasn't growing as fast as I wanted it to, therefore, by using most of the Arch-angels essence, it gave me enough power to create 10,000 earth dimensions within the main Earth."

"You had that much power! You actually created 10,000 Earths! Well," I said to myself and within hearing distance of dad, Cain, Attila and Lenya, "that explains why there are so many people entering Easlum."

"Don't get to surprised," Lucifer replied. "It doesn't actually take much to create an earth. It just takes awhile to do that."

"Did you only do it once?" I asked curiously.

"Yes, I tried to do it again, but it didn't work. Maybe I unwittingly hit max essence power? Or this universe can only hold 10,000 extra earths. His temporary bright blue eyes looked concerned.

"Maybe," I mumbled.

"But the first 1,000 Earths were after I had to imprison Nevar."

"Nevar?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you?" He didn't wait for my reply he continued. "Well, Nevar is your older brother."

"Older brother!" Attila, Cain, Leyna, and myself all murmured at the same time.

"Sorry Draven, but you weren't my first creation."

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked bluntly. Frankly, I was a bit peeved!

"I thought it best not to," Lucifer replied.

"Well," I countered angrily, "I think I should have known!"

"Fine," he said without even a fight, "A little while after I was imprisoned, I wanted more control of Earth. So, I created Nevar. He has the ability to do a magical trade."

"Magical trade?" I asked, "Like a magical deal?"

"It wasn't a magical deal, but it had similar characteristics. Like as long as you were within 6-feet of him, you could make any wish, and he could choose to grant it. If he granted your wish, he could take one thing from the wisher that was considered theirs."

"That's powerful!" I said in slight awe.

"Indeed," he agreed, "He also has the ability do it up to five times for each single person. In addition, he possesses the ability to take souls and previous wishes from a person. The person would have to at least make a second wish for Nevar to be able to take their previous wish."

"Wow," I said. "Did he have anything else?"

"Well," Lucifer paused for a moment to think. "I intergraded a computer into his consciousness during his birth. That's how he knew about his powers."

"Why don't I have one." I asked which seems like valid thing to ask.

"I decided to just give you the knowledge in person," Lucifer replied. "In Never's case I hadn't discovered vessels or at least a good enough vessel to travel onto Earth to give him that knowledge.

I nodded to Lucifer in understanding.

Leyna asked the question this time. "Then what happened?" She appeared more curious than I was.

Lucifer nodded. He appeared pleased by her interest. He told her. "Well, he quickly started turning people into gods while taking their souls in the process. He was building a powerful army comprised out of every Egyptian God known to man. He had complete control over every last one of them and gaining powers in the process. So, I imprisoned him."

"So, why did you imprison him?" I asked.

Lucifer looked around like he was remembering. "When he finally faced me," he replied, "He had planned to attack me. Instead of waiting for him too, I sent the first strike. The fight was close, but I won, imprisoning him in Hell along with his Egyptian Gods."

"Well," Cain who was clearly bored interjected into the exchange. "That's a lot of information but let's not forget that Sermoff is still standing out there and I personally think it's weird."

"Oh, right you are," Lucifer said as though he had clearly forgot about Sermoff. "Beat you there!" He took off flying towards Sermoff followed by Cain and Attila.

"Well, here I go," I announced with measured excitement, yet a slight hesitation. Instantly I knew why.

Before I could take off after them Leyna yelled. "Wait!"

I turned slightly in order to face her. "What is it?"

"Umm," she nervously murmured breathlessly.

"You can just tell me." I urged softly.

She looked down and placed her hand on her belly then looked back up at me. It took me a moment, but I then realized. "You're not telling me that your—."

"I'm pregnant, I think."

This was something that I didn't see coming. Sure, we did the deed a lot, but I feel like she should've got pregnant at least seventy years ago. Then again, I can separate my seed from the rest so that Leyna can't get pregnant when I do it. It's very hard though.

"You 'think'," I empathized the word 'think,' "that you're pregnant?"

"Well, I am the goddess of love so I can just," she paused her eyes which then glowed pink, and she looked down placing her hand on her stomach, "feel him."

"You can just feel Him?" I asked with shock. "If you are then, I mean, you don't look pregnant."

"Any girl in her early stages of pregnancy doesn't look pregnant." She lectured me with a patient smile.

"Um…that's true. So why are you telling me now? Why not wait until later?"

"I'm telling you this because if you fail, you'll let down your son, your heir to the kingdom, or since you can't die and let him inherit it, then you'll be letting down your Prince and your Queen. Or everything goes wrong and everything her dies." She said this with wide eyes."

"Oh great," I said sarcastically.

"Love you Draven," she said, "you better come back, or I'll kill you myself, if I can."

I laughed, "Love you too Leyna." I took off after my boys.
