Anya felt her whole world spin in an instant. One second she was sitting beside Draco, holding her breath, forcing herself to stay still while his presence pressed down on her like a weight she couldn't shake off. The next second everything changed. A hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of that space so fast her body barely kept up with what was happening.
She stumbled forward, her heels scraping hard against the floor as she was dragged across a hallway, the music from the club fading behind them, replaced by something quieter, more dangerous. Her heart slammed against her chest as she tried to steady herself, her free hand reaching out instinctively like she needed something to hold onto.
Then she looked up.
It was him.
Liam.
For a moment her mind froze, then her chest tightened as something unexpected rose inside her. Relief. Real relief. Her eyes almost teared up right there as she stared at him, her breath uneven.
He came back.
He didn't leave her.
