The Ashmaw twisted around and unleashed a roar. Several tentacles rose from its back, their hooked ends pointing toward Liam.
Eldric slammed his palm against the creature's armored hide.
"Kill him!"
The beast attacked.
Tentacles descended from above, swept across the ground, and thrust toward Liam's chest in rapid succession. He activated Combat Prediction, reading the shifts in their movement before they struck. His improved agility allowed him to slip through the openings with astonishing precision, and his sword flashed through the air, severing two tentacles before they could close around him.
The Ashmaw recoiled.
Liam landed on a boulder, pushed off, and drove himself toward its head. He brought the sword down against one of the thick bone plates protecting its skull.
CLANG!
The impact rang across the cliffs.
The plate cracked.
