"No-ah."
Julie barely managed to get the word out before a sudden wave of nausea rolled through her stomach.
She quickly turned and rushed to the side, pressing a hand against her abdomen as saliva gathered beneath her tongue.
She swallowed hard, but the sickly sensation only climbed higher into her throat.
She pulled out her handkerchief with trembling fingers and quickly dabbed at the corner of her mouth, breathing slowly through her nose as she waited for the unpleasant wave to pass.
Samantha watched her closely, concern tightening her features.
"You are not alright," she said.
Julie straightened gradually, forcing herself to steady her breathing before turning back to her. She gave a small nod, her fingers still curled around the handkerchief.
"Hmm, but it's okay. It's nothing big," she said, attempting to brush it off.
But Samantha wasn't buying it.
