If you could ask for anything in your second life, what would you ask for? Anansi asked for responsibility. Faced with the reboot that would end everything, Anansi didn't fear his "end," but his future. He feared repeating the same mistakes in this new beginning, again placing all the responsibility of the world on a 15-year-old boy. Anansi didn't want to be just another spectator, watching his totems suffer in infinite universes. He decided that this time it was time for an adult to take responsibility and not put everything on the shoulders of a child; he would be useful in this new chance. Or at least he would try, since his first change was to give powers to 5-year-old Peter Parker.
