A 3D holographic projection filled with nothing but data floated in front of Jayden, he looked at Kelex-Prime's code with dissatisfaction.
'I hope Barry doesn't kill me for this, oh what heck I was gonna do it anyway'
He waved his fingers and the data compressed into a small sphere, this contained the core programming of Kelex prime and the alterations he made.
"The original laws of robotics inside the programming were a hindrance, the minor alterations helped a lot"
He then turned his head around and looked at the complex neural network, the glowing blue nodes and connections representing neurons or synapses in an artificial neural network.
' Fascinating, this is better than what I expected... project Ascension may work better than I planned'
The complex neutral network in front of him was Gideon or rather it was what made Gideon what she is.
Kelex-Prime fell short in many ways and it faced limitations when it came to computing power, assimilating and synthesizing both their codes would grant Kelex-Prime personality and self awareness originating its 'moral' foundation.
"My sweet child, you will run everything I create so you need to be logic driven while being my advisor and partner.
I feel emotions and this makes me hesitate and fail to adapt to some situations... it's a flaw that makes me human
So I won't code or allow you to develop emotions because you rely on calculation, this will make you stay logical and not emotional...this is my gift to you"
At super speed, Jayden broke the two codes and began to assemble them into a new program while installing extra algorithms however he paused as a thought came into mind.
' Am I making a mistake? It has no empathy, no compassion, no inherent understanding of right and wrong.
Its "moral foundation" is whatever parameters I give it, It can't disobey it's core programming but I should create multiple fail-safes just to be sure'
He began to mentally calculate the possibilities of each fail-safe and began to implement them.
Within a few minutes, he completed the assimilation and synthesizing process as he began to update and upgrade Kelex-Prime.
"I've outdone myself, the chances of success are very high but I hope they're 100%"
The door of the lab opened and Cyborg entered, slowly approaching Jayden.
"I've been looking for you, you left the central command room and never came back?"
He paused his steps as he noticed the floating holographic orb in front of Jayden.
"Artificial Sentient Intelligence... two codes broken down and assimilated into one being without contradiction, this is amazing"
Cyborg began to scan the orb and felt nothing but awe, in the world of ones and zeros he was the absolute master and what he saw made him see Jayden in a new light.
"Lucas thought you were just a kid filled with nothing but arrogance and a Messiah complex... I guess he was wrong.
It's not arrogance but pride since you have the skills to back it up"
Jayden didn't say anything; rather, he simply looked at Cyborg with a deadpan expression, an expression that said I am busy, what do you want?.
"Okay?, the tower is almost fully functional, I just came to t..."
Cyborg stopped talking as he noticed the sudden shift of Jayden's expression.
"What are y..."
"Shush!!!"
Jayden began to sniff the air as he stood up from his seat, he smelled a faintly intoxicating, almost nauseating, sticky smell.
"I smell something raw and primal.... it's fear"
The duo immediately knew what that meant, the moving planet was getting close.
"Wait, how can you smell fear? Forget that, how far are they?"
Jayden sniffed again as he tried to estimate the distance.
"They're very far but the smell is getting heavier and denser, I can hear the atoms in space shift but I can't hear more...my powers have dropped to 60% "
Cyborg sighed as he slowly sat on the table, things were coming together and falling apart at the same time, he didn't know anymore.
"It was solar tower wasn't it? I told you to leave it to me but you refused...why are you so stubborn?"
The Watchtower had endured unimaginable stress, but most of the metal alloys used in its construction could withstand extreme heat even temperatures at the surface of the Sun.
Jayden, however, had pushed his heat vision far beyond that, reaching levels approaching the core of the Sun to melt and repair damaged sections of the tower.
At the same time, he had used his frost breath to cool the molten metal, carefully preventing it from collapsing or fracturing under the extreme thermal stress.
By combining his powers at such a high intensity, he had accelerated their depletion, even though a shield now protected the Watchtower from the red sun.
The process had drained him rapidly, a testament to the effort required to stabilize the tower under those conditions.
"I had to do it, no else had the necessary skills to do so, besides we're one of the few people in this ship who understand Thermonuclear astrophysics.
You can't handle that amount of heat without putting yourself in danger"
The duo stopped talking as the orb began to take shape and form.
The holographic interface simply looked humanoid without outstanding features, it was plain.
[Greetings Creator, Do you need my assistance]
"Yes, can you please connect with the tower and analyse it"
[Connection established, Analyzing Watchtower systems....Data has been acquired]
A torrent of data began to flow through KP, structural integrity reports, power flow from the K-Reactor, life support statistics, and the dormant biosigns of the sleeping crew.
It took less than a second.
[Analysis complete, Structural stability is at 89.7%.
Power assimilation from the K-Reactor is operating at 97.3% efficiency.
Life support is stable for 72 standard hours at current consumption rates.]
"What about Ranx, what are your... thoughts"
[Sensory analysis of the entity's emitted radiation matches known psychic frequencies of sentient fear.
The entity is not merely generating this emotion; it is consuming it. It feeds on hope and excretes terror.]
Jayden began to rub his temples as he heard the news.
'Fuck my life'
"What about Earth, was there an invasion when we left or not?
Is there a new development... Nevermind I forgot where we are, communication would take years"
[Creator, have you considered harvesting the Superluminal particles generated by your speed Aura
They can't help the entire ship, but we can harvest enough for communication]
Jayden slapped his face alarming Cyborg, the slap was so hard it generated a shockwave on impact.
"How can I forget about tachyons? Tachyons are particles with imaginary mass!."
"Ohh!, they can never slow down to sub-light speeds; doing so would take infinite energy." Cyborg added as he analysed the situation.
"Exactly!, that's why they can naturally move faster than light.
If we can harness them, communication could be effectively instantaneous, no matter the distance.
How could I have forgotten something so important?"
Jayden simply paused as he thought deeper, he didn't know how to build a Tachyon prototype.
[At ease Creator, a Tachyon prototype schematics exist within in the Watchtower's database.
There are more things like the tritium‑powered energy generator, dark matter engine e.t.c
I'll simply download them into my database and create a proper Tachyon prototype for you]
"Thanks, I am tired so I am going to take a rest, Vic... can you assist where help is needed?"
Seeing the nod given by Cyborg, he left the lab and with a single step he appeared in front of Raven's room.
He began to knock on the door and as it opened, Raven who wore a nightgown over a sports bra and lingerie, her hair tied into a ponytail was revealed.
She stood there, calm and poised, radiating an effortless allure that made it impossible to look away.
"Damn"
The words escaped his mouth as he looked deeply into her eyes, he began to do a breathing exercise as he felt the tingling sensation in his pants.
"Ugh, I was just checking up on you and..."
Raven simply put her finger on his lips, cutting him off.
"Stop overthinking things and come inside"
He quickly took a step back as he noticed the shift in the atmosphere, the cunning glint in her eyes didn't escape his gaze.
"Come in, I don't bite... Why would I lie to you?"
He simply paused his footsteps because what she said made sense, taking a leap of faith he took her hand and entered the room.
