Chapter 408 - Chapter 408: The Duel of Wind and Wind

Clang!

The samurai blade struck the stone floor, giving a crisp sound.

The sound transmitted into Qin Siyang's ears like an alarm bell.

Yamamoto Taro was about to change his move.

Qin Siyang stared at Yamamoto Taro not far away.

His nerves stretched to the limit.

At this moment, Yamamoto Taro should still be able to teleport within the arena.

But his own [Banquet Domain] still had more than a minute before cooldown ended.

This was precisely when he was most clumsy.

Whish!

A gusting wind sounded around.

Dust on the ground rose with the wind, blurring vision.

The stone tiles on the ground even began to crack and fall apart, turning into fine sand and rubble that swept through the arena.

Qin Siyang's gaze remained fixed on Yamamoto Taro's body, not knowing what trick he intended to use.

Just then, the short-statured Yamamoto Taro seemed to be weathered by the wind.

His whole body, along with his armor, was blown apart and mixed into the swirling yellow sand filling the sky.

Immediately, Qin Siyang smelled a faint metallic tang of blood.

He frowned, not understanding where the blood smell came from.

The yellow sand before his eyes grew thicker and denser; the wind in the arena grew wilder, stronger.

Buzz!

The once quiet arena suddenly underwent drastic change; a huge sand tornado silently rose from the center of the field.

The lower end of the sand tornado pressed against the arena floor, causing the ground beneath Qin Siyang's feet to tremble.

It was like a giant hand, crazily grabbing sand and debris.

All the dust on the ground was swept inside, forming an ever-expanding vortex.

The roar of wind echoed through the arena.

The whole arena instantly became hazy, heaven and earth seeming to merge.

"Will attacks hide in the sand?", Qin Siyang had nowhere to escape on the arena.

Because the sand tornado gradually expanded, it soon covered the entire arena.

As far as the eye could see, it was all a swath of ochre.

Qin Siyang naturally refused to sit and wait for death.

He wanted to try to retreat outside the arena, to find another angle to break this skill.

But when he ran to the edge wall of the arena, he found he couldn't escape at all.

Whenever he attempted to leave, his body felt as if bound, utterly powerless.

And when the thought of fleeing vanished, the bindings on his body would also disappear.

Qin Siyang clenched his fists.

He knew he could only face the enemy head-on at his most vulnerable moment.

He watched warily the yellow sand wrapping him, thinking about Yamamoto Taro's attack method.

Would Yamamoto Taro hide in the yellow sand, preparing to deliver a fatal blow?

Sand and stones whipped by the gale looked terrifying, but to the body of Sequence Level Five Qin Siyang, they could not harm him in the slightest.

So Yamamoto Taro must have another step in his attack.

Sure enough, not long after the sand tornado filled the arena, the scene before him changed.

All the yellow sand, as if stained with blood, suddenly turned into a field of crimson.

The metallic smell of blood in the air intensified.

It was as if every grain of sand carried a trace of blood, filling the air and suffocating.

Qin Siyang's pupils slightly contracted.

'Yamamoto is about to strike.'

'Banquet Domain cooldown still has forty seconds.'

With the sky full of dust, even if [Banquet Domain] cooled down, it couldn't be activated in time.

But without [Banquet Domain], the strongest mobility skill, Qin Siyang felt his life was in danger.

He could live without it, but he could not fight without it.

Suddenly, a piercing whoosh sounded in his ears, like a blade cutting through paper.

Qin Siyang instinctively sidestepped, and in his peripheral vision saw a thin, nearly invisible sand blade roaring out from the red sand.

He had barely evaded it when several more sand blades attacked.

He had no way to escape and had to swing the Fangtian Halberd up to block.

But that sand blade carried a strange force; the moment it made contact, it exploded, turning into countless tiny crimson dust particles that pierced into his flesh.

Qin Siyang gritted his teeth, feeling an icy chill spread along his arm, making it slightly numb.

"Poisoned!"

Sand blades kept coming.

But Qin Siyang's movements of swinging the Fangtian Halberd grew increasingly sluggish because of the toxin.

"Damn it!", Qin Siyang clenched his teeth, trying his best to stay calm. He knew Yamamoto Taro must be lurking within the dust, ready to launch a lethal attack at any moment; he absolutely could not let him succeed.

Just then, the ground suddenly split open; dozens of crimson sand pillars shot up fiercely from beneath the earth, and even fiercer gusts formed within the sand tornado.

Like sharp spears, they stabbed toward Qin Siyang's limbs.

He leapt up suddenly, avoiding several sand pillars' attacks; the Fangtian Halberd in his hand also blocked a few more.

But Qin Siyang's body no longer kept up with his consciousness, like a clumsy puppeteer controlling a heavy marionette.

Looking at his own arms, they were flushed red as if burned by fire.

A sneer came from within the gale.

"It seems your teleport skill ultimately cannot copy all of my abilities; you can't activate it an infinite number of times."

"Another monster is going to die by my hands."

Qin Siyang held the Fangtian Halberd tight.

He knew he wouldn't hold on.

Soon he would completely lose control of his body.

He had to counterattack.

But all along, he had not found Yamamoto Taro's position.

Yamamoto Taro's aura had completely vanished.

Qin Siyang gritted his teeth.

If he couldn't find Yamamoto Taro's precise location, then he could only use an area attack.

Whether it worked or not, at least it could buy time.

Qin Siyang first took a pill that Director Chen Fenghe had given him for treating injuries.

In an instant, he felt his body a little lighter.

Of course, Director Chen's medicine was a panacea.

Taking advantage of the partial recovery of his movements, Qin Siyang swallowed another piece of godly remnant in his mouth.

He pushed off the ground and leapt into the high air.

[Devouring], activate!

As Qin Siyang rapidly swung his arms, a fierce hurricane formed, contending with the sand-filled tornado.

For a moment neither could overpower the other.

However, this hurricane carried extreme cold.

At the slight collision, it froze all the sand and stones flying in the air.

Those crimson flying sands were soon coated with frost.

Between the two raging winds, the frozen sand and stones became brittle like dead leaves.

Immediately they all cracked "boom boom boom", shattering into bits of ice crystal, disappearing.

After more than ten seconds, the ultra-low-temperature hurricane Qin Siyang raised dissipated, and the sand tornado was greatly weakened.

The whole arena instantly cleared.

A terrified voice came from within the sand tornado.

"How is this possible? You clearly copied my gale skill, yet you can add ice attribute?"

Qin Siyang still had not detected Yamamoto Taro's aura.

But he had locked onto the direction the voice came from.

He immediately drew the string with one hand, gathering his full strength to hurl the Fangtian Halberd.

"Take my halberd!!"
