The announcement came through the academy's broadcast system on a Tuesday morning, while Leo was eating breakfast and trying not to think about Peter Payne.
*All students are reminded that a guest lecture will be held in the main assembly hall at ten hundred hours. Attendance is compulsory for all first and second year students. Dress code is full academy uniform.*
Compulsory. Leo had learned that word carried a different weight at this academy than it did anywhere else. It meant there was no version of today where you did not show up and sit in a room with whoever was coming.
He found out who was coming about twenty minutes later when Rosa dropped her tray across from him at breakfast and said, without preamble, "Sunslayer is back."
Leo put his fork down slowly. "For what."
