KAI'S POV.
"You're going to be a father." Damien said, huffing out a laugh.
"I can't believe it." Kai replied, a smile playing on his face.
Their shoulders bumped as they sat together on the hill, a lake illuminated by the moon like they used to when they were five, then teenagers who went on camping trips to hunt wolves so they could prove to the pack they deserved to be Alpha and Beta.
Damien's eyes were fixed on the night sky. Kai asked quietly, "What do you think our parents would think if they could see us?"
The Beta's expression shifted slightly, still not looking at Kai. Maybe he had made a mistake by asking that question. They had never spoken about the event that happened all those years ago. Kai couldn't think about it without wanting to claw out his heart.
"I don't know." He shrugged. "What do you think you're going to name him?"
