Piers started climbing the mountain using Mephisto's powers, using the Dendrogram for directions. Suddenly, he saw a Navarion in front of him. The fox-like creature stared, its expression turning annoyed, and it barked as if asking why Piers had left it.
"What are you saying?" Piers asked. Tenko's eyes focused on Piers's heart, but Piers couldn't understand. Piers wrote in the Dendrogram: What does he want?
The Dendrogram responded: You used to be a person called Rei Alenshade, a person with a great amount of knowledge and wealth, loved by everyone, and a destiny to change the fate of everyone from a dark future set by the gods itself. You were not the chosen one but the one who destroyed the path chosen by gods itself. During your journey, you saved this Navarion and named him Tenko. At first, it was just a mutual benefit of teaching him, but you and Navarion soon became friends and traveled together and made the revolutionaries. But then, after a fight with one of the strongest people, you were heavily wounded and turned to Piers, and since then, Tenko is gathering allies to bring Rei back and put down your consciousness.
Piers processed the information. "I see. So, you want me to free Rei's consciousness?"
Tenko nodded.
"Sorry, but that can't happen, at least not until I achieve my job," Piers said. He turned to walk away, but a growl stopped him.
"You are so desperate that you are willing to fight me?" Piers noted. Tenko's eyes showed clear determination, and his confident posture was confirmed by a bark.
Piers cautioned, "If we fight now, it will just end up with our forces gathering here. You should fight me when I am standing on my last leg and am all alone." Tenko hesitated. Piers turned and left, saying, "I hope the day you succeed will soon come because you don't look as someone bad."
Piers used Mephisto's power to sprint and muttered "so I used to be Rei....." a single tear dropped from his eyes knowing he was not even real. Soon he reached near the location and jumped to the location mentioned in the Dendrogram, entering a cave sideways when a blade of white energy struck at him. Piers used his Black Arts and sent a black spirit at the white blade, destroying it. "Looks like there are some Guardian Holders here," Piers observed.
As the light shone, countless Guardian Holders were revealed. One spoke up. "We have been told by Master Zen to follow you, but why should we? What is so special in you that we need to follow you?"
"And may I ask who you are?" Piers asked.
"I am Kade, the in-charge of this group. This is Vera, Xander, and he is Titus."
"I see. My name is Piers, and as for why you need to follow me..." Suddenly, a storm of dark winds rotated around Piers's body, and black spirits covered him, forming a dark black cloak that induced fear. Piers looked at them with an authoritative, frightening dark expression. "...because I am the strongest here."
"Looks like you don't know your position," Titus sneered. Titus burst with an invisible Godly Energy and lunged at Piers.
"Amateurs," Piers muttered. He used his spirits to move, a newly discovered power, dodging the attack with ease.
"Just who do you think you are?" Titus challenged, while the students behind him started attacking with energy blasts, blades, and even created beasts, all infused with God Strength. Titus dashed in with his God Strength-infused fist.
"Just this much?" Piers took out his Phantom Insignia and charged. Titus's fist tried to make contact, but Piers easily dodged and, with a slash, made a cut on Titus's chest—enough to put him down, but not kill him. The God Strength attacks rained on Piers, but he took out his Holy Sword and absorbed the energy.
"So you do have some power, but that is not going to save you against me," Vera said. Suddenly, her body shone, and she appeared in a mystical armor. "So, how much time can you last?"
"Better to stop yapping and start fighting," Piers countered.
Vera, enraged, charged at Piers at blinding speed but passed right through him. She stopped. "What, an illusion?"
Piers placed his hand on Vera's head, and she instantly became unconscious, falling to the ground. "So this was your power? Not much of a challenge," Piers dismissed.
"Looks like it's finally my time," Kade said. Kade used his White Arts to create a prison barrier around Piers.
"Do you think this will be enough to stop me?" Piers asked.
"No, but this will," Kade replied. Four balls of light exploded inside the barrier, injuring Piers. Piers used Chorus Vitae, restoring himself to full health. "That is not enough to kill me." Peirs used Sol Invictus to destroy the barrier.
Piers then used Mephisto's power, moving at high speed, creating afterimages to confuse Kade. "Time to show you my true power!" Piers blasted Sol Invictus, a powerful solar attack, and Noctis Pinion, which created deadly bat beasts, assaulting Kade. Kade started dodging the attacks but with Piers continuously blasting, Kade was finally struck on the shoulder, wincing and falling to the ground.
"Fine, fine, I give up," Kade conceded.
Piers looked at Xander, who immediately said, "Don't look at me! I am the one who is made for rituals, not for fighting!"
Piers addressed them all. "This is the moment. Either you decide to join me or get out of my way. I won't force you."
Kade spoke first. "Zen was our master. We have seen how rotten both the devil holders and gaurdian holders branches have become, and we need to stop it."
Xander added, "Lives have meaning, but both the branches have no regard for it."
Titus followed, "I will join because I myself have witnessed the cruelties of our branch."
Vera declared, "I will follow you because Master Zen has said that you are the chosen one who will bring order to the fight clash between light and dark."
"I am no chosen one," Piers corrected. "But you are correct about this world needing a revolution to protect the people who are unjustly suffering from the ruthlessness of the higher people. We need to uproot the evil and restore balance. Not just me, but us together as one."
Piers raised his sword. "For a better world!"
Everyone followed his lead and cheered, "For a better world!"
