Noah swore that the thing he hated most in his life was exactly the thing he couldn't live without.
It was like finding a fly in his favorite food.
Or being told, mid-bite, that the dish in front of him was made from something that made him sick.
The feeling made him want to curse and smash his phone.
But he couldn't.
Hermione smiled at him and gestured for him to hurry up and check it.
Noah glanced at the screen and sighed.
He really did have to deal with this call. Even if he didn't answer, he'd still have to go.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked. "Is it something important?"
She tilted her head, clearly already guessing the answer.
"Yes," Noah nodded. Then he looked at her and suddenly asked, "How long is your vacation?"
"Why?" Hermione raised an eyebrow. "Are you planning to take me somewhere interesting?"
"Sort of," Noah smiled. "Interested in playing in space?"
"Space?"
Hermione froze for a moment.
The word wasn't unfamiliar. Both the Muggle world and the wizarding world had their own interpretations of the universe.
One explained it with science and physics.
The other viewed it through magic.
Hermione was far more familiar with the magical perspective. She'd lived in that world for decades. Still, the universe itself fascinated her.
She knew it was filled with strange magical elements and bizarre creatures.
Like the little cat in Noah's Sanctum.
She knew it wasn't ordinary. According to Noah, it might not even be from this universe-possibly not even from the Milky Way.
And its danger level?
Terrifying.
If it wanted to, it could swallow the entire Milky Way.
"Space, huh..." Hermione thought for a moment. "I should at least leave a message for Harry and Kate. Otherwise, disappearing like this might cause trouble."
"No need," Noah said easily. "I'll handle it. They'll understand."
He sent a message to the Sorcerers' Alliance group chat, didn't wait for a reply, then opened a spatial portal.
After casually notifying Wong, Noah turned off his phone and took Hermione through.
Asgard appeared before them.
Still beautiful. Still serene. Everything felt harmonious.
Hermione couldn't help but look around.
But Noah didn't linger.
He took her hand and headed straight for Odin's palace.
The guards didn't stop them.
They clearly recognized Noah.
That kind of unimpeded access left Hermione quietly stunned. It was the first time she truly realized that Noah's influence wasn't limited to Earth.
It extended into other civilizations.
"Welcome, Noah."
Thor was waiting at the entrance. He stepped forward immediately.
"Hey, Thor," Noah said flatly. "Honestly, I really didn't want to come."
He rolled his eyes.
"I was about to do something very important when some idiot's phone rang. That feeling is awful, you know?"
Thor's expression turned strange.
Hermione's eyes widened slightly.
After a long pause, Thor showed an expression only men could understand. There was obvious sadness in it.
He patted Noah on the shoulder.
Then turned and left.
"Was what I said that bad?" Noah asked, glancing at Hermione.
"Yes," Hermione said carefully. "It sounded a bit... cruel."
"He just got dumped," Noah chuckled. "So why can't I get back at him for interrupting me?"
"You really are..." Hermione sighed, then firmly hooked her arm through his as they walked inside.
Odin's palace was as vast and luxurious as ever.
And just as empty.
Only a few people were present.
Loki, who had returned.
Thor, already waiting.
And Nebula, kneeling on the floor.
Loki had come back because his magic was stuck at the final step-a step Noah couldn't help with.
Noah had even checked with the system.
The system didn't care.
It wasn't Noah's problem.
So Noah didn't interfere.
Loki had gathered enough information, completed the separation into two bodies-one Asgardian, one Frost Giant-and returned to finish the last step himself.
Noah glanced at him and could tell immediately.
It was done.
Loki was now a true Asgardian.
An Asgardian with Frost Giant blood and Frost Giant power.
"Greetings, King Odin," Noah said smoothly, leading Hermione forward and bowing. Then he turned to Loki. "And congratulations. You finally finished it."
"Hmph," Loki snorted. "If Father hadn't helped, do you think I'd have done it so quickly?"
He glared at Noah, but not too fiercely.
Noah had left a deep impression on him.
Mostly involving fists and magic.
An unforgettable kind of memory.
Even now, Loki still had the reflex to shut up before Noah finished speaking.
"Of course," Noah replied calmly. "Your Majesty's power is beyond comparison."
That was simply a fact.
With Loki's issue resolved, Noah felt a bit relieved.
The druids were living comfortably now. Under Noah's protection, anyone who wanted to trouble them had to seriously reconsider.
And it wasn't just Noah.
The British Ministry of Magic. Kamar-Taj. Even independent sorcerers who'd benefited from their knowledge.
All of them were watching.
That group-once insignificant-had become important beyond their own imagination.
Noah shook his head and looked at Odin.
Since Odin had summoned him, he clearly had a reason.
As expected, Odin smiled and spoke.
"Noah, thank you for everything you've done for Loki."
"That was his own effort," Noah replied. Then he gestured to Hermione. "This is my girlfriend. Hermione Granger. Current Minister of Magic of the United Kingdom."
"Welcome, Ms. Granger," Odin said warmly, his attitude far gentler than when he'd first met Jane Foster. "I hope you enjoy your stay."
"Thank you, King Odin," Hermione said, steadying herself.
"Noah," Odin continued, pointing toward Nebula, "do you remember this woman?"
"She is Thanos's daughter."
"I assume you know that."
Of course Noah knew.
What he didn't understand was why Odin was bringing it up now.
Noah glanced at Thor.
Thor winked at him.
And Noah understood immediately.
Asgard wanted to dump the hot potato.
Nebula had already said everything she could. Keeping her served no purpose.
She wasn't strong enough.
Her identity was too sensitive.
On the other hand, Noah might actually need someone like her.
Asgard didn't want to deal with her anymore.
Nebula could never truly settle in Asgard.
Asgard was conservative.
They didn't welcome outsiders.
Even vassal races lived on their own worlds.
And with Nebula's identity?
There was no chance.
So there were only two options.
Let her go.
Or kill her.
If Noah hadn't come, Asgard would've released her eventually and washed their hands of it.
If she showed up again, Thor would probably split her in half with Stormbreaker.
But she was also a technical talent.
And Asgard knew Noah wasn't just a magician-he had interests elsewhere.
So they called him.
To see if he wanted to take over this "scrap."
If yes, problem solved.
If not, they'd let her go on the spot.
