Chapter 490 - Chapter 490: Truly Terrifying

The favors Noah owed were neither many nor few.

But Odin handing out benefits so directly still gave Noah a strange feeling.

Of course, Noah knew why.

It was for Odin's sons.

Among the younger generation, Noah had already taken the lead. Even Thor more or less listened to him. As for Loki-despite his occasional tsundere tendencies-if Noah was genuinely displeased, Loki would sense it immediately and shut up faster than anyone else.

That kind of deterrence wasn't something everyone possessed.

And Noah's help to Odin's sons was substantial.

Loki had received magic from Noah. Even though Noah didn't guide him much afterward, it gave Loki a clear direction. Loki was now a true Asgardian, awakening his intrinsic power-something extremely rare.

As for Thor, it went without saying.

Noah was the one who helped Thor understand himself.

Noah gave him a path forward.

And Noah was the one who enabled him to wield the Power Stone.

Without Noah, Thor might still have reached great heights one day, but the cost in time and effort would've been unimaginable.

So Odin helping Noah was only natural.

Not to mention that Ego was, frankly, insane.

Eliminating him, cleaning up some lingering problems, and gaining some benefits in the process was simply logical.

That was why Odin gave Noah this information.

After a brief exchange, Noah roughly confirmed Ego's level.

Tier 8, peak.

Similar to himself.

The difference lay in understanding and experience-but that wasn't an advantage against Noah.

Ego couldn't exert Tier 10 power right now.

And Noah wasn't lacking in combat experience either. None of the opponents he faced in the system space had been weak. They were originally absurdly powerful beings, forcibly suppressed to match his level.

So Noah wasn't afraid.

Not at all.

Coupled with his thorough understanding of Ego, Noah felt his chances of winning were high.

In the cinematic universe, Ego claimed to be a Celestial. He possessed enormous energy, shaping it into the planetary body beneath their feet. He also formed a humanoid avatar using that same energy.

When Peter learned the truth about his mother, he'd shot Ego with an elemental gun-and it was clear then that Ego's body was pure energy.

Ego planted avatars-seeds-across countless planets. Once activated, those planets would become him.

All the energy for that came from Ego himself, supplemented by Peter.

Formidable, yes.

But ultimately, it was just a massive quantity of energy.

In real combat terms, he was only on par with Noah.

Energy had mass.

And Ego had failed to elevate its quality.

Put bluntly, he was old.

So old that he was almost immobile.

"Wait-stop! Is there some kind of misunderstanding?"

Peter couldn't understand what was happening.

Two people exchanged greetings-and now they were about to fight?

Why?

Had his brain malfunctioned?

He refused to accept that possibility.

"Misunderstanding?" Noah hovered in the air, golden light faintly surrounding him, black runes spiraling around his body. "There's no misunderstanding, Peter."

At that moment, Noah looked like a god.

"If you knew what your father has done-and what he's about to do-you'd probably want to kill him even more than I do."

He sneered at Ego, whose expression had turned dark enough to drip.

Then Noah crooked his finger.

The ground trembled.

Moments later, a chamber surfaced, roots of colossal trees forming its walls. Inside lay skeletons of every race and shape imaginable.

Tragic.

Terrifying.

"These are all your siblings," Noah said calmly, spreading his hands. "Unfortunately, they're all dead."

Peter felt his blood turn cold.

Despite the heat, his limbs went numb.

Siblings?

Half-siblings?

He looked at Noah's serious expression.

No joke.

Then he turned to Ego.

The affectionate fatherly warmth was gone.

Only a cold, oppressive gaze remained.

Yet when Ego met Peter's eyes, there was still a trace of warmth.

That warmth, juxtaposed with the sea of bones, was horrifying.

Peter didn't know who to believe.

Noah had tricked him before.

But Noah had also saved Xandar.

Ego was his biological father.

His real father.

Even though Peter felt nothing for him.

"What exactly do you know?" Peter finally asked, instinctively looking toward Noah instead of Ego.

For some reason, he trusted Noah's answer more.

But Noah didn't explain.

Not yet.

"I'll explain later," Noah said. "And instead of listening to me, wouldn't it be easier to just look at his memories?"

As the words fell, golden power surged.

Four colossal dragons-each bearing a different elemental attribute-roared into the sky and slammed toward Ego.

Ego reacted instantly.

Blue energy erupted, colliding with the dragons.

Noah knew Ego's weakness was his core.

But he didn't intend to end this quickly.

A rare opponent like this wasn't something Noah wanted to waste.

In a sense, he enjoyed it.

"System. Open the domain."

"Yes."

Against an opponent like this, relying solely on elemental magic would work-but it would be inefficient.

Domain magic was better.

The system had already fused subtle traces of space and time into it.

This was the perfect chance to test it.

Noah's limbs began to move in a strange rhythm.

As the resonance spread, it felt as if the world itself bowed.

Everything seemed under his control.

Peter and Gamora didn't understand why-but to them, Noah felt more like a true Celestial than Ego.

Noah didn't care what they thought.

The moment the domain fully opened, he activated the Star of Time and Space.

Space-time resonated violently.

Noah's form blurred.

A meteor streaked past him, barely missing.

"That was insidious," Noah remarked calmly.

Ego's face darkened further.

Fear crept in.

Noah, in his current state, was terrifying.

Still, Ego wasn't panicked.

They were on the same tier-at his weakest.

But he couldn't understand it.

Why did this man feel like an entire universe?

Like a planet?

Noah didn't pause.

Golden streaks danced through the air. Every gesture carried razor-sharp force.

Ego responded in kind.

Blue energy surged like a tide. Massive rocks animated by power hurtled toward Noah.

Their clash exceeded imagination.

The ground convulsed.

Space warped.

"Damn it..." Peter muttered, staring at the sky. "Are these even humans?"

"Probably not," Gamora replied quietly. "If only..."

She didn't finish.

But her meaning was clear.

Noah's performance shattered her expectations.

Ronan had been nothing.

Now, facing Ego, Noah still wasn't losing ground.

Gamora couldn't help but think-

Could this man kill Thanos?

If so, she'd have to seriously reconsider how to draw this mage's attention.

But not now.

This place was hell.

The overflowing energy alone could reduce her to ash.

"This is truly terrifying."
