The following day since Danny was saved by Faris, he woke up in an unfamiliar space. Sitting up too fast as a shooting pain immediately shot up around their body, clutching his body with a groan realising he was bandaged up and not in his ghost form anymore.
"What the?" He thought looking at his hand and back to the room around them. It was nothing like his home, almost medieval like with how everything looked. Tugging the blanket off slowly slipping their feet off the bed dangling before getting up feeling its cold flooring hit his bare feet.
Walking around the room, he saw some pictures of beings he had never saw before. Not knowing it was Faris and his beloved going to the window seeing that they were far from the castle. Yet still within the kingdoms walls, only along the poorest of civilians who barely get by fighting for good and money just to pay their next overdo debts.
"I'm sure the ghost child will know as they're from the mortal realm. We have to stop the coronation or we're all doomed" Faris' voice was heard from outside of the room, catching Danny's attention as he walked to the wooden door placing an ear against it.
"We'll be killed if the king finds out. And I'd hate to be on his bad side or I'll become a killing for their own sick enjoyment" another voice piped in scared of this so called king, but Danny had no idea of this world's story or what has been happening long before he even existed.
"Quit being a bitch. Innocent lives are at stake and I hate to let anyone down, but I'd do it all over again if it means freeing her from this hellhole!" Faris was enraged by how cowardly his crew had become, the flare to save people died down over time the longer this king stayed on the throne.
"It's just so nerve wracking to wait for the perfect timing to strike, especially when there's a kid involved now" the coward of one of Faris' crew spoke again still questioning their leader's methods, gesturing the door where Danny is secretly listening through.
"Have you ever heard of a human possessing ghost like abilities? No, we haven't. He could potentially help us save his friends and take down the royal family, freeing the kingdom from their evil clutches" Feris growled making his intentions clear to take down the evil, a ally Danny wanted for an upper hand in this weird place.
"I could do with their help. I don't even know how to survive in a place like this" Danny thought before the door unlocked, being loose from a flimsy doorknob. Causing him to fall face first with a thud as everyone immediately turned to look at him. The room filled in stunned silence, as Danny groaned pushing himself up onto their knees. "Oh man.. that hurt" he whined rubbing the side of their head before glancing up, seeing the voices he was listening to in full view.
"Looks like the hero has finally awakened" Faris spoke in serious tone, facing his boys fully at the lad. His big, muscular structure clearly intimidated them, but didn't step closer staying where he stood waiting to see if the lad was ready for introductions.
"W-who.. are you guys?" Danny asked looking at every individual being that is currently in view. Silently staring at him like they hadn't seen a conscious talking human before.
"I'm Faris Knightwall. This is my crew, and we're secretly working together against the royal family, and we believe they have one of your friends is held captive" Faris don't hold back as trust needs to be made for the plan to properly work, but Danny remained a bit skeptical not aware that Dan had been taken in the realm too. He looked between them mainly glued on Faris, understanding their skepticism. "I saw Douglas carry a big, bulky one to the castle, and from then on we hadn't seen or heard anything since" he added turning to other members of the crew who slowly nodded backing their leader up. Danny slowly stepped forward seeing some unsure glances from the others on letting him help prevent something potentially inevitable.
'I'm Danny Fenton. Where am I? And what is this place?" Danny responded giving a slight introduction to potential allies feeling more trust towards Faris with how determined he was to stop the royal family, and with his own share of it he knew trusting this crew was the only option they had to save his family.
"This is The Shattered Reality, and the kingdom is one of may in this realm that thrive here, but our new ruler isn't what any of us wanted and has dishonoured us by making it a living hell. War and violence to those who oppose him or his wife, even killing innocent lives for his own gain for power and control" Faris explained seeing the shock change to disgust and anger on Danny's face hearing how evil is trying to spread around this real, but leaving like this won't keep his own home safe from its wrath so the true evil has to be dealt with first before anyone can think about going back to the mortal realm. "The Kingdom is called Shattered Veil due to its past of when it was once ruled by pure breed dragon like hybrids before the last two who ruled over were killed by the current king" he added letting out a stressed sigh when remembering how great this place used to be, free and beautiful. Now it's filled with shattered hope, death and fear of what the king will do to those who dares oppose them.
"That's disgraceful! How can a king do that to their own subjects? Let alone extinct a dying species nonetheless. My brother and his girlfriend is in that castle, she's pregnant too. I can't let them get hurt!" Danny stood tall full of determination to protect their family, as his determination reminded Faris of their younger self before he became a knight, for the old king, the current king and soon for the new king. It lit a fire within them to ensure peace and order amongst his people, finally build a family in a safer environment. A dream he waited years to make reality and now they might have the opportunity to make life easier for everyone.
"Pregnant? This can't be good, we have to find a way to free them before the coronation, but during it seems more easier as they'll be more focus on the arena so the dungeons will be left unattended" Faris caught on knowing Danny was referring to Devina being the one expecting as it made sense on the sudden weight gain on when he saw her after brought back to the dungeon he helped her escape from in the first place.
A month passed, as fireworks exploded around the kingdom in celebration of a new heir taking the throne. Almost everyone were gathered within the arena where the events will take place on seeing the new king fight and kill to display their power. With all attention away from the arena's dungeon, this gave Faris to give his team the signal to start the plan including Danny that is hidden within the crowd in a hooded cloak to prevent being spotted.
"Plan is a go" Faris thought seeing certain faces split unsuspiciously from the crowd, other to distract certain guard or take them out where Dan and Devina were being kept as Solar is stood on a nearby podium being crowned by the king, bowing as it touched his fiery hair finally making the prince's dream a reality standing up straight when cheers erupted as he stood near the edge ready to start with the show.
"Now my faithful subjects! Who is ready for the most thrilling moment of their lives? As I your new king will display my power to keep this kingdom alive as long as I'm on the throne for my father carrying on his honour" Solar announced to all cheered at his speech, not aware of the plan that is being carried out as he speaks. But he learned from his father's last mistakes and ensure Dan and Devina were held in a secret part of the arena's dungeon out of any knight's grasp and knowledge of such a place, ever since one of their own helped a prisoner escape and he knew exactly who it was. "Now why don't we show you a beast worth being slayed by a king!" He yelled opening his arms out as a contraption made to hold one by their neck and arms making it impossible to break free, bringing tension and excitement as it was locked in place by magic to keep it from slipping from attempts of escape. "Now bring it out?!" Solar demanded pointing a hand down at the arena's many corridors where challengers would walk out to fight.
Chains ad shackles jingled as guards walked out holding thick line of chains before yanking out Dan who was in his ghost form, but unable to break out due to the collar around his neck, growling as he glared around him attempting to yank back, it was useless when more came to drag him to where Solar would kill him.
Danny saw this causing him to panic glancing over to look at Faris who is just as surprised to see that Dan hadn't been freed, but how? Were their plans leaked by a potential traitor? Solar glanced over his shoulder to look at Faris who remained stood beside the king's throne seeing the evil grin on his face. Then it hit him, Solar knew and countered his plan, but where are the others.
"You don't think I didn't catch on your sudden disappearance after you 'helped' to keep Devina chained up, did you?" Solar chuckled gesturing a hand for guards to come as Faris turned seeing his own crew chained up too, captured and dragged onto the arena floor, but Danny isn't down there luckily.
"..." Faris demeanour changed hesitant to speak, but kept a cold look as Solar got closer to him surrounded by guards who were aware of his power within the kingdom, as only Douglas could rival it. Dan was locked in kept in place for a last kill for Solar who immediately retreated back and flew down to start the main event even with onlookers clueless on what was happening.
"Sword" Solar demanded as he was handed a sharp, clean steel sword and started swinging it around to warm up for what was to come. Danny on the other hand had vanished within the dungeon phasing through the walls until coming across a hidden door, behind an oddly large picture of a face he didn't recognise. A gorgeous queen, but it was most certainly Dione.
"Secret door? Must be where they're being kept, and I need to hurry. Dan hasn't got a lot of time left if I continue to stall" Danny thought pushing the door open, with a set of stair doing deeper down and rushed down without wasting anymore time. Coming to a smaller part of the dungeon where only one cell remained old and rusted over, he got closer up he saw a familiar silhouette seeing that it was Devina. "I found you!" He yelled rushing to the bars expecting them to look up at him, but she is silent glaring blankly at the floor appearing a bit different than he remembered. She had a tail, curled back dragon horns, razor sharp claws and was a bit bigger than their usual size, and yet the belly remained round carrying precious cargo within it.
Chains kept her bound to the back brick wall, straw as their own use for comfort and bedding. Clothes from she wore before coming here worn and torn revealing fresh healing wounds as Danny felt himself faulted when taking in the hell she had once fled from, just to come back to relive everything. This would most definitely make anyone remember living like a beast in their own home. He wasted no second phasing through the bars and walked to the chains not aware of the state of mind she's under or the danger he has just put himself in.
"Come on, Dan hasn't got much time before that prick kills him" Danny muttered to himself trying to blast or yank at the chains, but nothing was done like they had been improved from a past experience. That was when a deep growl made him shudder glancing around seeing he was alone with her not realising it was from Devina. Suddenly she got up letting out a deafening loud roar, yanking at the chains with everything she had slowly transforming as Danny fell back on his ass, eyes wide witnessing this first hand looking increasingly painful seeing the rage behind her now glowing blue eyes baring their fangs going completely feral thrashing around getting bigger, dragon wings painfully emerging from her back as it continued causing Danny to immediately phase out of the cell when she attempted to attack with their clawed hands.
The chains couldn't seem to keep up with the strength of a raging pregnant beast. Snapping as she continued to rage within the cell bashing into everything during such a painful transformation as her hair changed becoming flowing as it changed to colours of blue, purple and gold a stunning sight like looking at something cosmic. Her skin was white like snow, scales matching the hair reaching to cover some parts of their body as the rest was soft human like tissue like her face, belly, upper chest and upper arm whilst everything was scales hind dragon legs and clawed fingers. Blue eyes dilated completely wild and out of control as she stared directly at Danny who was stood there petrified like he didn't recognise them.
"D..Devina.."Danny whispered as she clutched the bars easily breaking them off and stepped out with a low frustrated growl knocking him out of the way, sensing no threat within the lad and squeezed through the staircase that went up to the main dungeon, and being taller in this form she had to squeeze through cracking bricks along the way up, some even crumbling down making it increasingly unstable for anyone to stay down there. Forcing Danny to follow at a safe distance behind as she booted the wooden door off with a energy blast and sniffed the air, immediately catching on a scent as cheers met their ears huffing and stomped towards the arena ready to kill. Tail flailing hitting the wall it stunned Danny as even bars dinted under its force of gravity hating to be at the meeting end of that thing.
"Now to kill the beast?!" Solar exclaimed sword bloodied as bodies of Faris' crew lay on the ground in a pool of their blood and decapitated bodies, Dan was left watching what would happen if he let this posh prick kill him so easily. Solar got in place pulling the sword up and went down only to stop when guards screaming running out from the arena's tunnels stopping the blade inches from Dan's neck, buying him some time as he sighed with relief. "What is going on? Why are you running?" He demanded as they glanced at him, then back at the tunnel where a clicking growl echoed through, sending a shiver down their spine as everything went silent even animals too.
"We don't know what it is! It just appeared in the dungeon, sir" one of the knights were panicking when a clawed hand came out grabbing the edge of the tunnel, it made Solar freeze as only on kind had those kind of features, but they all had been killed off centuries ago.
"We need to evacuate the arena!" Another one yelled scared to fight as it emerged, no one knew it was Devina as she stepped out finally unfolding their large dragon wings, bystanders where left in awe at their beauty, but they didn't know the destruction this show will cause.
"Everyone get back!" Solar called out as it started to stalk towards him, mainly Dan who remained helpless as his eyes widened at its approach. It was a while since he felt fear seeing such rage in one's eyes made him wonder what cause it to come here.
Some people began to panic and flee by how startled Solar and knights had become, but Faris remained calm knowing something like this would happen someday. Just not today.
"Stay back you beast?! Don't make me kill you or better yet him too!" Solar pointed the sword at her as she growled darkly, getting closer taking the threat more seriously before moving it to them when noticing it glancing at him. "Move and I'll kill him" he sneered as Danny came out from the tunnel a little out of breath, Solar's eyes widened not expecting them to be here, but how?
"Devina! Don't do anything you'll regret, this isn't like you at all" Danny called out Solar froze never having any knowledge what she was until now, as he stepped back shaking sword in hand in front of everyone. When it got closer and roared, pouncing on Solar without a hint of hesitation growling close in his face, as the crowd began to panic as guards came over pointing weapons at her.
"Easy.. girl" Solar tried to calm her which fails drastically as her clawed hand aggressively pressed against his chest. Growling louder in his face. Tail hitting the ground as their wings knocked the guards away.
She had enough and threw him across the arena hitting the wall and turned to go after him, her tail hitting the thing that held Dan. Freeing him as he groaned sitting on the ground still held by chains, but wasn't as sore with his back bent forward all the time.
"Ngh.. my back" Dan groaned using his hands to push on the back of his back feeling and hearing the satisfying crack, freeing them from that aching pain. "Oh yeah, that's the stuff" he said looking back at Devina watching casually as she went on a rampage around the arena and kingdom chasing Solar. She couldn't fly being the first time in this form, so they used the building as leverage to grab and slam him back down.
Danny rushed to Dan's aid and undo the chains with energy blasts, knowing these chains are weaker than what was on Devina. Distant roars echoed throughout the realm of the beats that had been drawn out by rage and years of endless violence. The collar remained around Dan's neck restricting his powers as Faris jumped down, and helped take it off ripping the collar from its hinges as power returned to the ghost's body again. Will this be enough?
