Dante stopped reading once he realized just how vast the skill system was. "This really is an endless list…" He sighed, rubbing his temples. Some people might enjoy diving deep into all the details, but Dante wasn't one of them.
He exhaled and looked at Ten. "How many skills can I pick? Are there restrictions or drawbacks if I choose too many?"
Ten, still seated on his throne, smirked. "You can pick up to 10 skills. In theory, you can select any number from any tier. However, choosing too many Mythical skills comes with drawbacks..." Ten paused, as if debating how much to reveal. After a moment, he continued. "This is your first step into a new life, and you must learn to make the right choices. If I give you too much information, I'd be granting you an unfair advantage. That said, I will tell you this—choosing only Mythical-tier skills is possible, but only if they complement each other in a way that negates their drawbacks."
Dante nodded slowly, absorbing the information. Clearly, Ten was withholding details, forcing him to think strategically. If he wasn't careful, he could pick powerful skills that didn't work well together, making him vulnerable. "So, there's a slot system, huh? Skills take up slots, meaning I can't just pick ten high-tier abilities."
He exhaled sharply. ". There are too many skills to go through manually, and some of the descriptions are difficult to understand. If I tell you the kind of skill I want, can you help me find it?"
Ten chuckled. "Press 'Search' and type what you're looking for."
Dante nodded and searched for the first skill he knew was a must-have: Spatial Manipulation.
Skill Found:
Spatial Body (Requires 2 Slots)
Tier: Mythical Abilities:
Spatial Adaptation (Passive): Resists spatial manipulation attacks (e.g., teleportation traps, spatial distortions, pocket dimensions). Can shift body density and positioning within space to mimic teleportation by "walking in spatial realms". Dimensional Step (Active, Minimal Cooldown): Instantly reposition with a single step. Spatial Reinforcement (Active Passive Enhancement): Naturally reinforced with spatial energy, making the body slightly impervious to physical attacks and extremely difficult to restrain—unless the restraint has space-countering abilities. Space Compression (Limited Active Use): Temporarily compress space around attacks, making them strike faster and harder. Can compress space around the body to block ranged attacks.
Weaknesses:
Not Fully Intangible: While he can partially shift out of space, he is not immune to high-level energy, Mythical attacks. Limited Spatial Compression: Overuse puts strain on the body. Movement Restriction: Unlike teleportation, Dimensional Step requires an actual step or motion, meaning if he is completely restrained by an ability of higher level or tailored to counter space manipulation, he cannot move. Countered by Absolute Space Lock: Certain high-tier abilities can disrupt or restrict his spatial movement.
Dante grinned. While this wouldn't make him indestructible, it brought him close. The abilities seemed grounded—powerful but not broken. That meant true godlike skills probably didn't exist, or Ten was intentionally hiding them.
His eyes flicked to the 2-slot requirement. 'I see… so I have 10 slots in total, not just 10 skills.'
Dante clicked his tongue. 'That sneaky deity. If I had picked a 10-slot skill without realizing, I'd have wasted all my choices. No wonder Ten didn't explain. Sigh… Life doesn't hand out freebies."
He shook his head, refocusing. "Alright, time to search for the next skill. Hopefully, it won't be as expensive."
