Unbeknownst to Vexion, the silent declaration wasn't silent to those who were an almost extension of reality itself. While not literal, the beings, who heard the words she uttered at that moment touched upon levels of power that connected all things in this world into being.
Her promise was a ripple that spread far into the future, seeking out a reality where she and Dante were entangled in her promise. It was, something beyond the limits of the mortal tier—words that rippled into the future, laying out a foundation for something the world had never seen before.
A group of monstrosities was born on this day, monstrosities led by a behemoth of a vile creature who sat on top of a chandelier with his hands in his pocket his feet dangling and swinging without care.
The ripples reached the far edges of the world. They reached those who had ascended sainthood, had transcended the levels of Sages, and earned the title of "True Sages." Though they didn't really feel anything, they were still too close to the mortal tier
They reached beings who were called "Legendary Beings," having touched the fabric of existence itself, whatever that meant.
The ripples reached beings whose existence was an enigma, beings who seemed to be close to the status of gods—they were "Mythical Beings." While none of those mentioned were beyond the limits of the world, it was only because the world was formed by things the mind could simply not comprehend. They were by no means weak.
And finally, the words reached those who were not even thought to exist—entities who had the ability to see the astronomically large world and its laws. They were called "Sovereigns," and they sat in different parts of the world, parts yet to have been discovered by others. Yet even these beings were only strong enough to sense something in the ripples of time—even they could not fully understand what had occurred.
To the Legendary Beings, they felt a chill run down their backs. To some of the Mythical Beings, they felt nothing but simply turned their heads as if sensing something. They then chuckled—all without fail—and muttered four words, "What a vile man."
Yet, the Sovereigns, some only shook their heads. Some shrugged. Some frowned. Yet one of these Sovereigns sat beside a nine-year-old girl who seemed annoyed yet happy to be the arms of the man who babied her, hugging her as if she were the dearest thing in the world.
When he sensed the ripple, he paused at this level they could "see" more then others, hence he let out a loud laugh, yet... this laugh was filled with pride, filled with utter joy, filled with inexpressible satisfaction.
His laughter reached the other Sovereigns. The young thirty-year-old elf gave a mocking grin as he stared out into the world, as if looking directly at a certain direction in the air. The responses varied—a snort of annoyance, a gentle female chuckle, another voice's laughter in return, a wry smile, a frown that soon softened into a smirk.
Yet as these interactions were occurring, the True Sages, the Legendary Beings, and the Mythical Beings were left in stunned silence.
A True Sage in the northwestern continent sat in slight fear within the deepest part of his sect.
He muttered, "Why did those old monsters suddenly interact? How many years had those monsters kept quiet? What has happened? Or what is going to happen? Those ancient monsters... 'sigh'... it's been about what? Sixteen thousand years? To those old froggies, that must have just been a nap. So what has caused them to stir? No matter, let me get back to my sleep. I need a nap. I'll ask that child of mine later about what has happened and tell him to keep an eye out."
Another True Sage, a woman in a floating temple surrounded by cascading waterfalls of light, frowned deeply as she peered through the endless layers of reality. Her hands trembled slightly as she whispered, "This is bad... truly bad. For those beings to acknowledge something, no, someone... The world will not remain the same."
A third True Sage, an elder with a long white beard who had spent millennia meditating beneath a mountain, opened his tired eyes. "It has begun," he said simply, before closing them again, though now, he knew sleep would not come so easily.
Among the Legendary Beings, a warlord clad in crimson armor gripping a bloodstained greatsword roared in excitement. "Finally! Something worth paying attention to! Perhaps my blade will taste true fear once again!"
A second Legendary Being, a scholar whose eyes held galaxies within them, merely adjusted his glasses and smirked. "A new factor in the grand equation of fate... How utterly fascinating."
A third, a beast-like figure with fur as dark as the void, growled lowly. "Change is coming. And with change... blood."
The fourth Legendary Being, a silver-haired woman draped in celestial robes, turned her gaze to the heavens, a cold smile forming. "Perhaps even we will no longer be at the peak of the mortal plane. What an intriguing development."
Among the Mythical Beings, a masked entity seated upon a throne of blackened bones clicked its tongue. "To make even them stir? That little demon must be quite the sight."
A second Mythical Being, a dancer of flames who moved through the skies as if waltzing with the stars, paused mid-spin, her smile widening. "How rare... how deliciously rare... I must see this with my own eyes."
A third, an ancient dragon resting atop a hoard of wealth that could buy entire continents, slowly opened one glowing eye. "I had thought this age would be dull... I may have been mistaken."
The True Sages, Legendary Beings, and Mythical Beings slowly calmed down, but the weight of what had transpired left its mark. The world had shifted in an unseen way, a tide of fate now flowing in a new direction.
The Sovereigns only nodded and returned to their quiet lives, while those beneath them pondered in silence, their hearts beating with a mixture of dread, curiosity, and anticipation.
