Chapter 37 - "Ill run away"

Dante waved a hand in front of Vexion's face, his expression shifting from curiosity to mild irritation. "Oi, Oi, Vexion, are you listening?"

[Master, she seems to be dazed, likely in shock,]

Dante studied her closely. She was indeed staring at him, but her gaze was distant, unfocused. "Why, though?"

[Master ,while you were born into a family of power skill skill users, I suspect this is far from the norm. Legendary skill holders are already rare, extremely rare—my estimation is that finding a Mythical skill holder are significantly rarer.

Moreover, being born with a mythical skill and evolving a skill into the mythical tier are vastly different feats. I lack sufficient data, but I believe evolving a skill is exponentially more difficult. After all, Master, in eight years of growth, you have only gained three levels in some skills . Imagine how much harder it must be to push a skill past level 50.]

Dante scoffed. "I see. Tsk, not my problem. She'll have to face this on her own."

He stepped closer and gently touched Vexion's cheek. "Vexion, if this how you are going to react everytime you see something scary, we are going to have some problems"

Something in his words struck a chord within her.

Her mind, reinforced by Dante's skill, pushed against the weight of her revelation. Her blurry vision refocused, locking onto his face. He was watching her with mild annoyance?

Her heart clenched at the sight. Had she already failed him? Not even a full day had passed.

Dante's fingers trailed over her skin as he spoke, his voice soft but firm. "If your afraid of fighting Mythical Tier skill holders don't worry."

"Of course, I wont fight someone stronger then me.I'll simply run away. Then Ill get stronger. And if I still cant beat them , they probably have friedns. The friends can die."

He paused

"If the friend is too strong , then the family will die. If I fail again Ill wait a few years, ten, twenty a hundred and try again."

Vexion let out a quiet chuckle, holding back laughter. Master truly can twist anything to sound logical—even shameless acts like running away or retreating, sounds even more shameless when he explains it. Still, his words eased her anxiety. She took a deep breath, steadied herself, and straightened her robes.

Bowing deeply, she said, "Forgive me for showing such disgrace, Master. I will not falter again. I will live for you, fight for you—even if it means challenging the gods themselves."

Dante smirked, turning on his heel as he sensed an approaching presence. "I don't want you to die for me," he murmured, almost as an afterthought. "Bring me the heads of my enemies instead. In your case, live as long as I do."

Vexion smiled, bowing once more. "As you command, Master."

Before they could exchange another word, a loud voice echoed through the corridor.

"My baby! Where were you?! It's so late!" A beautiful woman rushed toward them, her blue robes flowing behind her. "I heard you brought home a girl! Who is she? Why did you take so long? You're far too young—"

Dante sighed as his mother, Aurora, scooped him into a suffocating embrace. He let her have her moment, letting her rattle off a series of breathless questions. "Mother, calm down, please. I'm fine. I can't answer a hundred questions all at once."

Aurora pouted, cupping his cheeks before pressing a kiss to his forehead. "You never said you'd be this late! And you refused a bodyguard! Sigh. If Justin weren't so doting, I never would've agreed to this."

Dante chuckled and gestured toward Vexion. "This is Vexion. My first subordinate." He grinned mischievously. "She has an epic-tier skill."

Aurora's gaze sharpened as she studied the girl. A heavy, dark aura lurked beneath the surface—raw pain, loneliness, and hatred wrapped in an obedient shell. But there was no empathy, no true warmth.

Who is this girl?

Aurora thought, her brows furrowing slightly.

More than that, she couldn't ignore Vexion's strength. At least past level 10 in the epic tier. That alone was startling for her apparent age.

Yet, despite all that darkness, the girl remained obedient to Dante. Aurora's lips pressed into a thin line as she turned her gaze back to her son

Aurora smiled as she circled around Dante, who was about to speak—only to pause as he watched his mother pull Vexion into a tight embrace.

Vexion stiffened, her body tense with uncertainty. She stuttered, "Madam, please be careful… I'm quite dirty, and—"

Aurora ignored her protests, simply holding the girl closer. She gently ran her hand over Vexion's back and through her hair, her voice soft and warm.

"Come, let's go to my room. Dante needs to bathe and rest. You can speak tomorrow."

She pulled back slightly, meeting Vexion's confused gaze. The teenager hesitated but ultimately obliged, unable to comprehend the reason behind this unexpected kindness.

Dante, however, had anticipated this reaction. He let out a small yawn, nodded, and made his way to his own small chamber across from Aurora's. His mother chuckled, watching her son sleepily shuffle away.

Soaking in the warm bath, Dante let himself relax, his eyes drifting shut—but his senses remained sharp. He exhaled slowly.

'What a day'
