Chapter 273 - Chapter 271: I Am a Useless Person

Sinestro's eyes trembled slightly, but he did not respond.

"If you want power, sign the contract."

Kino tossed a contract and left. What he wanted was the leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps, not just a Green Lantern.

Sinestro stared at the contract on the ground.

It was hard to tell how much time passed, but then footsteps echoed behind him.

Sinestro quickly picked up the contract and hid it in his chest.

It was the Green Lanterns who had lost their rings.

Their last memory was of Sinestro battling Darkseid, and then everything went black. They were awakened by the energy shockwave from OA's will and saw the pillar of light coming from the direction of the temple.

They hurried over.

"Sinestro, your hand…"

The fishman Green Lantern showed a worried expression, and the other Green Lanterns were filled with righteous anger, gritting their teeth.

"Where did Darkseid go?"

Someone asked in confusion.

"…After he defeated me, he went to the temple. He didn't seem interested in killing me," Sinestro said, hiding the emotions in his eyes.

Some noticed his odd behavior but thought it was just the aftermath of the Green Lantern Corps' defeat, as everyone was feeling low.

"We should head to the temple."

One of the Green Lanterns suggested.

The others agreed.

A group of Green Lanterns arrived at the temple.

"We've driven Darkseid back. The Green Lantern rings will be remade. You should rest and recover," the Guardians said from their thrones, their expressions stern.

"Yes! Next time, we won't lose!" The Green Lanterns said with renewed energy.

But only Sinestro looked up at the Guardians.

The once towering figures now appeared so small.

Could these small, evil beings deserve to sit so high?

Sinestro gently touched the place where the contract was hidden in his chest.

Kino then traveled to the Anti-Matter Universe, to Ismoth, Audron, Zanatos, and the Celestial Palace.

He collected samples of Seven Lantern Energy.

In the Weaver Star System, he arrived at Okara.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The red Omega beams obliterated every living thing on this planet—no, they weren't truly living beings, but more like energy bodies.

The puppets, resurrected by Larfleeze after being killed by him, continued to charge at Darkseid without fear.

"Damn it! My city, my army, everything!" Larfleeze cried out as he watched his city and ghost army being destroyed.

"Give me the Orange Lantern Energy," Kino said, looking at the lantern furnace in Larfleeze's arms.

"Impossible, this is mine! You are mine! Everything is mine!" Larfleeze gripped the furnace tightly, his eyes filled with greed and murderous intent.

The orange ring on his finger glowed brightly, releasing more semi-transparent orange ghosts.

They were strange-looking, carrying rifles, swords, bows, giant squids, five-meter-tall giants, and even some of the ghosts that Kino had destroyed before.

But compared to before, they were more solidified.

"By the upper limit, the Orange Lantern ring should be the strongest of the seven, but it also has a huge effect on the user."

[This guy has already been consumed by desire and has become a monster who will never be satisfied.]

Breathing deeply, Kino unleashed a cold breath.

The movements of the orange lantern ghosts slowed down, eventually freezing into ice sculptures.

Kino approached the shivering Larfleeze, who was enveloped in orange lantern energy but had lost his ability to move.

"Stop, stop! This is mine, you are mine too!" Larfleeze's eyes erupted with unprecedented greed as he saw Kino reaching for the lantern furnace.

The frozen ghosts began to thaw, charging toward Kino once again.

Boom!

Kino curled his fingers, a burst of energy crushing Larfleeze's skull.

Larfleeze collapsed, his eyes rolling back in his head, as the orange ghosts dissipated. Despite this, Larfleeze still held onto the lantern furnace tightly.

Kino took the furnace from his hands, completing his collection of all seven lantern furnaces.

"Give it back to me, it's mine!" Larfleeze shouted as he woke up again.

Boom!

Kino kicked him away and opened a portal to return to Earth.

[Isn't this guy worth recruiting? He has potential.]

Venom asked curiously.

"He can't even control his own desires. He's just trash."

[Isn't that the same with you?]

"I just enjoy it. I don't get lost in it. When I'm handling business, my desires don't shake me. I am the Demon King."

[I originally planned to work on Tifa+2B tonight, but now I have to…]

"Sorry, I'm trash."

[...]

Earth

Black Adam was covered in burns, his foot pressed down on a muscular man in a similar uniform.

"Who are you? Why do you have the same powers as me?" the man asked, gripping Black Adam's foot tightly, trying to stop it from pushing down.

"Say the word, and I'll spare you."

Black Adam's voice was cold, and his foot continued to press down, sinking into the man's chest.

Crack! Crack!

The sound of bones breaking echoed.

"Aaahhh!"

The man's eyes bulged, blood pouring from his mouth, and the previously unmatched divine power he had lost its effect.

"Shazam!"

The man shouted as Black Adam vanished from his sight.

A bolt of lightning descended from the sky, and the man transformed back into a weak homeless man.

"Sh…" he started to say, but a shadow enveloped him.

Snap!

Black Adam released the boulder in his hand, and blood began to flow from beneath it.

Black Adam did not let his guard down. Following the teachings of Ra's al Ghul, he flew into the sky and quickly scanned the surroundings to ensure no one was nearby.

"Shazam!"

Another bolt of lightning struck, and the transformation reversed.

"Shazam!"

This time, two bolts of lightning descended, and the massive energy destroyed the surrounding land.

A new version of Black Adam appeared, his uniform still black, but now with blue lightning across his chest, the once gold marking now tinged with darker spots.

He waved his hand, and countless bolts of lightning lashed out like wild serpents, wreaking havoc on the barren mountains.

"Not bad. It's about twice as strong as before."

Black Adam retracted the lightning and bowed slightly to Kino, who had appeared out of nowhere.

"Thank you for the opportunity, leader."

"Hmm, how does it feel?"

"I'm much stronger, but a person can only hold three divine powers at most. Any more, and I might die."

"Hmm, that's probably because your foundation is too weak. When the time comes, I'll have Ra's al Ghul inject you with a strengthening serum."

"Yes."

Kino opened a portal and sent Black Adam back. He still had two more things to do.

First, he needed to collect the Lazarus Pit from this world, then head to Gotham.
