Sitting in his monitor room, Asher lazily munched on a packet of potato chips while his eyes drifted across the surveillance screens.
On the feed, three men in dark shades and tailored black suits strode down the hallway toward Loona's quarters.
They knocked, and Loona opened the door. Through the silent CCTV footage, Asher couldn't hear their conversation, but the intent was obvious: they were taking her. Exactly as he had anticipated.
Loona clearly found the sketchy men suspicious and refused to go along with them. She opened her mouth to scream, but one of the men pressed a rag over her nose and mouth. Within seconds, her body went limp. They hoisted her unconscious frame and carried her away.
Asher didn't bother standing up to intervene. He simply watched them haul her out to their vehicle and drive off, his steady crunching uninterrupted.
