The old Queen didn't return to the dining room after she fled with water dripping down her dress. Rose could only imagine how embarrassing it must have been—having her son yell at her while she was drenched in water in front of servants.
It was hilarious for onlookers, especially since her plan backfired. The only reason Rose wasn't laughing loud enough to shake the whole room was because it would make her act less believable.
After Violeta exited, Caius made sure she was alright and placed her in her appropriate seat next to him after the servants had cleared the wet mess.
Thankfully, lunch had not been served when Violeta threw her fit, so lunch wasn't ruined, but the table covers and some silverware had to be changed.
When they had settled into their seats, the servants began serving their meals. Things were quieter and remained so for the rest of lunch. Rose could understand why, it was awkward after the old Queen's demonstration.
