Chapter 1 - Prolouge:

"At the northernmost end of the continent, I and my comrades arrived at the place that the people of this world call heaven....

Aureole, the land where souls rest.

Many souls gather there, and I spoke with friends who once fought alongside me—Flamme, one of the Legendary Mages"

...

Twenty-six years have elapsed since the Hero Himmel's passing....

Turk Region.

A mysterious person wearing a cloak and hood was walking up the stairs in an old, vine-filled tower.

Then they sat on the edge of the wall on the top floor, turning their backs to a garden of blue flowers growing there, along with silver butterflies fluttering in the sunset, creating a poetic and mysterious scene.

They caressed the flower petals that landed in their palms with a tone full of satisfaction with their achievements. "The flowers have finally bloomed, just in time..."

Suddenly one of the silver butterflies landed on their finger as if whispering some news, the cloaked person chuckled and spoke in a voice as clear and soft as a nymph's. "My friend's disciple, Frieren, has arrived isn't she?"

When the cloaked person released the flower and let it fly with the wind that suddenly appeared, they didn't turn around and knew who it was.

Frieren, the disciple that Flamemel was most interested in teaching.

Frieren said as she looked up at the hooded figure sitting on the other side as she slowly landed on top of a broken stone wall. "I figured they'd be here, but I wasn't expecting you to grow so many flowers, Lunox."

"Nemophilas, also known as Baby Blue Eyes flower.... A flower with quite a special meaning. I heard from the villagers that there are two magicians looking for this flower...."

The hooded person stood up and brushed off their clothes, slowly removing their hood to reveal a tall, slender woman with skin as white as snow with hair as silver as white, reaching down past their knees in length.

They were like a goddess of the moon, making Fern's eyes widen and admiring the beauty of Lunox.

"I heard that there were two mages in the village who wanted to find this flower, so I took the opportunity to plant it. Sorry for not telling you."

"No worry, adventure also includes exploration and searching. If you talk about it, it won't be interesting anymore." Frieren bent down and gently touched the blue petal that she and Fern had spent six months searching for. "Now we can create a spell for blue moon weed. Thank you for helping us, Lunox."

"You still have a passion for magic huh, Frieren?" Lunox chuckled and walked over to pat Frieren's head. "And you have a disciple? You didn't say anything to me!"

"Just recently.... Hey I'm not a child anymore." Frieren said but she didn't mind the head pat.

"Why are you so passionate about magic? I don't understand." After a while of observing Lunox and Frieren talking to each other, the girl decided to speak but spoke very softly.

"But you do, you never gave up on becoming a mage." Frieren slowly responded when she heard Fern ask and didn't understand Frieren at all

"That's different. I would've been happy to learn any skill that allowed me to support myself. It didn't have to be magic...."

"But you chose magic." Frieren's words tapped into Fern's favorite memory.

It was the first time she created butterflies with magic when she was with Heiter, she was so happy when she learned magic. That made Fern unconsciously smile as Frieren knew deep down in Fern's mind, she always chose magic.

"You're right...."

...

"I never thought I'd see blue moon weed again." Himmel's statue is finally decorated with a bed of blue-moon weed flowers to the satisfaction of the herbalist. The old herbalist said when she witnessed this rare flower with her own eyes again. "Thank you, Ms. Frieren. Now this statue will never be forgotten."

"Oh, I nearly forgot." Before Frieren and Fern leave, Frieren place a wreath of flowers on top of Himmel's head as she remembers the wreaths on her comrade's heads.

"Aw..." Lunox tilted her head and chuckled softly when she saw Frieren acting so adorable. It seemed like Himmel still left a very deep impression on Frieren even though she didn't understand what love meant.
