Chapter 186: Beating Down Beerus—Joyous Celebration
This was something he had never experienced since becoming a God of Destruction! Not even Whis had ever given him this kind of feeling!
Lin Qi—this guy's growth rate was nothing short of astonishing! His talent had reached terrifying levels!
"I finally broke through... I've waited a long time for this moment." Lin Qi looked at his hands, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
"What?! You bastard..." Beerus snapped out of his shock and lunged at Lin Qi, trying to cover his momentary loss of composure.
But his punch hit nothing but air—Lin Qi had silently appeared behind him and smiled. "You can't beat me anymore!"
Lin Qi struck before Beerus could react. Unable to dodge in time, Beerus could only throw up an elbow to block the incoming blow.
"Tch..." Beerus winced as a sharp pain shot through his arm, his expression turning grim.
The powerful impact sent him flying backward uncontrollably—he couldn't stabilize himself no matter how hard he tried.
"For that little thought you just had... I think it's only fair I repay you!" Lin Qi flashed a cold smile.
If Beerus hadn't shown killing intent earlier, this battle could've ended there, sparing his pride.
But that murderous intent had thoroughly pissed Lin Qi off—so now he'd return the favor, with interest.
Boom!
The next instant, Lin Qi caught up to the retreating Beerus and smashed a heavy punch right into his face.
A deep, resounding thud echoed through the dim, pocket dimension, followed by a terrifying shockwave that rippled outward in all directions.
"Amazing... just one punch..." Quitela raised a hand to shield himself from the ensuing gust, his eyes wide with disbelief at what he was seeing.
Whis, though his expression remained calm, couldn't hide the flash of shock in his eyes—his inner turmoil betrayed by that momentary glint.
After that first punch, Lin Qi didn't let up. Blow after blow followed, raining down on Beerus, who had no time to react—he could only take the hits head-on.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Lin Qi's punches came faster and faster. Beerus gritted his teeth, struggling more and more to keep up!
His movements were swift as shadows, the friction of the air exploding into light rings that spread outward with whooshing sounds, warping the entire space around them.
Beerus's earlier confidence had long since been replaced by astonishment!
By the time he barely managed to block another strike, his arms were visibly trembling.
The sheer force of the blows sent him flying again, completely unable to hold his footing.
"Hah..." Lin Qi showed no mercy. Watching the bald cat get knocked away, he gathered energy in both hands and prepared to unleash a ki blast.
Boom!
Seeing the incoming energy wave, Beerus knew better than to take it lightly. He unleashed his own destructive energy to counter it.
As the energies collided and exploded, Lin Qi once again appeared behind Beerus—his speed was so outrageous, it seemed almost instantaneous.
Another devastating punch came flying in. Beerus's heart skipped—he tried to retaliate, only to find it was too late.
With no choice, he crossed his arms to block the blow.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The terrifying power surged through his arms. Just like before, Beerus was sent flying, with Lin Qi close behind, striking like a shadow.
The numb, swelling pain in Beerus's arms grew more intense. Enraged, Beerus finally roared and started to fight back.
But it was futile. Against Lin Qi in his Super 7 form, Beerus could do nothing but endure a humiliating beatdown.
"Looks like it's time to wrap this up." Lin Qi curled his lips and once again flashed behind Beerus, slashing down with a knife-hand strike.
"Damn it... A God of Destruction isn't someone you can just defeat!!"
The veins on Beerus's forehead bulged. He barely avoided the strike and countered with a flurry of punches.
Countless blows landed on Lin Qi—but he didn't even flinch. Beerus quickly pulled back and launched a barrage of energy blasts.
It was the classic Prince Vegeta-style attack!
Endless energy blasts surged toward Lin Qi. Beerus didn't hold back—after all, energy was free to him.
But unfortunately, in classic Dragon Ball fashion, all the smoke and noise resulted in zero damage—Lin Qi was completely unscathed.
Beerus waited anxiously to see if his attack had worked, but there was no trace of Lin Qi in the swirling smoke.
"Beerus, you can surrender now." Lin Qi's voice rang out again—he had already reappeared right in front of Beerus.
"What?!" Beerus froze again. Lin Qi hadn't taken a scratch!
As he spoke, Lin Qi threw a sneaky punch that landed squarely on Beerus's eye.
Thud!
That punch gave Beerus a solid black eye. The very next second, Lin Qi's other fist connected—giving him a perfect pair.
"You bastard... you bastard... I'll kill you!!" Beerus had completely lost his mind to rage. He threw his head back and roared.
His power erupted, and at last, the pocket dimension around them began to crumble under the strain.
"Hey hey, Whis! Reinforce the dimension, quick!" Quitela shouted in panic as the black sky above began to crack like shattered glass.
"Don't you know how strong I am?! This might actually hurt me!"
"Aiya, Lord Quitela, it's not that I don't want to fix it—it's just that after Lord Lin Qi and Lord Beerus's battle, this dimension is already beyond repair."
Whis replied nonchalantly, then looked over at the still-raging Beerus and added,
"Lord Beerus, the dimension is breaking down. Please rein in your power. Let's go back."
"No... we haven't settled this yet!" Beerus's bloodshot eyes locked onto Lin Qi as though staring at a mortal enemy.
Whoosh—
Lin Qi returned to Quitela's side and shifted back into his normal form. "So, Quitela—how do you feel?"
"Great. Fantastic. Better than I've ever felt!" Quitela's grin practically split his face as he slapped Lin Qi's shoulder repeatedly.
"You're my pride and joy! Damn... you were flawless! Absolutely brilliant!"
"Come on, let's go have hot pot—time to celebrate!" Quitela turned to Whis. "You in for hot pot?"
"Oh... it has been a while. Alright, I'll take everyone back."
Whis nodded, then, remembering something, created a protective barrier around the still-furious Beerus.
In the blink of an eye, everyone had returned to the God of Destruction Realm.
Cognac was quick on the draw—he had already conjured up tables and chairs with his staff, and the table was piled high with hot pot ingredients.
As the broth came to a boil, everyone cheerfully and skillfully started dipping and cooking their food.
