Chapter 190: Goku Wants to Take on Beerus
"Hey, hey, what's the deal? Can't you let me fight Vegeta first?" Goku complained unhappily as Beerus stepped in front of him.
Ever since Beerus appeared on Earth, King Kai had been on edge. But by the time Lin Qi brought Goku away from King Kai's planet, the god's unease had intensified. Though North Kai wasn't particularly powerful, he was still a deity—he could sense Beerus's energy.
Staring nervously at the sky, King Kai shouted in a panic, "Hey! Goku! You can't talk to this lord like that!"
"Goku! He's way out of your league! Do you even know how strong Lord Beerus is? Be a decent person and behave yourself!"
"Just let him beat up Vegeta..." King Kai was drenched in cold sweat. "Are you seriously incapable of resting in peace even after death?"
In the Realm of the Kais, the Old Supreme Kai sat cross-legged on a grassy field, eyes fixed solemnly on a crystal orb. "That guy has shown up... The universe is headed for chaos again."
"Eh? Ancestor, you know that cat?" Supreme Kai Shin looked curiously at the orb.
"Shut up! Calling him a 'cat'—are you trying to get us both killed?"
The Old Supreme Kai glanced around in a panic before quickly covering Shin's mouth. "Don't talk nonsense!"
Goku's attitude clearly irked Beerus, whose eyes narrowed as he turned and coldly stared at him. "Is that how you address a God of Destruction?"
"A God of Destruction? So what? Is that supposed to be impressive?" Goku looked up at Beerus, completely fearless—if anything, he looked excited.
Cold sweat slid down Vegeta's forehead. What the hell is Kakarot doing?! Even after becoming a god himself, Vegeta still feared the God of Destruction. But this guy? He was provoking him? Was he suicidal?! He hadn't even become a Super Saiyan God yet!
But this was Goku—a battle junkie through and through. Despite King Kai screaming in his ear about how powerful Beerus was, hyping him up to the heavens, Goku lost all interest in Vegeta and focused entirely on Beerus.
"Lord God of Destruction, right? How about sparring with me before you go a round with Vegeta?"
Beerus sneered at Goku's invitation. "Hmph, I'm not going to waste my time on some nobody like you!"
"Get out of the way—don't interfere with my fight against the Saiyan God. Otherwise, I'll kill you! Whis can just bring you back later if necessary."
But Goku wasn't fazed by the threat in the slightest. He grinned and said, "How can you call it a waste of time if we've never fought?"
"Hey, Kakarot, you can't beat him!" Vegeta warned, his expression grim. Only after becoming a Super Saiyan God did he truly understand how terrifying Beerus was. So strong he felt like a newborn—utterly powerless.
He still remembered the time Beerus forced his father, King Vegeta, to the ground like a rag doll.
That guy… his energy can destroy everything... That terrifying energy...
"Have you lost your mind, Goku?! What are you doing?!" Chi-Chi was practically hysterical. Goku had just been resurrected—now he was trying to pick a fight again? And with a god?
"Dad, move out of the way! Let Uncle Vegeta handle it!" Even Gohan was panicking, worried sick that something would happen to Goku.
But Goku didn't even seem to hear them. All he cared about now was fighting Beerus—then Vegeta. His mind was consumed by battle. Standing firm, he refused to budge. "I know Vegeta is strong, and he must be even stronger after becoming a god."
"But I'm no slouch either. With the right method, I can become a Super Saiyan God too!"
"Hmph, ridiculous!" Beerus growled, the frustration from his earlier failure against Lin Qi flaring again. His glare at Goku grew even colder.
"You Saiyans… all of you are battle maniacs. One or two I could understand—but all of you? You really aren't afraid of me?"
Goku couldn't care less. He immediately transformed into Super Saiyan, clenching his fists and preparing for combat.
"Uh... don't tell me that's your strongest form? How boring!!" Beerus glanced dismissively at Super Saiyan Goku, then turned to look at Lin Qi, who remained calm on the sidelines.
"This is the best the Saiyans from our universe can do? Whis, what do you think?"
Setting down his coffee and torn between a mousse cake and a Black Forest cake, Whis replied, "Lord Beerus, that one..."
"He's the one who helped Vegeta defeat Frieza. He's already considered one of the top-tier Saiyans."
"Hmph..."
Beerus snorted, clearly unimpressed. His expression, completely disregarding Gohan, made Goku raise his power further.
"Then I'll show you my full strength! Lord Beerus, was it?"
A massive shockwave exploded outward, ripping trees from the ground and threatening to flatten nearby buildings. Whis calmly raised his staff and formed a protective barrier.
The ground cracked and caved in with spiderweb fractures as Goku entered Super Saiyan 3, his confidence sky-high. "This is my strongest form. What do you think?"
Nearby, Yamcha, Puar, Oolong, and Master Roshi were all trembling.
Even Android 18 looked pale. "Krillin, can you feel that guy? My instincts are screaming—he's terrifying."
"Even Majin Buu wouldn't stand a chance!"
"Uh..." Mr. Satan crawled out from under a table, eyes wide. "Stronger than Buu?!"
"Looks like all you Saiyans are brain-dead—obsessed with fighting!" Beerus said with disdain.
"Ha!" Goku ignored the insult and lunged at Beerus, unleashing a flurry of punches.
To everyone's shock, none of Goku's Super Saiyan 3 punches landed. Not one.
Beerus moved with supernatural ease. No matter how fast or furious Goku's attacks became—raging like a hurricane—Beerus blocked them all with just one finger.
One finger!
Beerus no longer seemed contemptuous. His eyes flashed with appreciation. "Your speed and power are impressive. No wonder you were able to defeat Frieza."
Everyone watching was stunned. Their faces were filled with dread—even Goku was shaken, his expression growing more serious.
He doesn't even give off any energy... And he's this powerful? Is this what it means to be a god?
A new level of power?
"Then I'll use my ultimate move!" Goku's eyes sharpened as he soared into the air and aimed his final technique at Beerus.
"Kame...hame..."
"HA!"
Goku thrust his hands forward, unleashing a massive energy blast that roared straight toward Beerus.
