"…Rheanne."
Selene's eyes widened in shock and the sword in her hand trembled before she lowered it slightly, staring at the woman in disbelief.
"…Aunt Rheanne?"
Rheanne smiled softly at Selene, "You've grown so strong, little one."
She then turned her full attention to Brandon.
For a long moment, the two simply looked at each other... the one who had remained unchanged by time and the one who had transcended it.
Rheanne took a slow step closer and her eyes shimmered with unshed tears as she reached out and gently touched his cheek.
"You haven't aged a day…" she murmured. "My Kael…"
Brandon caught her hand and pressed it more firmly against his face, closing his eyes for a brief second.
"I waited," he said quietly.
Unable to hold back any longer, he pulled her into his arms.
Rheanne melted against him instantly, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck and burying her face in the crook of his neck.
