Sunlight filtered softly through the windows, casting a warm glow across the living room.
Ravene and Elize sat side by side on the long couch, each holding a cup of tea.
Elize took a slow sip before speaking "You barely slept last night, didn't you?"
Ravene let out a small breath, staring into her cup.
"I kept going over the readings again. Even when I closed my eyes, I could still see the numbers."
Elize glanced at her with a mild, knowing look "You're pushing yourself too hard."
"I don't really have a choice," Ravene replied. "With... something like this."
Before Elize could respond, the soft sound of footsteps approached from the hallway.
Rheanne entered the living room.
The moment her eyes landed on Ravene, her expression sharpened, and she walked straight over and sat down beside her, turning her body slightly so she was facing her fully.
"Ravene."
Both women looked at her.
"The tests you ran on Kael. What did you find?"
