Jainan Island.
It was a vast landmass.
But the soil was nothing but salty, barren wasteland.
No crops could grow here — a cursed patch of earth.
Otherwise, pirates would've fought tooth and nail to claim it long ago.
Now, only a few scattered taverns dotted the landscape.
Wensan, a retired old pirate turned tavern owner, was the first to notice something was off.
The island… was trembling.
With a practiced ease, Wensan launched himself through the window, using a technique much like Geppo, propelling into the sky.
His instincts had been right.
There — in the distance — a towering figure clad in pink.
Wensan's pupils shrank. Without a second thought, he turned and bolted toward the open sea.
The Heavenly Yaksha Doflamingo — the man who killed the Golden Lion.
Whatever was about to happen, Jainan Island was no place to stick around.
As for the people fleeing? Doflamingo paid them no mind.
He wasn't some bloodthirsty slaughterer.
His focus was entirely on the task at hand, pushing his Devil Fruit power to its limit.
A single thread, glowing with a menacing purple light, snaked below the island's foundation, cutting and slicing like a mad thing.
Moments later...
Doflamingo surveyed the island — a landmass rivaling even Onigashima in size — and gave a satisfied nod.
He called over his shoulder, "Smoothie. Begin."
"Doffy, I might not make it all the way to the battlefield," Smoothie replied, activating her power. Slowly, Jainan Island began to separate from the earth.
Even after all this time with her Devil Fruit, moving something this massive was still overwhelming.
"No problem. We've got other ways to help you."
Doflamingo had planned for this.
"Vergo, get ready for liftoff!"
"I know what to do, Doffy!"
Vergo's body transformed into a black dragon. Thick clouds of black and purple smoke billowed around him, lifting Jainan Island inch by inch.
Higher. Higher into the sky.
"Fufufufufufu... Let's give them a real surprise!!!"
...
Not far from the battlefield.
The Queen Mama Chanter sailed closer, lively songs ringing out.
"Mama! Kaido and Whitebeard are already fighting!" Perospero reported, licking his candy-striped staff.
"Ma-ma-ma-ma! I can feel it already!"
BIG MOM's eyes gleamed as she gazed at the swirling clouds in the distance.
"Find the Marines! Keep your eyes on them! Zeus!"
"Here, Mama!"
The playful white cloud instantly darkened, purple lightning crackling through its form.
"Mama Blitz!!!"
With a flash, Zeus carried BIG MOM's massive body into the sky, streaking toward the battlefield.
In cartoonish panic, Prometheus scrambled after them. "Wait for me, Mama!"
...
At the heart of the battlefield.
The clash was only escalating.
Marco and King were locked in a relentless duel.
Frustration built in Marco's chest — he needed to shake King off and get back to saving his crewmates.
Elsewhere, the Ten Oni — a monstrous gang of ten giant oni — were brawling in a bloody battle against Little Oars Jr.
Whitebeard's division commanders were scattered, desperately trying to support crewmates being pushed back by the ferocious Beast Pirates.
On the icy field, the Ice Witch Whitey Bay had turned the ground into a deadly meat grinder.
One after another, members of Whitebeard's 43 allied crews poured in to reinforce the line.
But now, the frozen battlefield swarmed with ice-poisoned zombies — crazed and attacking friend and foe alike.
And in the center, the two titans clashed at full force.
"Uorororororo! Whitebeard, you're getting old!!!"
Kaido, using his Devil Fruit to soar into the sky, stomped on the clouds beneath him. In both hands, he gripped his Hassaikai club, now crackling with the dark lightning of Conqueror's Haki.
Gravity pulled him downward, adding unstoppable momentum as he hurtled toward Whitebeard like a living missile.
He could fly — and he intended to crush everything.
"But I can still shatter you, Kaido!!!"
With a thunderous roar, Whitebeard crouched, legs coiling like springs.
Even the deck of the Moby Dick, crafted from the legendary Treasure Tree Adam, splintered beneath his feet.
And then — he leapt.
His massive bisento blade gleamed, swirling with red and black Conqueror's Haki as he met Kaido in midair.
"Thunder Bagua!!"
"DOOM!!"
Murakumogiri and Hassaikai collided — one from above, one from below.
The impact was deafening, the sheer force resonating in every fighter's bones.
Their weapons never even touched — an invisible barrier of raw Haki keeping them apart.
From the clash point, black lightning surged outward, ripping through the sky and land.
Hurricanes burst forth, sending everyone around tumbling, unable to get close to the storm of power.
On the deck of the Moby Dick, the division commanders watched with wide, terrified eyes.
"That's Conqueror's Haki clashing at a distance!!!"
The last time they'd seen anything like this... was when Pops fought Roger.
Back then, neither man could gain the upper hand.
And now... Kaido had reached that same level?
Could Pops really win this time?
Suddenly, a shadow crept silently over the sea, darkening both fleets as it loomed above.
It took a few heartbeats before anyone thought to look up.
And then — another dragon's head poked through the clouds, battered and trailing bits of rubble.
"Another Kaido?!"
Whitebeard's pirates all cried out in horror.
One Kaido was already enough to pin down their captain.
But two? How were they supposed to fight that?
On the other side, the Beast Pirates roared with renewed energy.
"Bwahahaha! That kid finally made it!"
Queen laughed uproariously, firing his Gatling gun wildly into the ice battlefield, hitting friend and foe alike.
"Fufufufufufu! Kaido-san, I've prepared a perfect battleground for you!!!"
A chilling laugh echoed from the dragon's head.
And now, everyone noticed — perched atop the dragon was a pink figure.
The Heavenly Yaksha.
The man who killed the Flying Pirate — Donquixote Doflamingo!!!
Even as confusion rippled through the crowd, a lone observer from the Numancia Flamingo ship had a clearer view.
Hawkeye Mihawk's sharp eyes spotted it: hidden in the clouds, Jainan Island — its weight drastically reduced by canceling gravity — was spinning, accelerating faster and faster, tethered to Doflamingo by glowing threads like a giant yo-yo.
"Uororororo! Doflamingo, what the hell are you cooking up? Show me!!!"
Kaido bellowed mid-battle, grinning through the storm of power.
"Fufufufufu… The big one's coming, Kaido-san!"
Just thinking about what was about to happen sent a thrill through Doflamingo's blood. His excitement soared to its peak.
He raised both hands as if to grasp the sky itself — then, with a fierce motion, he slammed them down.
And shouted:
"Breathtaking!!!"
Above, Vergo groaned as the pressure from above forced him lower, gritting his teeth against the immense force.
Down below, all eyes widened in horror.
From the clouds, Jainan Island — spinning at breakneck speed — was wrenched free by Doflamingo's threads.
Like the head of a colossal meteor hammer, the island plummeted downward.
"RRRRUMMMBBBLLLE!!!"
Its target: the frozen patch of sea below.
Right where the largest concentration of fighters from both sides had gathered.
"It's an island!!!"
"Get out of there — NOW!!!"
