Chapter 14 - Chapter 12: Arrival on Pandora

A few weeks after my serum enhancements, I spent that time adjusting my gear to my new capabilities and preparing for my departure.

My family already knew I would leave as I did inform them and I made sure that only I can contact them, that way no one can learn or evesdrop on my relationship to my family and identity.

I did have Lyra have a piece of herself remain back home to make sure she can keep my family safe or at least inform me of anything.

I had already departed from the planet and left a recording behind, I wasn't big on saying goodbyes and such.

I can tell my sister is going to be royally pissed because I didn't give her a hug before leaving.

The Phantom is the name of my ship. At one hundred and seventy meters of sleek, predatory engineering, it was a marvel a silhouette that mirrored the SSV Normandy from the Mass Effect series in terms of size and facilities.

The hull was lined with the same nanite rich materials I had spent years perfecting, capable of rearranging its molecular structure to repair damage or adapt to atmospheric pressures, provided I fed her enough raw materials and power.

I had taken a note from the Fero bots from the Horizon Zero Dawn game, where the Fero robots could multiply by consuming bio mass. Hence I had that sane formula made for the Nanomachines where it can break down existing matter and reshape it to what I wanted or dilute the material substance to create much more quantity but lose quality.

I had burned through every credit I had earned, all to obtain everything for the materials and components of what i have now.

My wealth had gone into investing in my ship, gear and my enhancements. But I had been clever about how I earned it using what I knew of established lore.

My early patents in personal shield tech had caught the attention of Pandolin, securing me lucrative contracts that kept my research funded.

But my real stroke of genius been the acquisition of the Torgue Company.

Yes, I obtained full ownership and rights of the entire Torgue Company. While many would think to obtain Atlas' ownership certificate, people forget i would have to wait years to obtain that, what's the point then? I need to wait for Handsome Jack to run Atlas into the ground and obtain it's certificate of ownership before I can steal it from his office on Hyperion's main Head Quarters which would be suicide.

I knew the future, I knew that one day, a man named High Five Flexington would make the most catastrophic business decision in history, selling his Company for twelve dollars and a high five.

I'd found him years before his 'glory days' truly exploded. Using Lyra to trace his familial connections, I had located the young, bombastic entrepreneur before he had even perfected his explosive ordnance.

I bought into his vision when it was still mostly in its advertisement phase, I had to kill Anton Smith by sending a Assassin after him, and guess who accepted my contract. It was Zane Flynt, definitely didn't expect that.

And it was fortunate as I made a long lasting contract with Zane and even if he doesn't do a contract for me, he receives passive pay daily to keep him happy, all while he can accept jobs for other clients. But I did make it clear he must specify one name of the target he is going after so that it doesn't overlay with anyone I know, especially since I am paying him way more, and I did inform him there is still a way to complete the contract but must inform me everytime. Zane saw no issue in this and agreed, especially when I enhanced his arsenal and tech as a favour.

As for Torgue, I offered him ten dollars and a fair binding agreement. As Torgue's weapons began to revolutionize the market, the profits poured back into my labs, fueling the creation of all my plans and projects.

We didn't go straight to Pandora. The fuel costs for a jump that direct would have been tremendous without proper reserves, and I wasn'table to get that much fuel without being noticed on the books.

We made a quick stop at a neutral trade system a minor moon with lax security protocols. While the Phantom refueled, Lyra and I hacked into multiple systems and stole alot of money. We didn't steal much just enough to pad our operational budget without triggering any corporate alarms.

The hyperspace tunnel was a kaleidoscope of multicoloured light before finally ending soon after.

"Arrival confirmed," Lyra announced. "We have entered the orbit of Pandora."

With that said, a planetary scan was performed before the Phantom was directed towards the outskirts of Fyrestone while it entered invisibility mode and evaded the boundary turret towers placed everywhere across Pandora's surface.
