Yu leaned slightly into Adrian's shoulder, still holding his hand as if it were a lifeline.
"They're asleep right now, the babies…"
He murmured.
"All three of them. Cain still clings to me whenever he stirs."
A faint smile tugged at his mouth.
"You'd think he was born older than his brothers."
Adrian's eyes softened at that.
"Emily told me. I think he just knows where the safest place is."
Yu's smile faded as quickly as it had come.
"I worry about them every second. I don't know how to protect them… not here."
His fingers tightened unconsciously around Adrian's.
"Theo's grandfather already wants to separate them. If he gets his way—"
Yu broke off and shook his head, unable to finish.
Adrian's grip stayed steady, the same calm he used to wear in court seeping into his voice.
"That's why I'm here…"
He said quietly.
