Chapter 30 - Chapter 030

With the Deathland Rampage Insect bound tightly, the Blackwater Giant Python continued to constrict, tightening its coils further and further, forcing the insect to let out agonized roars.

At the same time—

the python opened its devouring maw and bit down viciously onto the insect's back.

That exact spot…

was the wound where it had previously torn off the armor in a sneak attack.

Its two massive fangs pierced deep into the insect's body.

With a brutal wrench—

a large chunk of flesh was ripped clean off, devoured alive.

"ROAR!!"

Blinding pain surged through the insect.

Its roar became even more savage as its massive body thrashed violently.

The clash of these two titanic creatures caused the earth itself to quake endlessly.

A deep, earthen-yellow glow ignited in the insect's grotesque eyes.

The ground churned violently.

Several enormous earthen spears formed, tearing through the air and striking the python directly—

piercing through its scales and muscles, embedding deep into its body.

"Hiss—!"

In pain, the Blackwater Giant Python released its coils.

The two monsters faced off once again.

"It seems… aside from humans, these creatures from different dimensions are hostile to each other as well."

Mammon's eyes flickered as he watched the two beasts trying to kill each other without restraint.

The insect came from the Insect Realm.

The python—from the Abyss Realm.

Clearly—

they could not coexist.

The insect's presence here was an intrusion into the python's territory.

Their life-and-death struggle proved one thing:

Creatures from different dimensions were just as hostile to each other as they were to humans.

"They see each other as prey."

A faint smile appeared on Ming Nü's beautiful face, but her gem-like eyes gleamed faintly.

The law of the jungle among monsters—

was even more brutal.

Both creatures saw the other as prey.

But so did she.

The flesh of monsters, rich with spiritual energy—

was an incredible source of nourishment for demons.

For the past few days, Mammon and Ming Nü had only been consuming monster flesh supplied by Mr. Dai.

But the highest-grade among those…

had only been C-class.

And now—

before them stood two genuine A-class monsters.

"They really intend to fight to the death…"

Mammon watched as the two creatures charged at each other again, deep in thought.

Even under survival-of-the-fittest rules—

even insects struggle to survive.

A-class monsters possessed true intelligence.

They should understand that a prolonged fight would lead to mutual destruction.

And yet—

the insect refused to retreat.

Unless…

there was something here.

Something valuable enough to make it stay.

"And also…"

Mammon shifted his gaze toward a distant stretch of pitch-black forest.

Because of the battle between the two overlords, all other creatures in this area had already scattered.

But for some reason—

he felt like something was still there.

Watching.

Especially during the clash between the insect and the python—

he had vaguely sensed a fluctuation from that direction.

But it vanished too quickly.

When he tried to sense again—

there was nothing.

Only faint, insignificant life auras.

Was it just his imagination?

"Ming Nü. Did you sense any spatial fluctuation?"

After a moment of silence, Mammon asked.

Ming Nü, who wielded spatial Blood Demon Arts, was far more sensitive to such disturbances.

"…No, my lord."

She closed her eyes and carefully sensed the surroundings again before lowering her head in reply.

Mammon nodded.

His attention returned to the battle—

but a part of his mind remained on that forest.

The battle between the monsters was brutal.

An hour later—

the battlefield was saturated with a suffocating stench of blood.

Both creatures were heavily wounded.

The insect's armor had shattered across most of its body, exposing raw flesh beneath.

The python's body was riddled with more than a dozen bloody holes.

One of its eyes had even been torn open by the insect's forelimbs.

"City Lord… it's about time. Those two beasts are nearly finished."

From a distant position, Li Qiancheng and his group were resting.

A vision-enhanced ability user reported excitedly.

Even from afar, he could clearly observe the condition of the two monsters.

"Good."

A smile appeared on Li Qiancheng's usually stern face as he stood up.

"Let's move. Finish them both."

In his eyes—

beasts were still just beasts.

No matter how strong—

they were mindless.

When two tigers fight—

both are wounded.

And the true hunter—

comes last.

His smile deepened.

Originally, they had prepared to pay a heavy price just to deal with the insect.

But now?

Another monster had appeared—

reducing their losses instead.

If he could obtain both corpses—

absorb their life essence—

his strength would rise again.

"City Lord! We're surrounded!"

Suddenly, the vision user shouted.

In the darkness—

pairs of crimson eyes began to light up.

Monsters.

"Why are there so many…?"

Li Qiancheng and Li Shiqian frowned.

There were too many.

Far too many.

In the distance—

Mr. Dai and Chen Jun stood quietly in the shadows.

A faint smile curled on Mr. Dai's lips.

"Hehe…"

"Please… enjoy this little gift."

"The Demon Legion."
