After changing into slippers, Nicholas Croft gave instructions to the maid at the door, "Xiaomei, take Miss's suitcase to my room."
"Yes, sir." Xiaomei agreed readily, then changed into slippers and dragged the suitcase towards the stairs.
Aunt Wang followed along to help her carry the suitcase up the stairs.
Nicholas Croft held Sophie Foster's hand and walked to the sofa, where they sat down together. Hannah Hargrave lifted her chin, taking a deep breath like a drowning person before suddenly turning around.
"Nicholas Croft! What on earth do you want!"
Facing Hannah Hargrave's outburst, Nicholas Croft spread his hands innocently, "I'm not doing anything, just bringing my Goddaughter home to stay. You're the one being overly suspicious."
"Goddaughter?" Hannah Hargrave repeated the word through clenched teeth, then let out a cold laugh, raised her hand, and pointed at Sophie Foster again, "Nicholas Croft, do you dare say you and this woman are truly father and daughter?"
